Man I was sure KrisZ was gonna take The Freebirds.- WWECW
I think there was some talk at the time that Angle went and freaked out in Vince's office while has was asking for his release so they were like "Let's get this guy the hell out of here before he self destructs on us" and then he popped up in TNA all "ha ha I worked Vince McMahon"- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
You're getting at least 2 matches you can put at the top of your cards every night though.- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
If The Freebirds don't go next I'll be shocked.- John Tenta vs Steve Williams
I could not see John Tenta having a better UWF babyface run than Dr. Death. I also don't see him being better in All Japan. Even in a completely hypothetical world where we explain away anything good Steve Williams ever did and over rate the good things Tenta did, I don't see how he's better than Doc. Also, JVK stop messing around in this thread and go make your draft pick.- 1983 Beginning Rosters
He was definitely a regular announcer at some point there, he did solo commentary on these two matches that I have seen: Ronnie Garvin vs. Lanny Poffo (ICW 1982/83) Ronnie Garvin vs. Randy Savage (Cage Match) (ICW 1982/83)- 1983 Managers
I was just thinking I could justify him going IN the 1st.- 1983 Managers

Poor dawho. That was the perfect Montreal babyface.- NWA-TNA 2002 REVISITED
Early TNA was tough to watch because I didn't want to skip around (outside of the obvious shit like Miss TNA segments) and you never really knew when someone was going to have a good match or shit the bed. I mean even the guys who could bust out something good like Lynn/Low Ki/AJ were just as likely to give you a trainwreck spotfest as a really good match. Even guys who you expected to suck would sometimes be a highlight of the show like the Malice/Don Harris stuff. It made it tough to predict and easy to be disappointed.- 1983 Beginning Rosters
Wasn't Lanny Poffo also the announcer for ICW in addition to being a wrestler? I think if he was still doing that at the end of ICW's run then he should be on the starting roster.- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
I gave some thought to taking Bock but I thought with Tully there it just would be overkill and I think Bock as a face doesn't work as well outside of AWA. He has killed it with his promos in his appearances in the 1983 Southwest I'm trying to binge watch though.- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
I mean there ARE 18 other people drafting looking for a top guy. I tried to really only aim big for the 1st 3 rounds.- 1983 Beginning Rosters
No, announcers were definitely supposed to stay with their promotions.I thought managers were draftable?- 1983 Beginning Rosters
(I'll edit this as the draft goes along) Southwest Championship Wrestling: Owner: Joe Blanchard Announcer: Steve Stack Referee: Jack Howe Roster: Tully Blanchard The Fabulous Ones (Stan Lane & Steve Keirn) "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan David Von Erich Mr. Saito- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
Shit, I wanted you to take one of my two options. PM me a list of who you want and I'll see what I can do in round 3 Go for it!- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
I look forward to you recreating the ill fated "New Fabs" experiment- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
I tried to take a somewhat realistic approach and think who was a hot act that a promoter really would have jumped to get in July, 1983. The Fabs were a big draw and did end up drawing pretty well (for a notoriously weak territory) when they had their short run in Southwest in late 83/early 84.- Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
I had an idea for my top babyface and really struggled whether to take him 1st or go with The Fabs to build my tag division around. Ultimately I decided to take the tag team I wanted since Tully is such a prick that I can take a lesser babyface and make it work.- 1983 Draft Thread
I'm also going to take a tag team early and pick: The Fabulous One: Stan Lane & Steve Keirn. This forfeits my 2nd round pick. RocketCrypt (Florida) has the next pick.- 1983 Tentative Rosters
I meant I didn't see him on the roster list Hickerson took a few year off from wrestling and I don't know for sure when he came back full time but it wasn't before 1984. That ruins my top angle. Toronto vs. Tennessee?- 1983 Tentative Rosters
I meant I didn't see him on the roster list Hickerson took a few years off from wrestling and I don't know for sure when he came back full time but it wasn't before 1984.- WWE TV 6/8 - 6/14/15
- Draft & ongoing booking project interest?
Nobody has come out and said you can't so I put him as your save. I really don't see any good reason you shouldn't be able to. - Draft discussion, analysis and trash talk
