  1. It's pretty much absolutely nothing like pro wrestling. You should probably youtube it go get an idea of what you are in for. I
  2. Probably the biggest wrestling torrent "group" as far as quality releases of TV shows, PPVs, iPPVs, DVDs, etc.
  3. RUDOS going down is actually pretty significant. Kinda interesting it was a small fish like DGUSA that took them down and not WWE.
  4. Anyone interested in the scans I mentioned in the original post, I have re-uploaded them on XWT-Classics
  5. To help out with this project, I have uploaded on old set of Wrestling Observer scans that I found onto XWT-Classics.net They range from 1984-1991 with 1985-1991 looking to be every issue from those years.
  6. The thing that wrestling will always have over MMA is that when worked correctly, matches tell a story. They can have a beginning, a middle, and an end that either leaves you satisfied or wanting more. Does RoH even do that anymore? Most of the stuff I have bothered to watch has just been dudes hitting a bunch of moves that should be finishers and then kicking out until you get to the actual finish and you go "really? After all that big shit, THAT is what finishes the match?" When you have a close to 10 minute section in each match where guys take turns hitting really big moves just to kick out, how can you follow that with a finish? I do not understand how Cornette of all people does not understand that.

  11. Yea but by 96 when they had already taken off and moved past the kiddy shit of late 94-95 Bobby just stuck out like a sore thumb. I can see that reasoning in 94-95 but by the middle of 1996 they didnt need Bobby for perception anymore, they had already taken over as the #1 promotion.
  12. The thing I really dont understand about Heenan in WCW is why it took them so long to take him out of the booth. It seemed like even Bischoff wasnt a big fan of working with him when they were in the booth together.

  14. I think they could still make an awesome character out of Doink, especially in the PG era. Start him out as the ultra babyface version of Doink and then start to do a slowburn on him becoming more and more of a psycho clown. Doubt they could find anyone as good as Matt Borne to pull it off, but it could work.

  21. Dusty & Tony were a very good team together on Saturday Night. Especially once Nitro took off and Saturday Night was very much a B-Show. Dusty kept that show entertaining even when you had no reason to care about the match that was taking place. No, he wasnt going to make you care about the match but he would at least keep you from totally tuning out. Would blame any 3 man booth problems on Heenan who never fit in WCW regardless of who he was paired with.

  23. I was amused by Dave's theory he posed on one of the radio shows the other day that the most popular women in US wrestling tend to be the one's who are just hot enough that you find them attractive but not so hot that you'd think you wouldn't have a chance to bang them. I got what he was trying to get at, the stereotypical wrestling fan is going to tend to be somewhat resentful of the unbelievably hot chick since it will probably remind him of a chick who doesn't give him a chance IRL. On the other hand, Trish Stratus. And on the other hand, Lita.
  24. Studd had left the business for a few years with the idea that when he came back he would be fresh and get a renewed push, whereas at the time he wasn't really doing anything. The idea worked, at least for the short term. But Studd was never that good and after a few years off was even worse. And not a good babyface at all.
  25. Jim Powers vs Barry Horowitz? The ultimate jobber dream match. EDIT: Damn that Austin promo was great. You could tell Vince wasn't exactly thrilled with Austin's spiel about him being a dirty promoter who wouldn't do anything to him because he wanted to make money off the Austin/Bret match.
