I don't know, wrestlingforum.com's favorite line about Ambrose is "let him be his Jon Moxley character~!" despite the fact that I doubt more than a handful of them actually watched him in the indies while he was there.

I was kind of with you until that 'Dolph Ziggler deserves a title run' part and then I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

When I peeked into the dregs of online wrestling discussion to see what they were saying about Shane's return that was a heavy focus. "Yes! Shane is back and that means someone is FINALLY going to take a bump off the Cell again!" but I don't see anyway that actually happens. They specifically raised the roof on the Cell to keep people from taking bumps off of it. That combined with the fact that Shane is a lot older now and that there is no way to hide a crash pad under an announce table I don't think there is any way he takes a bump off or especially through the Cell.

I had Hansen in my #1 ranked match on the AWA set. He didn't get an "easy ride" on his work in AWA while the set discussion was going on. He had some stuff people really liked and some stuff people thought was disappointing because they could have been better (mostly the Slaughter matches which most people put more on Slaughter wanting to be lazy than Hansen)

Given that you are voting for The Barbarian and have people like Sean Waltman as locks, I find this really pretty baffling. Ted's AJ stuff is pretty tangental to his case, which is built on his Mid-South run primarily where he was the main guy, not Hansen's little buddy. This is the 2nd time in the past few days I've seen you throw out The Barbarian as your name of choice to scoff at and I'm not sure where you got the idea that he's got some big groundswell of support for GWE. There are 4 posts in his thread with only 1 person (who isn't InYourCase) saying they MIGHT put him somewhere between #90-100.
  6. Steiner was SUPER over in India while Ring Ka King was still a thing so that should take the place of All Japan.

  8. I don't think I could have convinced myself to put Hector & Chavo any higher than where I had them so I think I'll be fine.
  9. But there is at least 1 riot that DID make tape:

It feels odd that someone could be thinking of rating Christian very highly but have Matt Hardy on the bubble. They feel very lateral to me as far as their careers and abilities. If I was doing a singles ballot I'd probably have Matt Hardy over Christian to be honest.
  11. I turned in my tag ballot this morning (not doing a singles) might have been the first ballot submitted.

It's from a KAW TV taping in a women's prison:

From the best match in the history of our great sport:

Might be my favorite guy to watch in squash matches. Been watching a few Andre squash matches on youtube today and this is my favorite one.

If I was doing a singles ballot I would be tempted to vote for him just off this match that took place in a women's prison:
  16. I wish there was a whole treasure trove of wrestling matches taking place in women's prisons. That was awesome stuff.

Because the team is Chavo Sr. & Hector. Not Chavo Jr.
  18. goc replied to Grimmas's topic in 2016
You have Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hector Guerrero listed, you just need to hack off the Jr. there.

I would buy that he tried to sabotage his own babyface run around that time period. He didn't even attempt to have a good match with Hogan the next month at Backlash which was probably part him being mad that he had to job to Hogan and part sabotage because then HHH could explain that the match sucked because he wasn't a heel and he needed to be turned.

  21. If it hasn't come to you yet, Mike Fever's brother was 'Gentleman' Jim Holliday. Really loved this and found out a lot of stuff I didn't know about. Like the awesome story of The Stud Stable's "cut man" and how it led to Tom Prichard becoming Dr. Tom.
  22. And the Lawler/Bam Bam Texas Death match. Both of those are matches that finished in the top 10 in the voting.
  23. I'm assuming Roy Welch is Roy Lee Welch aka the King of Rasslin in my avatar? Even as the board's biggest mark for him I don't think I could really make an argument for him. He's a great heel in 1986 Continental, so great that he's able to carry a feud with Tim Horner that's probably the most interesting program Horner was ever involved in. A lot of the stuff that made me fall in love with him was his character work and promos but in the ring he was also really good. But before that late career heel run I just don't think there is much for him to hang his hat on. During the early 80s he was pretty much just a superior version of Mike Jackson on Southeastern TV as the guy who always put up a fight and looked good but ended up losing. He rarely ever even worked the arena dates during that time period. I asked Rip Rogers about that on twitter and he said that Roy was just busy doing other stuff for the office as a part owner so he didn't work that much. He looks good in every TV match I've ever seen him in but his role is very comparable to Mike Jackson. In the early 70s he worked a lot in a tag team with his brother Jackie Welch in Florida and Alabama (pre-Fuller era when it was run by The Fields) but they weren't really a big deal or anything. If he was as heavily featured in the early 80s Southeastern as he was in his 1986 Continental run I would have already nominated him like I did Bob Armstrong. But unfortunately he's a weird case of a guy whose best run is like a 6 month stint as a heel at the very tail end of being a career babyface. Everyone should watch this though:
  24. I seem to remember reading that he improved a lot while he was in Puerto Rico but I doubt you'll be able to find any of that stuff and I have no idea how good it is in the first place.
