  1. It's kind of my favorite feud too, really. I didn't know what I was going to do with it at first, it's one of those things that just ended up getting way better once I started writing it from when it was being brain stormed.

  3. Damn right it is. I'm glad some people are starting to get past this notion that all the territories are supposed to be best of friends and peace and love and harmony should rule the 1983 fantasy rasslin world.
  4. Ya'll stop trying to throw off my man El Boricua from getting caught up in the fantasy project.

That roster would have put WWF out of business though so I feel it's actually quite realistic.

That's what the "Insert Month" Freelancers Threads are.
  7. Tony Torres is not a free agent anymore. I dropped T.G. Stone and picked him up. Big Red Reese also needs to be swapped out with Paul Peller.
  8. Very much looking forward to a new Brainbuster. I'm not much of a podcast guy because when it comes to a review or analysis I'd much rather read it than listen to it but Brainbuster is super fun and not something that would work in a written medium.

Yes, especially since Flyin' Brian was going to have until the end of the day to show up anyway. Doesn't stop you from coming up with the list of guys you would want to keep/drop though. Although I think if Super Stan wants in he should pretty much just take ICW and not make everyone go through a bunch of headache over an expansion draft. There is pretty much no way an expansion draft roster would be better than one with Randy Savage, Ronnie Garvin, Adrian Street, Jim Cornette, Arn Anderson, Jimmy Valiant, Lanny Poffo, Pez Whatley and The Grappler as it's top stars.
  10. Jacques being injured is quite a surprise. I guess The Midnights won't hurt for new challengers though with all the tag teams waiting in the wings that could come into Montreal. Good stuff from Goldie Rogers although the finish seemed a bit over done with a low blow, a throat first drop across the ropes and a neckbreaker. I like Goldie here but someone described Goldie to me as a "lazy Rip Rogers" and knowing how boring Steve Regal is I'm not sure I'd actually want to see a match with them teaming together. Good TV Tag Title match between The Tongan Terrors and The Invaders. That IS a match I would actually want to see. Pretty bold choice to show the main event of your big show on TV like that. Lefebvre got put over so hard I'm almost wondering if you're setting up a face turn.
  11. I would imagine that you guys could find better information on whether or not it's a scam on your own doing some googling and not pondering the question on a wrestling board. I l know that there are actually a lot of "charities" who spend pennies on the dollar on their actual cause and spend the other 95 cents of the dollar on fund raising and administrative costs. There are isn't a list of available territories because we don't leave one open if someone drops out. If a new writer wants to come in and there isn't an open territory they can either start helping someone write or get set up in a kind of developmental territory. Right now we have ICW open but since we don't get new writers often it wouldn't be a good idea to just leave territories open waiting for someone to come along. But you can see what territories are active here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31239-every-promotions-roster-in-one-thread/ (promotions that are crossed out with a line through them are the ones who have been merged) There is a Free Agent thread here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31871-free-agency-wire/ And there are monthly Freelancer threads where you can request dates on guys like Stan Hansen, Abdullah the Butcher, Bruiser Brody, The Original Sheik and Mil Mascaras (when they aren't in Japan) They are considered freelancers because they weren't guys who would hunker down in one territory only for months on end. As far as rules, I'm not really sure what you are looking for. Currently the only real hard rule is that if you don't make any posts or give any indication that you're still in the game, your territory gets merged (or taken over by a new writer) after 30 days. I guess the only other hard rule would be that you can't use a guy on someone's roster unless you made an agreement to use them. Meaning I can't just say "well WCCW isn't running on Sunday night so I'll just book half of their roster on my show in San Antonio" There is no real list of "rules" because the game is very open ended which is one of the better parts. At this point I think that some rosters are getting so bloated that it would make sense for a new writer to be able to come in and set up shop somewhere like Arizona/New Mexico/maybe even California since no one is really running there. Not sure how they would get set up with talent though, I would personally send a few guys off my roster since it's starting to get a little bloated but I know everyone is not going to do that.

Nobody has come forward as a new writer since you and the Florida writer came in. I am guessing that rainmaker's friend never responded since we haven't heard about that in a week now. Doesn't seem like there is anyone who is going to step in and takeover ICW.

I think this should really squash any need to argue over Cornette. If he's going to honor the 50/50 deal then you guys should be able to just work out a sharing agreement. He was able to appear on both the ICW & Southeastern TV tapings so it would seem like things should be manageable.
  16. Memphis had a pretty well established loop. Of course I don't really expect you to do this many shows a week but this is what it looked like: Monday: Memphis, TN Tuesday: Louisville, KY Wednesday: Evansville, IN Thursday: Spot show (Blytheville, Jonesboro, AR, Jackson TN) Friday:Tupelo, MS Saturday: Memphis TV in the morning & Nashville at night

  19. Tully is being body guarded by Mr. Saito that shit ain't going down. Please.
  20. Well if we're just going to throw out any semblance of reality, like Turner allowing someone to run opposition in the Omni to the very promotion he's featuring on WTBS, Joe Blanchard plans to call in a bomb threat hours before the NWA Omni show is scheduled to take place and get it cancelled.
  21. The first Southeastern episode on WTBS was certainly an interesting one. Started with the big surprise of Southeastern switching sanctioning bodies, with the WTBS now suddenly being the national outlet for the the AWA instead of the NWA. And ended with the unannounced arrival of The Texas Dynasty who took out Bob & Brad Armstrong and ended the show as the National Tag Team Champions. Add in all the good stuff in the middle like a Heavenly Bodies squash, Charlie Cook vs. The Torch, Buzz Sawyer killing a jobber, some good promos from Tommy Rich and The Armstrongs and this was one hell of a show. The Texas Dynasty is going to have to get really creative if they win any more belts now though with them already having one for each shoulder and one around their waists.
  22. The WTBS time slots suddenly becoming an AWA showcase seems slightly more significant.
  23. It's just an hour show. Despite the fact that a lot of people get speaking time, it's not like their promos are really all that long and they get shuffled in one right after the other if there are multiple interviews in one segment. Segment four is usually dedicated to a promo train of 3-4 guys all cutting promos one after the other but it's still only a 7-8 minute segment. I'm not doing any WWE style 20 minute monologues. I had 4 different guys do promos in the fourth segment but even if they got 2 minutes each that's only an 8 minute segment. Watch an old episode of Southeastern/Continental to see the model that idea is based off of. Nearly everyone who was going to be on the Monday night card in Boutwell got promo time on the TV. You'd have probably 8-12 guys cut short promos on one episode.
  24. Well that first Southeastern show on WTBS certainly shook things up. Wonder if that qualifies as the fantasy project's version of 'Black Saturday'...
  25. Cliff Notes Version: -Steve Stack talks about the injury suffered by Eddie Gilbert at the hands of David Von Erich and talks about the Japanese photographer's attack on Jim Duggan -Mr. Saito introduces the photographer who attacked Jim Duggan as Yoshi Seito. He says Seito is a wrestler, not a photographer and he is Saito's protege from Japan. -Tully Blanchard announces the 'Dream Match' 8 man tag between The Dynasty, Saito, Yoshi Seito and the team of The Fabs, Jim Duggan and Ken Lucas. Winner gets to pick their 'dream match' to main event The HemisFair Arena the next week -Yoshi Seito defeated The Masked Wildfire with a German Suplex in a dominating display -The Fabulous Ones talked about the 8 man tag and their frustrations at once again being denied their rematch for the Southwest Tag Team Titles. They let everyone, even their own team mates, know that it would be one of them who scored the pinfall Sunday night so they would receive the Dream Match of their choosing -Lord Alfred Hayes introduced his newest charge: Bulldog Brower. Alfred said he wasn't interested in defeating Steve Pardee anymore he simply wanted to maim and injure him and that's why Bulldog Brower was brought in. -Moose Morowski came out and appealed to Lord Alfred to take him back but Lord Alfred dismissed him and called him washed up -Jimmy Doo defeated Bulldog Brower by DQ after Bulldog Brower threw him over the top rope. Brower continued beating on Doo after the match, slamming the wooden ring steps into Doo's back. -Mil Mascaras announced that El Gran Apollo would be facing Jose Lothario one on one at The HemisFair Arena & he would be at ringside handcuffed to Mr. Mexico to ensure that he stayed out of the match -Mike Masters said he was going to continue training Tiny Anderson despite saying last week he would disassociate with him if Tiny lost to Larry Hamilton. He then said if Anderson causes them to lose their tag match against Yin and Yang it would prove to be a short reprieve. -Mike Masters also said he wasn't going to get revenge on Lord Alfred Hayes himself but that he had made a phone call on someone was on the way to take care of it for him -The Canadian talked about why he attacked his partner Mike Jackson in their tag match from the previous week at The HemisFair Arena. He promised to destroy Jackson in their singles match this week. -Ken Lucas talked about Eddie Gilbert's injury but told Steve Stack that Eddie would be back real soon. Lucas said he wanted to win the 8 man tag match so he could make a Stretcher match with David Von Erich and watch David get carried out of the arena for what he did to Eddie Gilbert. -Jim Duggan said that Tully and his team all agreed on a 4 on 1 handicap match as their Dream Match because Tully is afraid of Jim Duggan. But Duggan said he isn't afraid of them and that if he wins his Dream Match will be a Steel Cage match with Tully Blanchard with the Southwest Heavyweight Title on the line -Bill Ash said it doesn't bother him to be a paid mercenary, in fact he quite likes the idea. He promised to collect the $10,000 bounty by breaking Roy Lee Welch's leg with the Fuller Leglock. -Bill Ash defeated Tony Torres by submission in the Fuller Leglock but Roy Lee Welch ran down and attacked him to stop him from breaking Torres' leg the way he did the previous week to Josh Stroud -Jose Lothario said he wasn't worried about Mr. Mexico being handcuffed to Mil Mascaras because it ensured Mascaras couldn't jump in the ring to save Apollo when Jose ends his career -David Von Erich defeated Larry Hamilton with the help of Sunshine to retain his Southwest TV Title Scheduled for Sunday, October 9th at the HemisFair Arena in San Antonio, TX 8 Man Tag 'Dream Match': Ken Lucas, Jim Duggan & The Fabs vs. Yoshi Seito, Mr. Saito & The Texas Dynasty El Gran Apollo vs. Jose Lothario Mil Mascaras will be handcuffed to Mr. Mexico at ringside Roy Lee Welch vs. Bill Ash Tiny Anderson & Mike Masters vs. Yin & Yang Steve Pardee vs. Bulldog Brower The Canadian vs. Mike Jackson Bruiser Costa & Terry Adonis vs. Art Crews & Timothy Flowers Ali Bey vs. Larry Hamilton
