There isn't a wrestling fan in the States that doesn't, at least a little, want to be involved in what's going on. Past a heel specifically taunting members of the crowd or a babyface asking the crowd if they want "one more" of a move, I don't think there's anything that involves them so directly as the ten-count punches in the corner. This is maybe the worse move in the history of wrestling. When I first started watching the WWF, I thought it was the thing that exposed wrestling the most. This and its brother the 10 repeated head slams into the turnbuckle. Yes, it gets crowd participation but man is it horrible. There have only ever been a few people in the history of wrestling who have done great stuff with this move. I was so happy when I discovered Japanese wrestling and realised among other stupid typical North American wrestling cliches they didn't do this. I don't know but I gather the reason it is not used in the WWE anymore is because people in power realised it was pretty corny and the negatives outweighed the postives so thankfully it is gone. Good riddance and good for the WWE. Keep it is as minimal as poeple or at least only let people who can do it actually do it. Punches to the face aren't intense enough for you?

This thread is why I love pro wrestling. A rollicking entertaining roller-coaster much like one of those Bay and Emmerich films what try to destroy the globe and such. Except, the dialogue's way better.

I feel that way when I watch a lot of ECW now. It was trail-blazing stuff that changed the business forever but a lot of those matches now are just bad.

Got a little powerbomb happy at the end but I thought it was a pretty entertaining juniors match.

The end, from Hogan no selling the knucks shot to having all four Horsemen on their knees, was quite silly. Hogan definitely did a good job selling the knee, and the delayed suplex by Flair was very impressive. Very solid match. Real hot crowd.

That Cena Orton spot got no pop because it was one of the most thoughtless spots I've ever seen. Why would fans pop for it? They've seen it over and over and the dudes are both good guys with nothing to really face off over -- not even pride. They keep trying to push that match don't they? Cena made his comment a couple weeks ago about how it felt like WrestleMania. It's like they're trying to recreate Hogan-Warrior. Or Austin-Rock. And failing miserably.

He really just punched the fuck out of him, didn't he? That brought me out of my seat Monday night.

My biggest gripe with Superstars is, as is the case with most WWE product, the repetitive matchups. Three straight weeks of some permutation of Chris Masters vs. Curt Hawkins is about one week too many. Especially when Hawkins jobs every single week. If you're going to do a series, give me a little sizzle or something.

Da Meltz still knows his wrestling. Good to hear him fighting the good fight for Richards vs Black as the more publicity that match gets the better. What an incredible year for Richads. I picked up the DVD with that match with a ROH gift certificate I got at their Charlotte show. I will have to check it out.
