If not Mr. Fuji, then who?
I thought Hart was an effective manager for Muta.

If not Mr. Fuji, then who?
I kind of liked Teddy Long when he was managing a bunch of JTTS guys in late 90s WCW.

Best World Champion In The World Today?
Severn did beat Hashimoto for the belt in Japan. I really just included it because it was in the original listing.

What are you watching?
Started getting into those Best of CMLL 2014 DVDs today. 1. Hombre Bala Jr., Súper Halcón Jr., Dragon Lee, Oro Jr., Stigma, Robin, Guerrero Negro Jr., Canelo Casas, Black Panther, Hijo del Signo, Cachorro, Herodes Jr. (Copa Junior torneo Cibernetico, Arena Mexico, 01/01/2014) I didn't care much for this one. It had some good action but they resorted to rapid fire eliminations towards the end and I only knew who a couple of guys were. 2. Mephisto vs. Atlantis (Mexican National Light Heavyweight Championship, Arena Mexico, 01/01/2014) First two falls were pretty quick and not memorable but I really enjoyed the third fall. Atlantis seemed to be bringing his A game for this one and there was a good pace to the match. Mephisto was always one of my favorites when I was watching a few years ago. 3. Titán vs. Negro Casas (Leyenda de Plata Tournament Final, Arena Mexico, 01/03/2014) This was okay. I don't really remember Titan from when I was last watching. I figured Negro Casas would win this one and he did. This was a pretty crisp match on the execution but it didn't have the same intensity level that parts of the previous match had. Still enjoyable though. I have 2 matches left on this disc that I'll probably watch tonight and I might get into Vol. 2 tomorrow.

Best World Champion In The World Today?
They finally got Inoki away from having any real influence within the company sometime in 2006. I consider them putting the belt on Tanahashi for the first time to be the turning point for them as a company. They made several missteps after that but you can trace the rebound to that decision.

Best World Champion In The World Today?
Yeah, Akiyama is probably the best of that group considering Kawada got hurt. If you go to the end of April it's still pretty ugly: WWE Champion: Hulk Hogan IWGP Champion: Yuji Nagata Triple Crown Champion: Tenryu GHC Champion: Ogawa NWA Champion: Dan Severn CMLL Heavyweight Champion: Universo 2000

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
http://www.slambamjam.com/mm5/merchant.mvc I think 2005 is a great year to start. You get Mistico rising to the top of the promotion and you get Perros Del Mal becoming the top stable in the promotion. You'll get Mistico taking on Averno, Ultimo Guerrero and Aguayo Jr. in singles matches throughout the year. I was a regular watcher at the time and there were just some great matches throughout the year.

Best World Champion In The World Today?
I was trying to think of a worse period of champions than this. Coming out of Wrestlemania 18 in late March you did have this roll call of champions: WWE Champion: Triple H IWGP Champion: Tadao Yasuda Triple Crown Champion: Kawada - injured and striped of the belt around this time frame. GHC Champion: Jun Akiyama NWA Champion: Dan Severn CMLL Heavyweight Champion: Universo 2000 That's a pretty pathetic list of world champions.

What are you watching?
I've been watching some of the summer AAA television. Man, it doesn't matter who they have on the roster, I just can never enjoy their product as much as I like CMLL.

If not Mr. Fuji, then who?
And there's Sonny Ono who was pretty terrible in WCW.

If not Mr. Fuji, then who?
Paul Jones has been a great manager as I've watched 1985. He wasn't a top tier guy but he was perfect for his band of misfits. Paul Jones and Superstar Billy Graham are an awesome combo. I never thought Mr. Fuji was particularly bad. Not worst ever. He was never worst in the WWF any year I've watched. Johnny V and Frenchy Martin were far worse on any given night. Coach, Hiro Matsuda and Oscar were also fucking terrible. Fuji had credibility from his wrestling days, I always thought he was good at getting heat for his guys and not himself and he tended to interfere in matches the right way.

They told me 1979 when I asked that question recently.

I'm about 5 years out of the loop on lucha and was wanting to get back into it. Which product is better now? Are those Best of CMLL 2014 DVDs worth grabbing off IVP for the $1.39 a shot?

The REAL top 50 OMG moments in WCW History
Wouldn't Mae Young hand birth and Katie Vick top the all time list?
-
The REAL top 50 OMG moments in WCW History
I'd argue Luger got a bigger pop.

The REAL top 50 OMG moments in WCW History
That list is absolute garbage. Luger beating Hogan for the title on Nitro and Sting destroying everyone at Uncensored 97 are two of the best moments of the Monday Night Wars.

If Not Roman Reigns, Then Who?
True, no one gives a shit about Orton but that also means you can just let Lesnar absolutely destroy him. Bully Ray is available soon and you could feed him to Reigns. He's not a huge name but he would make Reigns look good.
-
If Not Roman Reigns, Then Who?
Why not feed Orton to Brock? Go a little crazy and try a heel vs. heel match.
-
Ivan Koloff Documentary
Yeah, their donation plan sucks.
-
If Not Roman Reigns, Then Who?
They've done a good job of highlighting Cesaro's freakish strength. That gives him an instant credibility against Lesnar.

Guilty Pleasure/Displeasure
I can't stand the Dynamite Kid. I don't know if Barry Darsow is a guilty pleasure. He's really good as Krusher Khruschev.

What are you watching?
Did the World Championship Wrestling show start on April 6, 1985? Was WWF or Georgia before that? Is that why, perhaps, WWE 24/7 started its run around April 85 too? Makes sense. April 6th was the first Crockett show. It was WWF leading up to that. Georgia was in an early morning time slot leading up to this and Crockett took that over too.

Goldberg
I've said numerous times but I would have done Goldberg vs. the newly unmasked Kane. Do it in December, have Goldberg run through Batista and HHH and keep Kane far away from Shane McMahon and feed him some over mid-carders. The match would have sucked but I bet they would have popped a good buyrate. It reminds me of how WCW fucked up Goldberg/Wrath.

Goldberg
He steamrolled to the U.S. Title in a really short period of time. His matches were super short and and in tags/multi-mans he almost always scored the pinfall. On tv they hyped up how he was ending matches so quickly. They did slow down his push as time went on but there was a good 6-7 month period where it follows a similar structure to Goldberg.

Goldberg
Magnum TA's push in Crockett was very Goldberg like.
