Davey Richards: Scam Artist
Does anyone else think it's a little sad that Kyle's been wrestling for 7 years and it sounds like he makes maybe $30 a show. At what point do you realize people at McDonalds are making more money than you and call it quits?

Davey Richards: Scam Artist
Someone smiled during a match which showed they weren't taking their wrestling serious enough. WRESTLING IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!!!

Davey Richards: Scam Artist
He's kind of like those people we all know. The people that didn't quite make it in life or didn't get as far in their career as they wanted/expected. He seems to have that same kind of bitterness and is doing the same "show the young punks the ropes" routine that those people do.

I did a little digging on Tony Kozina because I was generally curious. He is 41 years old. He debuted in 1997 and has been around for 15 years. The biggest moment of his career was jobbing to Garrison Cade and Mark Jindrak on an episode of WWE Heat in 2003. And it looks like he got very sparse work with Ring of Honor over the years. There you go, 15 years in a nutshell for Tony Kozina.

Isn't Kozina pretty old? I mean he's been around forever. Really, the part with him is hilarious. 15 years in the business and he's never even had a run in a big indy. I think he's just some bitter fuck and needed an ego boost by fucking with some ki

My other reaction to this... Who the fuck is Tony Kozina to be complaining about respect from anyone. I'm pretty sure he's small time by even indy standards and has never worked for more than a couple of hundred people. Seems like he should be happy that anyone is willing to book him.

They really sound like a bunch of sociopaths with their obsession with respect.

Totally. He's like Shane Douglas minus all the success and runs in the big leagues.

It seems like that would get you shit canned from all of the Japanese promotions. I guess he's out the door and is showing his true colors or whatever. Being a personal trainer, you can make some decent money at that or you can stand around all day making minimum wage.

I was trying to be generous.

I think that blog post is a perfect example of someone that has lost their perspective in life. I mean, let's really think about him. He's not a big name by any means on the indy circuit. He seems more a coat tail rider than he does a name. He's not making anyone, any money so he could easily be blackballed. And on a financial level, he probably isn't even as successful as people on this board that have an everyday bland career. He's walking around like he's a star when he's really kind of a sort of known nobody.

I left him a little love note:

Wow, he just doesn't get it.

Wow, what a couple of shitheads. I love how indy lifers like Kozina have this high and mighty notion about teaching some 16 year old kid about respect. What the fuck ever, keep being that medium sized fish in a small pond.

Ring of Honor Wrestling
The fact they aren't giving this one away for free should make it less of a loss maker. Even if Kingston costs a little less, is that going to really help if fewer people buy the show? Wouldn't something like Steen/Cole drawn more buys than bringing in Kingston a few weeks before the show.

WWF Ongoing Thread
I haven't seen the HHH and the Radicals vs. The Rock, Mick Foley, Rikishi and Too Cool since it originally aired. I remember really enjoying the match. Has it held up?

His matches wit Randy Savage are up on Youtube.

Ring of Honor Wrestling
RoH randomly threw another iPPV out there and the headline of the show is Kevin Steen vs. Eddie Kingston. It's about 3 weeks from now and Kingston hasn't appeared once on RoH Television. How does that even fucking make sense?

Do championships mean anything today?
1988: Demolition Strike Force British Bulldogs Conquistadors Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov Islanders Killer Bees Hart Foundation Paul Roma and Jim Powers Rougeaus and I feel like I'm missing a couple of teams as I'm looking at the start of 88.

Is John Cena a better worker than Kurt Angle?
Look at the Shane vs. Test Street Fight from Summerslam. Shane gets some offense in but you never really believe that Test is in any real danger at any point in the match.

Genki Sudo (155 lbs.) pretty easily handled Butterbean (huge) in an MMA fight in Pride. Just saying.

Is John Cena a better worker than Kurt Angle?
The street fight vs. Test was actually a much more logical match than the Angle match.

I thought I read it in the Observer.

I wrote a big long post 7 years ago about how Angle was overrated. I think you can sum up Kurt Angle's career in a single incident. And that was complaining to management that Eddie Guerrero was stopping to sell during their Summerslam match instead of letting him go on to the next move. It's 8 years after that happened and he still does the same shit. Sure, I enjoyed his matches with Jeff Jarrett last year but that was because Jarrett reigned him in and made him actually work a match. That's really the story of his career. You get him in there with a seasoned veteran that takes control and makes him slow down, he's a really competent guy that can do his part. You let him lead the show and you get something that a couple of indy guys would come up with. He's been in the business for what? 14 years now? And in a lot of ways, he was more competent when he was sticking to the basics and still trying to learn.
