Jericho's return ...
I honestly think he was done but realized he had them by the balls and basically came back just to bleed every cent he could've out of them. I think his run could be marred by him dogging it. I don't blame him really. It's like the WCW guys that took the money to stay home in 2001. Why pass up a chance for easy money?

Greg Gagne wasn't a bad wrestler per say. The High Flyers tag team was really good. The problem with Greg became when he had to become a singles wrestler and they pushed him too hard.

There was a huge amount of "omg he spits an apple, he's the best wrestler evah!!!" when he first started. I know I got in a lot of arguments with people during his early days because I had actually seen him wrestle several times and knew he sucked.

I think it's a case of them being pushed too hard as promoters sons. They wouldn't be as hated or known if they were pushed to where their abilities warranted.

The backlash is due to him being a smark flavor of the month when he started. He's always been a bad wrestler, it just took the net fans awhile to see through the gimmick. Plus, there's no middle ground on the net anymore. Either you're the best thing ever or you're the suckiest thing to ever suck.

I'm loving SMW so far. I've gotten to see bits and pieces here but I've never been able to see it from episode 1 and just watch as the roster and storylines develop. I like how they run their big angle one week and then have the blowoff match the next week. I haven't even gotten to the Heavenly Bodies debuting yet. The Ron Wright angle has also been great so far.

What other Bob Roop do I need to see?
I don't have specific matches but if you're wanting to get a feel for his career you'll probably want to check out his Florida days teaming with Kevin Sullivan in the Army of Darkness.

I've been watching some AWA on ESPN that I got on DVD. Wow, are they really behind the times at this point. They actually still have a good roster of talent with Sgt. Slaughter, Bruiser Brody, Stan Hansen, Midnight Rockers, Buddy Rose, etc. They just don't know how to use anyone. They're wasting Brody with Nord the Barbarian and they just seem lost on how to use the Rockers. It's really a shame. Also Gagne and Nelson are awful commentators. Though I did laugh at Nelson during a sit down interview. Buddy Rose tears a $100 bill in half and during the rest of the interview Nelson eyes the money and slowly secures it under his foot.

I am one happy wrestling nerd.
Also I thought it was fucking lame as hell that RoH did a time limit draw with 1 of the 2 matches that Misawa wrestled here.
-

Yeah, Misawa needs to be doing that special attraction 6-8 matches a year with maybe 1 singles match a year.

Well, what do you expect really? Misawa is really broken down and he needs the right opponent to drag something good at him or just be willing to stand in the middle of the ring and let him stiff the hell out of them.

Using the gimmick name that he used for a handful (or less) of shows in Japan is either a rib or the weirdest bit of research ever. Maybe it was an attempt to put her in the most unflattering light possible? That's my guess. It strikes me as a very calculated attempt to paint them in as poor a light as possible. Such an obscure reference.

I managed to get the entire run of SMW Television for about $1 for every 2 episodes. I'm really pleased with that.

I believe it was a quick one and done job to give a rub to TA.

Sleazier buriness: Pro Wrestling or Porn?
I believe that's because wrestling is like a big cult for the workers. Once you're in, you get brainwashed to things and suddenly things that would be totally unacceptable to a regular person have justification when you're in that circle of people.

Sleazier buriness: Pro Wrestling or Porn?
Pro Wrestling easily. Both are sleazy but the porn industry seems to be getting a little less sleazy while wrestling seems to be getting worse in some ways. Plus porn has a much lower mortality rate. On the PR side of things. Porn has done a much better job of tricking the public into thinking they've cleaned up their act while the WWE has been rather transparent about it.

That requires actual thought and impulse control. Didn't they at one point hire someone to keep continuity straight and then fire them after they pointed out too many plot holes from show to show?

WWE 24/7 July-September 2007 Thread
That's the only reason I give it the time of day. Compared to World Championship Wrestling and WCCW it's very outdated, slow and bad action. I wish they'd start doing Superstars so I could actually get some angle development between shows.

A couple of his Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling matches against Johnny Gargano are pretty good.

The treatment for cancer is actually worse than having cancer in a lot of ways. It just destroys people. Seeing my grandfather go through it was enough to make me decide that if I ever got cancer I wasn't going to seek treatment.

ARGH!!! The Philly arena show they added has another fucking Stallions/Shadows match. Fuck this feud. Not a single good match in the lot.

WWE 24/7 July-September 2007 Thread
They had it here and there but they loved those fucking 20 minute SD Jones matches and those were always boring as hell. I just don't get the appeal of the WWF style until they had stolen a lot of talent by about 1987. And even when they got guys like a Bob Orton they totally dumbed their moveset and style down.
