I would imagine at his age he's probably fine. I doubt they would share any sort of disability or possible long term effects with fans though. I would say no news is good news on that front.

I have been saying Big E should get the belt for a long time. But this reeks of a panic move where he's going to get blamed when ratings don't shift. He's now the champion of a show he hasn't wrestled on in 2 years. What feuds have been built for him, who are his challengers, etc.

They must be worried AEW will beat them outright with MNF.

They had a little fun when they paired up winless Brandon Cutler and winless Peter Avalon. They had a double DQ and a double count out finish before having a No DQ No Count Out Match. It was actually pretty funny at the time.

They're more like 90 minutes or less now. They are teasing a Dark Order break up on Dark and they just blew off a Big Swole/Diamante feud. You also have the Peter Avalon stable causing some issues.

Those shows have really improved over the summer. Much shorter and they even have a couple of angles that run just on those shows.

I think Cage would be fine as a top guy in a mid-card heel stable. But he's not a top guy for a major national promotion. Getting a built up World title match that he lost on TV is the highest a guy like Cage should achieve in AEW. There's nothing that Cage does that Ricky Starks doesn't do better with a lot of charisma on top of it.

What a novel concept of having the hometown guy go over and having another hometown guy bail him out. I agree, this shit isn't rocket science.

I particularly hate that one to justify Raw's ratings. Yes illegal pirate streams exist but you might have 20,000 people doing that total.

Cole isn't even that good of a talker. I am not even a Cole fan but it's like why even bother signing him if that's what you ultimately wanted to do with him?

I think you have to give him six months and maybe even a bit longer. Especially considering Punk isn't a super athlete.

So I was thinking of ways you could sign Charlotte and not have it suck. I think where I would go is have her come in and say she's retiring and just wants to support Andrade. Then you have Britt Baker taunt her out of retirement over the course of a few months.

I believe he had health issues and went to a fish/chicken style diet.

Not necessarily here but I also think there is a touch of revisionist history and rose colored glasses when it comes to Jericho the inring performer. He has had bouts of good and very good but I would never say he was a top flight inring guy. Above average to good but he was never a technical marvel. He was always a little sloppy at his best.

I think he's mostly fine but I don't necessarily look forward to Jericho's matches. I agree the callback spots were good and I thought after the restart they got it right. But when it comes to Jericho inring, I just expect watchable with an occasional good match. But match work is not what he really brings to the table for AEW.

Why would MJF agree to that though. He wants to end Jericho's career and losing DQs takes away an avenue of getting rid of him. Speaking strictly in character here obviously.

I felt he was even getting his legs by the end of the match. The first couple of minutes it felt like he was totally lost and then the ending stretch I thought he was starting to pull his weight instead of Darby holding his hand.

The Stardom situation felt a lot like Cornette's story about the Midnight Express meeting with the WWE and they wanted to talk action figures instead of concrete booking ideas.

I might be willing to put the cage match in the range of MOTYC. That one is weirsld though and I am honestly having a hard time wrapping my head around it quality wise. For me it kind of transcended star ratings with how invested I got in it.

My wife at the end of the show: "Why do all of these WWE guys show up and all of them look happier than I have ever seen them?"

I feel like you do Danielson and Omega first. Give Punk a solid 6 months to shake off the rust.

I should have known it was going to be special when Baker and Statland pulled off such a banger of a match.
