Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Shawn Michaels with an inferiority complex where he has to act like one of the guys around his buddies? You don’t say.

The Lucha Bros/Young Bucks All Out cage tag winning WON MOTY when it was like the fourth best match on the show is hilarious.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Been off Twitter for months now but on IG, Paul’s first post in six months was about WWE 2K22.

Cody as the guy who just hasn’t quite fit in anywhere is pretty wild.

AEW TV - February 9/11, 2022
Adding White to the equation is an interesting one given he’s been calling himself the Real Belt Collector lately. When Omega comes back, shit is gonna get interesting. And I really hope Keith is past his COVID issues at this point. Most recoveries have taken a year or so for really bad cases such as his, so I’m hoping he can stay healthy.

Never mind him being bloated. And getting blown up early.

AEW Dynamite - February 2, 2022
I made the point months back that the entirety of the AEW house style is based on the reaction of tape hawks who remember sequences step-by-step and I’d rather it be from someone who takes that and applied it to a wrestler who tried to actually put thought into their matches than aping a Japanese highspot because “DANGEROUSSSSS” like the majority of matches over the last 20 years.

Well, that was more on his opponent than him on the Moriarty match… Happy to hear folks feeling the same way I am about Punk’s run. My qualms about the AEW house style being what it is, Punk doing what he is shows there’s other ways to get it done out there. Now just wonder who’s paying attention.

Neither has Gargano, though, for that matter. Or most other wrestlers in WWE.

So there seems to be a pretty clear divide happening in talent that makes me think there’s going to be a large swath of folks that will be relegated to Dark or not renewed when their contract comes up. The last couple weeks on Dynamite have shown a pretty stark difference in folks they’ve tried to bring along and succeeded in presentation and others who are pretty obviously floundering, and I can’t imagine it’s by design. A TON of squash matches, and really, you should be having a bit more variety on those shows than you have been.

But who’s gonna help them lay out the match and sell a bit?

So Moxley’s first match back will not be with AEW but will rather be with GCW at their Hammerstein show against Homicide, which I thought was an interesting development. I figured that AEW would want to give him the opportunity to return however he wanted to on TV, but guessing this is giving him the chance to come back in an environment he feels would be the better way to return. Never thought I’d see that, to be honest. A welcome development.

AEW Rampage - January 14, 2022
Cole/Trent basically not selling any head drops at all down the stretch was pretty hilarious. Just because it’s a TV match doesn't mean you condense your 20 minute match down to 8 and cut the selling.

AEW Dynamite 1st TBS episode - January 5, 2022
I think Danielson as TNT champion has legs, but I also think he has so much non-championship needed drawing power right now, although there is the argument that the belt is a bit aimless right now. He would bring prestige to it. I do feel like he wants to take this year to travel and really put himself out there on the marquee wherever he can, which is why I always bring up New Japan, and feel like him taking on Okada this summer and being a major part of the G1 is almost a given, and if that’s what he wants to do? I don’t know how you make him part of the title picture right now.

Gabe was an agent and helped with production IIRC. He originally was a consultant but got brought in full time once EVOLVE shuttered.

AEW Dynamite 1st TBS episode - January 5, 2022
I think they’re gonna keep Omega and Danielson separate for a very long time because I feel like Danielson has a list of things he wants to accomplish, and many of those involve New Japan. Him putting over Page means that they can really play the long game in letting Danielson and Omega face off for the title again, because I don’t think you want Page to drop the belt to either of them. You still have Punk/Page on the table, which can lead to Punk/Omega, which can come back to Omega/Danielson.
