A Roster Crunch Is Coming
So it’s pretty obvious that with the NXT makeover, the next several weeks are going to give AEW the opportunity to basically create the roster they’ve always wanted, along with what looks to be significant talent cuts on the main roster, and maybe some folks feeling WWE isn’t what they want it to be. However, even with three hours of TV and the two Dark programs, there is this feeling of a roster crunch when it comes to showcasing talent, and one of things AEW has done well, which is bring along new talent, might not be as highlighted as much when they have to make TV time for so many folks. Is this a good thing? We just saw NXT wither away after being a hit promotion for a spell, and with the major indies basically drying up due to COVID, there’s going to be a top down push thanks to who AEW can bring in. Is this gonna be to their detriment? Or will they be able to actually make things happen with basically every non-WWE talent at their disposal?

NXT TakeOver 36 Triple H's last stand
There really isn't much that can be done for basically everyone on this show tonight, really. It really does have a Final Nitro feel to it.

NXT TakeOver 36 Triple H's last stand
An incredible match, WALTER going out like that is something else, but if he was going to be beat, it had to be because Ilja just wouldn't stop, and it was a the right finish for exactly that. I have no clue what happens next with either of them.

NXT TakeOver 36 Triple H's last stand
I have no idea if Vince wants anything to do with Trevor Lee, but he’s one of the few folks I could see really hitting his stride on the main roster if given a shot.

Mookie needs to crunch the numbers on how much money that promo just made the company.

I would die laughing if this was all some Colt Cabana troll job, but yeah, he’s showing up tonight. Has to.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Minoru Suzuki just announced a ton of US dates, too, sounds like the Japanese folks who can make it over are going to take advantage.

AEW Dynamite - August 18, 2021
I’m happy with the booking, at least, as having MJF go over clean like that was better than the alternative. But it does leave Jericho without much to go on going forward. Not a bad thing.

WWE TV 08/16 - 08/22 avoiding political topics much like [REDACTED] avoided responsibility
Weird cut for sure, but him and WALTER have the best build by far for anything on Sunday. None of the other matches grab me like that one does.

Dante Martin vs. Lee Moriarty should rule.

Current New Japan
It sounds like the Ibushi rematch isn’t in the cards right away, but now the build to another match with Ospreay, as he showed up as a surprise at last night’s LA show. And had a face off with TJP. This company, man.

Triplemania XXIX Thread 8/14/2021
Seems a bit strange that Andrade didn’t go over, as you’d think with AEW hitting their stride that Kenny would be focused completely on being the champ there with the Bryan/Punk Possibilities and the Page match to come. But maybe they set up a rematch down the road?

WWE TV 08/09 - 08/15 NXT is no more
Nak’s plan was always to end up in the US so I don’t think he really gives a fuck about hitting his ceiling. KUSHIDA is a timing thing more than anything else. Guys like him were all the rage before he came in, and then it was as if once he came in they had no idea what to do with him AND they kept folks in the mix for too long.

Greatest Feud of the 90s Tournament: Second Round
- AEW Dynamite - August 11, 2021
Have to think there’s a schmozz to set up a blowoff for Jericho/MJF, plus Bucks/Lucha Bros, Andrade/PAC, Mox/Tanahashi, Black needs a match, etc., and if they decide to do something with Punk off the bat. You also wonder if Dunne re-signs, because if not, he can show up. I think there’s a lot they’re holding steady on because they need to make sure certain things are in place.- All Elite Wrestling
My decision to stop following a bunch of wrestlers on IG and getting off Twitter entirely seems to be working well.- Greatest Feud of the 90s Tournament, Opening Round
- R.I.P. "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton
Just a true natural for the business. Everything he did looked great, and every move in his arsenal, from a simple punch to his stuff off the top, is in the running for the best version of the move ever done. He just absolutely got pro wrestling in a way few others did, and he was someone I grew to admire even more as I got older. The health issues he had recently were sad to hear, and now that he’s gone, it’s gonna linger for me a while. A true joy to watch, as he was such a fixture in my childhood when I got into wrestling. Gonna miss him terribly.- AEW Dynamite - August 4, 2021
I just wish he wasn’t a piece of shit. That was a fun six-man. Highlighted everyone on the winning team well.- AEW Dynamite - July 28, 2021 - Fight for the Fallen
I feel Danielson beating Omega and then Hangman beating Danielson would be even better for Hangman. And Danielson unquestionably would be willing to do it. - AEW Dynamite - August 11, 2021
