My running theory on Raw that night is that they had bigger fish to fry than the television show. Get SOMETHING on tv to fill the space and satisfy the advertisers, and move on.
  2. Can you listen to your music through Bluetooth in your car? My iphone connects through Bluetooth and listening to podcasts is a breeze. At home, either through your laptop or invest in a small Bluetooth speaker.
  3. Something I think would make a lot of sense. Face wins MITB, heel champion places bounty on him. Would make a lot of sense for someone like Lesnar who would become part of the storyline without actually being there every week.

If this means less MasterChef episodes on Fox I'm doubly excited.
  5. Brutus Beefcake springs to mind.
  6. Briscos wrestled their last match February 9. Jack quit wrestling entirely at that point. Hillbilly Jim broke his leg in late February so he was out of action at Mania time.
  7. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 26. I never thought the retirement stipulation would stick.
  8. The origins of the scaffold match
  9. Just finished episode two. I think there's some cognitive dissidence decrying Vince McMahon taking over professional wrestling when you just spent an hour describing how your grandfather built a wrestling promotion by literally assaulting people.

I felt Nia was hurt being in a match (well, two) where she is practically twice the size of her opponent who is not cheating especially notably and it takes ten minutes to beat her. Bliss looks sympathetic because shes hanging with a much larger opponent. If its just Bliss saying mean things, it doesnt make Nia look good because Alexa is willing to step in the ring and back it up.
  11. Yeah, Bruiser was a notorious non-bumper too.

Celebrate with Roman Reigns after the 2018 Rumble
  13. That sounds really interesting. Thanks for the recommendation.

It's an outdoor show though. Edit: Looking at a weather app it should be around 83 degrees Fahrenheit at 7pm local. Given that football stadiums have shade and the show is at night, they'll be fine.

Of course without the fever he may not have been inspired to take up weightlifting.

10 year partnership.... I wonder how long WWE can stack cards like this until it bites them in the ass. Its geeat short term. But Im the long run people are going to tire of the product, WWE wont be able to sustain interest and there could be a massive drop.
  17. Moolah as trainer is the area where I think criticism is most undeserved. She taught a boring style, but it was also a safe style. Given what we've seen come of wrestlers in the last 15-20 years, I can't criticize that. The pimping allegations, I haven't heard a single first-hand account of a girl being pimped. Everyone is reporting the same rumors but if there are no victims stepping forward, I don't think there's much you can do with that. It's a heavy accusation. Moolah as a wrestler though I have no use for, and she was actively harmful to the product once Vince went national.

Probably counting on an infusion of Saudi investors this weekend.

Thought this after the Jericho interview but man, Sammartinos mother was a goddamned saint.

Bruno Sammartino was probably one of the more admirable people wrestling ever had. He'll be missed.

Agreed here. Picking a good partner wouldve been completely out of character and wouldnt have fit the angle. I thought James Ellsworth wouldve fit the spirit of the angle and gotten a decent pop. Picking a random kid fits the angle.

Most international shows are put together with a roster thats best described as meeting contractual obligations and little more. What the hell kind of money are the saudis putting up for this?!
  23. Andre the Giant, Vader, Undertaker, Kane, Henry, all those guys were effective at least til they turned 40. Not prime effective, but certainly in a way that didn't hurt their drawing power. Strowman's 34, if he has six years left do you worry much about his age? If there's a size bias, it's that super-heavyweights tend to make it to the top faster than average sized workers, and the mileage on their bodies may hasten their demise.

Im hoping for James Ellsworth as Brauns partner.

On second thought, maybe they shouldve named this after Moolah.
