WWF announcing debate mega-thread
Well, that's just one example. Gotta love when a wrestler applies a submission and Monsoon immediately starts undercutting the hold, saying no one would ever submit to it.

1990 hype!
Awesome, glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun doing it as well. I'd like to eventually do one for each of them.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
I was not aware of either of those, but I am not surprised. I also forgot that he said Magnum TA's car accident was either alcohol or drug related (can't remember which).

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
Whether someone was a headliner is a matter of opinion, I guess. This is the dumbest thing Scott Keith has ever said.

That's his whole act. The guy you can ask stuff about wrestling history who always has the inside track.

That is a joke, right?

Aces & 8's Questions
Heel Undertaker and Kevin Sullivan ... wow. The awesome on-screen pairing that never happened.
-
Aces & 8's Questions
It's better than the hummer angle, as bad as it was. Kevin Nash vs Randy Savage may be the single worst main event program in history.
-
Aces & 8's Questions
I can try, although they didn't so much have plot holes as they did dropped storylines in mid-stream. Still, yes, it's worth a shot.

Aces & 8's Questions
My early idea for the 1998-1999 yearbooks is to keep a separate thread jokingly explaining all of the things during that time that made no sense, like Undertaker and Kane's relationship, the Greater Power, HHH and Stephanie's roofie-based marriage, etc.

Aces & 8's Questions
Yeah, won't this be the third NWO rehash attempt since Hogan came on board in 2010 if they do that? There was the thing early on with Hall and Nash, and then whatever that angle was with Jeff Hardy where both turned heel.

Aces & 8's Questions
Oh, I guess it's something TNA-related.

Legends of Wrestling (WWE) - NWO
I never bought that, because how could Hall and Nash have just left a few months after debuting?
-
Legends of Wrestling (WWE) - NWO
Something he arranged that has been forgotten is the dumb Steve Austin challenge that Goldberg did on Jay Leno.

Other 1995 worth watching
Is that a New Japan match?

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
The ad revenue thing is something that has hurt the company and that they still haven't overcome, so I think it's valid. I remember some ads for investment companies and luxury cars creeping in during the Monday Night Wars in 1998. No way that would happen now.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
You were the one who challenged Chigusa being a Madonna figure. Why does it seem like you're just trying to consistently disagree with everyone, no matter their viewpoint? And by the way, I love this. The best pro wrestling thread possible for a gay wrestling fan!

So would Chigusa Nagayo be more like Tiffany or Debbie Gibson, if we're looking for an 80s star to make a comparison? At their peak, both were bigger stars than Hogan or Austin, so it's still impressive.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Well, that's the case for everything in wrestling. Russo isn't unique there. The vision of wrestling that draws people in is the standard they compare everything else to.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
I looked at Classics and couldn't get anything to come up in a search on this. But I know for a fact I've seen him say this. I will continue searching for it. If it's not true, then it's not true. So be it. But it stood out to me at the time I read it, because the idea that the Crush Girls had that type of influence on the pop culture of the time seemed pretty impressive.

1990 hype!
By the way, goodhelmet has been hard at work all day today tying up loose ends. We're getting there.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
Sure. I am not the first person to make that case by the way. Dave has said it himself. I hate to cite that as my evidence, but ... it is my evidence. He did a post at Classics once explaining it that I will try to find.

1990 hype!
It is here, and it is very close to how you remember it. Glad there's so much interest in this one. This is the perfect "jumping on" point.

Who is Madusa? Is it you? Is it me?
