I'm confused, but this is hot and looks to be a great angle. Not sure why Konnan and Caras are teaming, or why Satanico and Perro are teaming for that matter. Did Satanico turn on Perro? Is this a Konnan turn? Evil clowns interfere and unmask as Los Gringos Locos and some other guy. Who is that? Help me out.

Another very good match between these two. It's not as fast-paced as King of the Ring, but I think I like it about the same. Kid makes a good showing and the match has quite a bit of heat. I agree that doing the DQ finish when Owen is about to challenge for the title is a curious decision.

BUDDY LANDELL! Brian Christopher has found a partner to face Doug Gilbert and Tommy Rich. Weird seeing Budro as a babyface at any point before late 1995, but this is 1994 USWA booking, so he'll turn soon and then disappear. But this promo actually made me laugh out loud, as Buddy says he agreed to team with Brian Christopher because he loaned Doug Gilbert $30 to replace a fan belt on his truck and Doug never paid him back. That's it. Wrestling has peaked. He also recalls Tommy Gilbert slapping him in the locker room when he was a young punk. Buddy Landell is the Toshiaki Kawada of promos -- 3/4ths legit, baby!

Walter Payton will be in Razor's corner at Summerslam. They are already building the Yokozuna/Undertaker rematch. Cornette says Yoko won't be at Summerslam because he has no top flight competition, although the announcers are saying it's clear that Yoko is scared of Undertaker. Cornette says if the Undertaker was there he would step on his toes and spit in his eye! Shawn feels like he's undercutting another heel more than just a little in this.

This is a really intense match, which is apparent by both guys looking tired after seven minutes of just working the mat. This is laid out beautifully and executed even better, as the matwork is pretty hard-fought and the bombs get a huge reaction. Neither guy can really earn any momentum because there is so much of a fight for everything. It's more a case where they both luck into opportunities, like Hashimoto throwing an arm wringer of all things out of pure desperation to stop Koshinaka from throwing Germans and powerbombs. This is wrestled like a really good All Japan Carnival match with the awesome close calls toward the end of this 30-minute draw. One of the better New Japan matches of the year. A quick look at the WON list for the year has this getting ****. Can anyone confirm if it was edited for TV?

I took taking away the mats as kayfabed encouragement to wrestlers to keep it in the ring. On the surface, mats are illogical because wrestling isn't supposed to happen out there. But either way, I agree that it was poorly explained. I do know that mats are one of those big "Look at how fake this is" things that non-fans like to harp on.

Another good match between these two. This is an odd WCW Saturday Night taping from the Worldwide Arena. Dustin/Buck is the main event after interactive voting. Dustin has his arm in a cast, still selling the injury from the Bash at the Beach post-match, and Buck works it over. The Stud Stable tries to get froggy with Dustin after the match and Dusty jumps. Dusty closes us out with a hot promo.

Anyone SMW wants to put in the ring with him, go for it, and they will beat him like his they beat his ancestors. He badmouths Martin Luther King as a disclaimer is flashed on the screen that the views of The Gangstas are only theirs.

Sid Vicious and Spike Huber do a number on TD Steele and Edrick Hines. Holding down two black jobbers and whipping them with a belt in 1994 -- the USWA was a real progressive territory. Jeff Gaylord comes out to play the hero and takes a beating. Gaylord does a stretcher job. As good as it sounds.

Mask vs mask. This was lots of fun, but not really as a match. I was hoping for a sequel that was almost as good as the original. That definitely wasn't the case, as the seconds (Santo and Parka) were way too involved. The skeleton of a great match was still there underneath it all, but there was a lot in the way. Heated like crazy and there is some awesome wrestling here, but there's too much booking and clusterfuckery. One referee takes a beating and juice. The other referee is a rudo all the way and tries to steal the match for Espectrito, but to no avail, as Espectrito loses his mask! I can't help but be entertained by all of this. It's good stuff.

Sweet Jesus. It's been years since I've watched this. Seriously. How did Jericho pull this off? Good Lord. The match itself is pretty strong actually, as the Bodies do a really good job of carrying things. And they are working a really strong match before Jericho covers everyone around him in blood. But wow. Insanity.

Jim Ross! Fresh off of being fired from the WWF. SMW has received quite a few complaints from television stations and even the Knoxville NAACP. All of their interviews from here forward will have a disclaimer, and if they go over the line, they will be censored. New Jack calls the NAACP a bunch of "trained negros in a cage". They make clear that they're here to take on the Rock & Roll Express. They may have beaten all the top teams by wrestling, but they have never been in a fight like The Gangstas would put them through. He tells everyone to kiss his black ass and with that, he's out.
