Cornette in the doghouse again
Scherer is now reporting that Cornette has been fired, but we'll see who confirms it.

Cornette in the doghouse again
Agreed, but the proper reaction to that when it happens is assault??

Cornette in the doghouse again
I didn't justify JBL attacking Meanie. I didn't even really take a side on that, and I blamed it on a lot of factors. Wrestlers shouldn't have to be concerned with promoters PHYSICALLY ATTACKING them. That has nothing to do with his booking talent and more to do with his temper.

Meltzer makes the best typo ever
From yesterday's news update: Maybe it's just (more) proof that I'm really weird, because I've been laughing at this for 10 minutes now and I'm in tears.

Cornette in the doghouse again
If this is true, honestly, he needs to be axed -- great booker or not.

7/7 Smackdown
What's most frustrating is that you'll never hear anyone employed by WWE admit that this was the wrong decision. They'll say the "Nothing is sacred" line and just keep going about their business. They have short memories and can't remember angles from last week, but their fans remember them, and this is bound to turn off some of them.

ECW One Night Stand PPV
In JBL's defense, he threatened to rape Brian Christopher in the ass because Christopher was bragging to everyone in the locker room that he was slipping mickeys to girls he'd go on dates with and then have his way with them after they passed out. JBL was telling him in no uncertain terms that wouldn't be tolerated. JBL is partially, but not fully to blame for the incident with Meanie. Meanie provoked him, which is also part of the problem. They were also stupid and gave him alcohol, so he went into the ring drunk. Just a messy situation all around.

ECW One Night Stand PPV
"I thought the ECW PPV was very good. Because I lived in Texas I had never got a chance to see ECW, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. The interaction with the fans was great. The guys worked as hard as they could work, which is always fun to watch. Sandman?s entrance was probably one of the best entrances I have ever seen in wrestling. It is amazing what works and what doesn?t. If you had said that a guy with a cigarette in his mouth drinking beer would be the highlight of the night, I would think you were crazy. However, it was. Charisma like that is just innate, you can?t teach it. The last match was fun to watch. I have always been a fan of The Dudleys. I thought they put on a great show with Tommy Dreamer. Chris and Eddie had their normal solid outing. Mike Awesome tried to kill himself, and you could tell the fans appreciated it. I missed Lance Storm and Jericho, though I heard it was very good. I wish RVD had been well for this, you could tell how much it meant to him. I, too, thought his promo was very good. I admire hard work and passion and this PPV was full of it." -- JBL in his WWE.com column Maybe people will start calming down now and acknowledge that JBL the character and JBL the person are *different* from each other

Brock Lesner On his way back to the WWE
They had the lowcarders take like a 50% paycut in 2002 so they could bring in Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. I'm sure they just loved that.

Quotable wrestling
"Well, only one thing that I just like to just say to you, sir, and to the wonderful people there, and here, in the United States, which I love so much. And I know that you're all willing to know, individually, and one of us, because, individual's feelings is different. And if you got that feeling, (pause) then your answer is, ladies and gentlemen, only you know."- Jimmy Snuka, 1984

Maybe part of the strategy is to get TNA to expend a lot of money picking these guys up in quick fashion when they really don't have it to spend, causing a downfall. Or maybe that's just the cynic talking.

Brock Lesner On his way back to the WWE
There is MONEY in a Brock/Batista feud, but if I were them, I'd do my damndest to keep them apart until Wrestlemania XXII. Cena is also going to need a blockbuster opponent on the other side to keep from looking anymore second rate than he already does. My God, I'm already talking about Cena and Batista at the next Wrestlemania. Does that mean they've actually ... almost successfully elevated them for good?
