  1. It felt like he had the WWE bumping style down already, so he has that going for him. And that back body drop bump suggests that as far as his working style goes, his calling card is probably as a heel after the new wears off.

They have been so focused on Roman Reigns that they haven't thought to build up strong opponents for him.

That was Survivor Series. He had his first match at the Rumble.

They tried to book Perfect that way. He even got a TV main event with Austin just after this. He got zero crowd reaction and couldn't go in the ring anymore, so it didn't work. They obviously were hoping for the Mr. Perfect comeback story in 2002. Instead, they got the Goldust comeback story in 2002.

    Who is Maggle?

Also, can someone tell me when we actually saw Kofi Kingston's feet hit the floor? Last time I saw him, he was on Big E's shoulder drinking a Pepsi and leading a chant for popcorn. Then the League of Nations went after Roman and they disappeared. What did I miss? When/how was he actually eliminated?

The Wyatt's threw Kane, Show and Henry out with ease. Brock man handled all three Wyatts. He ripped through them. Wyatts were established as the dominating force and he dominated them. Then after being worn down by manhandled three large men he was ganged up on by four large men. No shame there. Frustrating as a Brock fan and wanting to see Brock/Roman II, but no shame. WWE went out of their way to set up an elaborate plot device to have him eliminated and this is the second biggest program for Mania. AJ & Jericho at best can only hope for a distant third. People may groan but I'd like to see AJ vs Y2j at Mania. AJ vs Indy Star has been there done that I'll see it at Payback and it will be good feel to it I saw it as the guy who worked a pay-per-view main event against John Cena without Cena getting any offense at all as taking more punishment than he typically does. It was just odd to see Jericho outlast him, to see Ambrose outlast him, to see the Wyatts outlast him. Those are the guys we see on TV every week that sometimes win and sometimes lose. That's not Brock. It seems like if they booked Brock like they always do, even with that many guys, he'd eliminate them all one by one.

I didn't see the ripping through everyone the same way you did.

Destroying everyone to look good for him but not serve anyone else is how they have booked Brock since WM30, which is why it was odd. It wasn't a consistent portrayal.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Brock & Undertaker against the entire Wyatt Family at Wrestlemania.

Because he made less of a lasting impression than AJ Styles or Chris Jericho? And because he was selling like crazy long before he was eliminated anyway? And because he took his elimination in stride?

At least not in theory. He sure was the returning warrior who returned from the sidelines to seek revenge tonight.

It wasn't rejection in the moment, but considering they are building to Roman getting his moment, I think the ultimate end result will be yet another rejection.

This was the most perplexing booking of a Royal Rumble I can recall since, well, last year. And to me, it's an alarming level of being out of touch when fans seem to reject the Wrestlemania direction for the third year in a row. Anyway, it was all over the place: - Kevin Owens has more courage and can fight through pain better than Roman Reigns - HHH won cleanly and honestly - Brock is just a guy - There is no hook for HHH-Reigns because Reigns wasn't wronged. If anything, he's the one that looks like the opportunist because he came back to the match so late - Chris Jericho is the guy they see as their best workhorse There's no real rhyme or reason to what they are thinking, at least not that I can decipher.

I love gimmick. The gimmick is a bit trite, but I think it could be overcome. The problem is the booking. The zero rationale for who they attack. They attack a random person. Spout some Mumbai jumbo and feud for four months and lose. Complain about Raven all you want at least his feuds had progression and his promos motivation. The Wyatt's like most things in WWE are half baked The promos are bad poetry and rarely make any sense.

Somehow, Daniel Bryan rumors have spread, even though Dave has been as clear as possible that everyone he has spoken to in WWE has told him there are no plans. Because of that, I wouldn't be surprised if people end up disappointed when he's not there and he manages to ruin it for the third consecutive year, despite being pretty removed from the picture. This could all be solved if they would just come out and say "He's never returning" if that is indeed the case.

Jacqueline was very over in WCW when Kevin Sullivan would throw guys outside the ring every week so she could beat them up.
  18. The word "reaction" is key. Crowd involvement is different than crowd "reaction" to wrestling that reaches out and engages them.

I wish I had time to watch a few highlights of 2000-present Joshi. I'd like to at least see wrestlers like Azumi Hyuga, Arisa Nakajima and Kana and make some determinations from there. Also, is anyone ranking Sara Del Ray? I've never actually seen one of her matches.
  22. I have no idea yet how but all of these at a minimum with possibly more: Aja Kong Akira Hokuto Bull Nakano Chigusa Nagayo Devil Masami Dump Matsumoto Dynamite Kansai Manami Toyota Mariko Yoshida Mayumi Ozaki Meiko Satomura Megumi Kudo Shinobu Kandori I need to think more about: Cutie Suzuki Kyoko Inoue Lioness Asuka Plum Mariko Sakie Hasegawa Takako Inoue Toshiyo Yamada
  23. I'll start a thread for that.
  24. I'll check it out!
  25. More people will submit ballots without Joshi representation than without lucha representation in the end, I think. I wish neither would happen, but lucha won't be the genre hardest hit. Joshi may not be either, for that matter, just saying.
