  1. Last few minutes. Benoit sure knows how to work with Sid to make him look more competent. This is pretty decent. Sid wins the U.S. title, but the match doesn't seem to get over much.
  2. Last few minutes. Looks okay but nothing special. Not that I would expect it to be. Harlem Heat win the tag titles, pretty much ending the West Texas Rednecks gimmick.
  3. I can honestly say I listened to this whole thing and I have no idea what Dreamer is even talking about. He's cutting a promo on TNN and mentions a New York vs Philly rivalry. He announces that he has two herniated discs in his back and is ready to make a decision about his career. Steve Corino interrupts. The crowd must have chanted something offensive because the sound is muted. Words are exchanged and Corino and friends end up laying out Dreamer and even Francine. Corino ends up wrapping Dreamer in barbed wire before Raven makes the save. Why is there a pinfall counted when this isn't a match?
  4. Sit down interview with this Terry Golden fellow that every heel in KAW hates so much. I can sort of see why. He puts over the KAW crew as the renegade company pushing great workers who work outlaw shows all over the south while Lawler, Dundee and Jarrett created an environment of nepotism. Lots of swearing and insider terms. This interview serves as a really interesting and somewhat cynical take on Memphis wrestling history. He wants a match with Bill Dundee. Dundee can choose the match and he'll put everything he has on the line, and only wants one thing in return, but will not say what it is for some reason. That's odd.
  5. Nick Dinsmore and Buddy Landell (!!!) hype an upcoming match against Louisville Gardens in a pair of promos. Buddy still looks pretty good and can still cut a hell of a promo.
  6. Vic is out with a new look to respond to what Cornette and Synn said. He denies all of this and Steve Bradley attacks Grimes from behind after Cornette distracts him. Corny throws powder in Grimes' eyes and he and Bradley continue their attack. Synn whips Grimes multiple times with a belt. No heat for this stuff.
  7. Synn is in Power Pro with Jim Cornette, but they kayfabe who she is. She claims that she's Vic Grimes' former girlfriend and he ruined her life with his drinking habits and had a kid with another woman.
  8. Last few minutes. Lance Storm and Justin Credible run in and attack both guys.
  9. Now this is what I’m talking about. It doesn’t hurt that the match is filled with quite a few guys I love, but I like how they work this. It’s all action from the beginning and then they sustain it. Great finish to the first fall with Olimpico eating that top rope backwards thing. It’s still weird seeing Santo and Casas on the same team but Casas has great babyface fire - I’m really impressed at how well he can switch things up. Olimpico gets incredible hang time on his top rope crossbody that set off the fall two finish. Love Negro Casas going after Dr. Wagner Jr. Now there’s a feud I could get into. Really hot third fall with Santo shining both working from underneath and showing his great athleticism and fluidity. The Santo-Panther showdown was really presented as something special. Here’s the CMLL I’ve been looking for. It’s on the short side but still great, and I’m glad we got what we got.
  10. JIP. Foley takes a big bump from the entrance to the pile of dirt. HHH interferes and attacks Big Show and opts to bury Mankind alive himself. Undertaker and Show win the tag titles even though HHH did the work. Kind of a lame ending to the match. An ambulance pulls up, and Austin jumps out (with entrance music, of course) and attacks HHH. They brawl all over the dirt. He ends up loading HHH in the ambulance then running over it with a diesel. Too over the top.
  11. Jeff Jarrett is embarrassed to be getting in the ring with Chyna. The Fabulous Moolah and the incomparable Mae Young are at ringside! Jarrett asks Moolah to come to the ring and praises her briefly before he ends up smashing her with a guitar and putting Mae Young in a figure four leglock. This managed to get Jarrett over with this crowd for a change.
  12. Highlights of the Jericho-Shamrock feud to this point start us off. Shamrock comes in the ring and wants Jericho, since Jericho promised to confront him face-to-face on Smackdown. Jericho makes it to the ring but descends into the ring in a cage. Jericho shows the Polaroid he make Finkel take when he had Shamrock in the Walls and taunts Shamrock, who can't get his hands on him. Howard Finkel is supposed to be raising the cage to get Jericho out of there, but Lillian Garcia is arguing with the Fink about how he has been treating her lately and Shamrock gets in the cage and gets his hands on Jericho. He has to be pulled off of Jericho, and Tony Garea ends up taking a belly-to-belly suplex. In a funny moment, Jericho asks Finkel to open the door for him, then says he's fired and peels out.
  13. Patterson, Brisco and Linda come out to congratulate Stephanie and Test. Stephanie announces that they will marry on 10/11 and everyone in WWF Land is invited. The Mean Street Posse interrupt. Why is Terri Runnels with them? I don't remember that storyline twist. Stephanie wants them to just leave her and Andrew alone, which brings out Shane. Shane asks the MSP to leave the ring because the war with Test is over. Shane apologizes to everyone in the ring for his actions of late and tells Stephanie she has his blessing and that he is finished fighting.
  14. Interesting video package recapping the history of Sting and Lex Luger over the past ten years. I like the nod to history, but WCW was past going back to 1995 now. They were going back to 1991.
  15. The first ever women's hardcore match sees Ivory and Tori brawl into the shower. Jacqueline pops up out of the other shower and says "What the hell is going on here?" in a hilarious moment. They end up brawling into a men's locker room. This is a really fun brawl, actually. Ivory breaks a mirror over Torrie's head for the finish, then burns her on the back with an iron!
  16. Al Snow comes out dressed as Avatar for some reason. Self-referential crap. Snow's humor never worked in a wrestling sense - he was probably a funny guy in person, but not at all when he tried to do WWF comedy. The idea is that he has lost his mind and is hallucinating and suddenly realizes he's in the Avatar outfit and freaks out. Then he starts barking for no apparent reason. Okay then. Meanwhile, Michael Cole interviews The Rock and Mankind. Rock does a few funny impersonations, even though I can't stand him rewatching this stuff. They hype the Buried Alive match on Smackdown against Undertaker and Big Show.
  17. The Dudleys are now in the WWF. Bubba Ray is doing his stuttering gimmick again. The Acolytes attack them mid-promo.
  18. Val Venis stands next to Big Show at a urinal and cracks on Show's penis size. Show attacks him.
  19. Pretty funny Tae Bo parody centered around Ernest Miller.
  20. Hogan is talking to Bret when Sting and Luger barge into the locker room. Sting wants an explanation when the locker room goes dark and we hear some type of attack.
  21. THE MAESTRO plays piano during Sid's in-ring attack of everyone in sight, which creates a beautiful paradox. That was tremendous. He stops when Sid starts his promo with threatening words for Benoit.
  22. Bret is back! Finally, the announcers are treating him like a big deal. He has come back because there is one match that has eluded him in his career - he wants a match with Hulk Hogan. It doesn't even have to be a title match, although it would be great if it was. He has to know if he can get that match before he agrees to come back for another run. He's a total babyface here.
  23. Corino calls Tajiri the most overrated wrestler of all time, but Tajiri seems okay with that because he doesn't understand English. Corino is upset because Tajiri didn't defeat Taz. Then he goes on a rant about MSG in Chinese food and dry cleaning. It looks like Tajiri is about to turn babyface, but it was all a setup to lure Super Crazy out and get laid out. Crazy responds by diving on Corino's entire entourage and we segue to Super Crazy vs Tajiri from there! The action here is good, but the match doesn't get to that level for me because they don't really sell much outside of the moment of impact. Crazy wins clean with a powerbomb.
  24. Jerry Lawler is returning to Louisville! He has words for Kenny Bolin. He's coming in to be Damaja's partner and help take care of business in a stretcher match. "Oh My God, they killed Kenny" is a very 1999 promo line.
  25. Jim Cornette has a neckbrace and a sling and he cuts a promo from home injured. He promises revenge on the Memphis Mafia and gives Kevin Christian full authority to run Power Pro in his absence.
