  1. The Dudleys plan to destroy ECW on their way out the door. They call Tommy Dreamer out and the Dudleys destroy him for a few minutes before Raven makes a surprise appearance, fresh off of departing WCW, to win the tag titles with Dreamer. Pretty cool moment.
  2. Final match between these two teams, as the Duds are on the way out. Balls goes through the thumb tacked table again? Give it a rest, guys. The Duds regain the tag titles.
  3. A really fun match, and an especially good choice for the first (well, second, but first non-recap) TNN show to demonstrate what these guys can do, but also on the short side. Still, very fun.
  4. Big Boss Man gives Pepper back to Al Snow ... in the form of Pepper Steak. Yuck. Al Snow gags and Boss Man attacks him with the food in a hotel room. Pretty God awful. This was scripted by the guy we thought would save WCW!
  5. This has been done a million times before on here. I like when Henry and Show do good work but the Raw match is horrid. Saying otherwise is essentially saying they can't have a bad match ever. Again how terrible of a match do they need to have before the whole shoehorned cerebral and deliberate thing is dropped? If they were that smart of workers they would have found ways to not further kill off the crowd. How many times do you have to be politely asked to stop generalizing the entire board? And how many times do you plan to ignore the request? STOP with the "on here" crap. Every time someone makes a post that you disagree with, you make it an indictment of PWO as a whole. It's dishonest and rude. STOP.

  7. News feature on the WWF's action figure marketing. Don't call them dolls because homophobia or something. Remember that the WWF doesn't market to children.
  8. Last few minutes. Paul Bearer shows Undertaker something and Taker leaves the ringside area, leaving Show to fend for himself. He holds his own, even after the hot tag. The announcers do try hard to put Show over but he's not clicking in the WWF and hasn't all year. After a ref bump, Rock attacks Show with a chair and he and Mankind do a double people's elbow. The Rock & Sock Connection win the tag titles.
  9. Howard Finkel interrupts Ken Shamrock to direct his attention to the Titantron, then takes off running only for Jericho's entrance to start. Jericho's interrupts via Titantron and challenges Shamrock to a match on Smackdown. Then we cut to Mankind and Rock talking strategy with Rock talking down Mankind's idea of doing the People's Elbow.
  10. The Rock has words for Undertaker and Big Show when Mankind interrupts. He tells Rock he doesn't have to take them on alone and that he wants to be his partner with the tag titles on the line. The Rock agrees to the match, but Rock insists that Mankind never steal his catchphrases again. Mankind tries to join Rock in "If ya smellll ...." to Rock's chagrin. Meat is making his entrance to the ring when Terri Runnels stops to put the moves on The Rock before blowing her off. GTV shows up on the Titantron and we see Meat and Marianna making sweet love, which was what we heard earlier. This sets off a brawl between Meat and Chaz, and Terri and Marianna have a catfight too.
  11. Al Snow is trying to find Pepper. Another "classic" feud from the Attitude Era. We hear sex happening in the background which I don't remember the explanation for.
  12. Last few minutes. Goldberg is FIP, which is all wrong. He is so directionless. Match ends up in a DQ when DDP attacks Goldberg with a chair. We cut to the back and see Sting walking into Hogan's dressing room to find Savage in there. Is that supposed to prove something?
  13. Gene brings out Luger, who says he has evidence that Hogan can't be trusted. Luger has an envelope and asks Sting to come see what he has. He reveals a picture of Hogan next to the hummer. Whatever. This brings Hogan out. The hummer was black before and now it's white. Hogan and Sting arguing and Luger stirring up trouble. It really is late 1995 all over again. Sting seems to be questioning Luger, and DDP takes the opportunity to come out and suckerpunch Hogan. Hogan doesn't even sell it. Hogan and Sting end up in a shouting match and Sting enters the ring. There was a right way to put Hogan's integrity in doubt, but this?
  14. The West Texas Rednecks issue a challenge to Harlem Heat, which results in a brawl breaking out. Harlem Heat vs Barry and Kendall Windham is supposed to mean something? Hennig and Duncum are part of the stable, but the Windhams are the center of this. Both members of Harlem Heat get hogtied.
  15. This was a fantastic debut, but WCW had no ideas for how to do anything with the character after creating it. Mentioning Bagwell firmly establishes him as a midcarder right out of the gate.
  16. This is the Midnight Express vs Rock & Roll Express of AAA minis matches, with Octagoncito and La Parkita as the Rock & Rolls - getting the advantage early and showing off their great highspots - and Negro and Psicosis as the MX - starting off rough, suffering from miscommunication and doing some great doubleteam moves when they finally take control. Add in the unique things these guys do and you have all the makings of a great tag match. Octagoncito defies nature - there are times when I’d swear I’m watching in fast forward. Layered on top of all that is a balls-out spotfest that’s just great.
  17. Pretty great match. Nothing touches their 1997 match for me, but I think this is the second best of their series. I like the selling in this to go with the usual brutality. The extended selling got this over as a very special match.
  18. We are all smug about what we like and don't like sometimes. I'm willing to give him a pass.
  19. Another match between these teams? I'll take it. Not as good as the first match, which is fine, but this might as well be a Bubba Ray vs Spike singles match since the camera almost never focuses on the other pairing. They lost me when they did the stuff with the referee where he tried to double clothesline them. I don't think this was a bad match, but it was bloated. Bubba Ray looks excellent in this, but he also seems like a selfish worker, with at least 80% of the sequences seeming designed to make him look good. Spike goes through the double flaming tables and I think after all this time, it's about time the Dudleys get a taste of their own medicine and have to take the bump. It's good to see Balls and Spike get the win, but the body of the match did more to make the Dudleys - and more specifically, Bubba Ray - look like the star of the show. There is some good stuff in this match for sure, but the flaws take it down a few notches.
  20. Corino expresses sadness over what Tommy Dreamer did to Jack Victory. He admires Victory's courage continuing to make it to all the ECW shows despite his condition. Taz should be in jail for what he did to Rhino.
  21. That genius Paul Heyman sure did a lousy job of helping Amy Dumas find the right persona in comparison to the WWF. Here, she's this gum-chewing and trashy broad.
  22. Last few minutes sees Rob Conway retain the OVW title by defeating Damaja in a hardcore match. Trailer Park Trash prevents a heel beatdown after the match, but he only prolongs the inevitable, as Bull Buchanan also runs in. A fun brawl spills into the concessions area. This would be fun if it wasn't so derivative of the early 80s Tupelo brawls, but everything Jim Cornette books is derivative.
