The Dean match at Starrcade should be there, but yeah, didn't like the one with Jericho. -
Are there are any standout matches from his feud with Muraco? I haven't seen anything from that feud that I can recall. I have seen some stuff from the Jake feud that I have enjoyed.

I'm not even sure what I mean by "meaningful", but thanks for the example. What about stateside? I enjoy lots of his matches too, but I think a guy who mostly has matches with dead crowds is something that has to work against him.

Just to balance this out with some criticism, has Finlay ever gotten his style over in a meaningful way? Are there any super heated Finlay matches?

The Michaels-Mankind match at Mind Games is made even more impressive when you consider that they didn't do a single hot nearfall, yet managed to keep the crowd engaged for 27 minutes.

Just putting this out there ... it may not be a bad idea for someone to cap all of these, if they haven't done so already. I'd hate for them to disappear and be gone forever because no one saved them.

He did, but I think Kawada and Kobashi did too. Kawada was often a grumpy jerk and Kobashi was a classic babyface.

Denzel's Friend does a promo on steps outside somewhere hyping November To Remember. This is pretty good. He's attacked from behind by Jack Victory and I have a problem with that since the setting isn't clearly established enough, kind of like when WCW would run angles in front of a green screen in the early 90s. It's pretty bush league.

This is worked a little differently from their first match. Tempers flare in the first fall more than they typically do in a title match, but considering the finish of the 10/23 match that's exactly as it should be. There is more urgency this time around and less feeling out. Halcon Negro is more of a heel in the body of the match too. Stylistically, the first match is more up my alley, but the two matches really work best in tandem as a viewing experience anyway. Negro unmasked when this was over but I got the feeling that he did it voluntarily because this wasn't wrestled at all like a wager match. This was another great match and a fitting follow-up that showcased high-flying more than matwork and did a great job of it. I really enjoyed this series.

Yeah, if I just can't stomach a wrestler, I'm not going to vote for him either. Personal biases are going to be there, and they should be, since it's not like there's a version of this list that can represent the all-knowing truth. It's just important to me to try to be fair, all while knowing it's impossible.

This played like DDP getting a reward for giving Goldberg such a good match the night before. He also had what may have been Bret's best match of the year here. This was excellent. His WCW character is not his WWF character, as even heel Bret in the WWF didn't really hide foreign objects or use the ropes for leverage. But they still crafted a good match with a title change and a strong post-match angle to boot. Forget about this as WCW giving Bret a top spot on the show or anything like that. Business was declining and Hogan was phasing himself down while Goldberg, Bret, Flair and Nash would be more heavily featured.

I've had this conversation with a few people. Everyone is of course entitled to make their ballot however they want, but I am trying to step outside of myself a little bit and not just list wrestlers in the order that I enjoy watching them. I think greatness encompasses something more than just what I like. If someone is great in the ring, whether I personally enjoy them or not, they should get a spot on my list. How does everyone else feel about this? Can anyone else point to admittedly great wrestlers that they just don't like?

I think a better way to phrase that is to compare President of the United States to the mayor of a town of 1500 people. The mayor may get more legislation that he wants. He may win by larger majorities. But does that make him a better politician?

Warrior says the match last night will haunt him forever, which is one of the most logical things he has ever said. He vows revenge. The NWO show up to confront him, but Warrior sends them all out one-by-one - first Horace, then The Giant, and finally Hogan. This ended up being Warrior's last segment ever and he was paid to sit at home and finish out his contract.

Gene is here to interview Nash when Scott Hall shows up. Nash tells Hall he didn't pin him because the match wasn't about winning or losing - he wins when Hall gets his life together. Hall realizes he needs to change his ways but it's all a swerve, as Giant blindsides Nash and they throw him through a wall.

The Horsemen are doing their usual promo when Eric Bischoff shows up feigning sincerity. He says he's a big enough man to admit that he was wrong. He knows everyone wants to see Flair back in the ring, so to show Flair that he has a good heart, he's going to allow him to wrestle tonight. The payoff to this (not shown) was just showing a clip of Flair getting his ass kicked by Hogan at Bash at the Beach '94.
