TNA's Highs and Lows
I think 2002-2014 was a real low point for TNA.

Your personal most Overrated and Underrated
Speaking of, I think Finlay is overrated. He works really stiff and his shit looks good, but I don't think his match layouts are really good most of the time, plus I think he has a tendency to eat up his opponents too much. I enjoy watching him because of his execution, but I think his matches sometimes lack psychology.

I always thought Malenko was decently over in WCW. Definitely more than someone like Finlay anyway. He definitely wasn't as over as Benoit and Eddy in WCW.

What is the context of that?

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
They wanted people to see Hogan before they went to bed.

I do think a big part of the Flair criticism over signature spots is that he has signature defense just as much as he has signature offense. Bret has his sternum-first turnbuckle bump and Shawn has his flip, but Flair is mostly unique in that he has so much signature defense.

He usually does an admittedly weird looking punch thing. Sort of like Steamboat's, but not quite a chop. He's hit it quite a few times, actually, but rarely as a heel.

I think Ric Flair is really great.

Rekindling the spark
This is me. I hated watching wrestling for a while after Benoit killed his family and himself, and this approach is what finally got me back into it. Every time I tried before that, I quickly lost interest.

The Wade Keller Appreciation Thread
I think my point is that most of the people who chant for ECW at shows did not watch ECW when it was around, which I think is on the hypocritical side.

Current WWE
Likely, yes, but that was 411 -> Wrestlezone -> PWInsider, which is a lot of degrees of separation from the original report.
-
Current WWE
Anyone here see the PWInsider report that can confirm that?

G-1 Climax
You're not supposed to punch in New Japan, it's "illegal". Punching is illegal, just like outside interference. Rules in wrestling exist to be broken. Punching is illegal everywhere.

Current WWE
I thought the same thing. We'd hear about this for the next twenty years, kinda like the Dr. Death stories that turned him babyface.

Should John Cena Turn Heel?
Because he is a heel ... to half the audience.
-
Should John Cena Turn Heel?
That's the perfect heel response. They want him to tear into them (even chanting for it on the RAW the night after WM 28) and he just won't do it.

Emotion Vs. Physicality
Moves change but I don't think moves are part of standards because moves aren't what make a match good or bad. "Are they working a contemporary style?" is a yes or no question that can be asked of any match in any era. What's contemporary changes, sure. Anyway, I'm cornering myself into arguing something I'm hardly ideological about and I'm not even sure I'm right, so I'll stop.
-
Emotion Vs. Physicality
I'm more likely to criticize something for looking dated for the time than I am just to call it dated by today's athletic standards. I might point it out if I'm watching a 1970s style match in 1994, but I probably wouldn't say that about a match wrestled the same way in 1983. I think saying standards don't change doesn't mean context plays no role at all.

What makes a spot believable/unbelievable?
I know that obviously, I just wanted to hear what explanations might come.
-
What makes a spot believable/unbelievable?
I don't really get hating the Attitude Adjustment and not minding the F5.
-
Emotion Vs. Physicality
That's how I feel about spots on the Spanish announce table. WWE always goes there when they are trying to make a match "big", and it's something that I think should have been left behind back in the early 2000s. It's enough to make me like an otherwise good match a lot less.

Yep. Big Show.
