I really hope the Daniel Bryan interview is pre-taped and done off-site somewhere with him in a neckbrace. I think there's a risk with the crowd reaction doing it live unless the plan is for him to take the neckbrace off and announce that he is 100%.

Stephanie McMahon is the best heel in wrestling. If Heyman beats her for best non-wrestling performer, I might take it personally.

Not speaking the truth for fear of the reaction would be a poor reflection on Dave's integrity and I'm not willing to go that far. He definitely deserves criticism, but I would suspect he said it without putting much thought into it. He has a tendency to do this lately, like when he said both sides had valid points and probably felt they were right when asked about Montreal on the Steve Austin Show, completely contradicting years of his own reporting on that topic.

Then what is the job of a heel, if not to anger an audience? As for fans of the past, they got sucked into the story. Have you never been in a movie theater where people cheer because the bad guy received his comeuppance? Those people didn't think the movie was real. We can't return to that, and I am not even sure we should. And it's a dilemma. If you dim the lights where people can't be seen on TV, the heat for the matches improves most likely. However, for some people, you probably also kill a big part of the appeal of going to a live event that is televised.
