Wrestling is often dismissed as a lie because even in the 1980s, guys like Randy Savage, Rick Rude and the Ultimate Warrior would go on Arsenio Hall or make other media appearances fully in character. That's probably not something Marlon Brando would have ever done. It's those types of things that I think make people go from "I'm watching something scripted" to "I'm watching something deceitful".

    I do think Ambrose has potential as a babyface world champion, which is something I never thought I would say. It doesn't have to happen tomorrow or anything, but I think they could keep the idea in reserve.

    If the network is underperforming, it's really a result of bad promotion more than anything in my opinion. There should be sign-up kiosks at live arenas with a specialist there to answer questions. They should have field sales people going into bars that run PPVs in the major markets to try to sell people on the network. We still hear more about Twitter on an average WWE television program than we do the network.
  4. In terms of a successful promotion featuring great booking and great wrestling, nothing touches 1986 Jim Crockett Promotions for me.
