[2014-04-11-WWE-Smackdown] Hulk Hogan and Daniel Bryan
Say what you want, but even after all these years, Hogan saying someone's name or acknowledging them still makes them seem important to me. This was a big crowd pleasing segment and I think it was another way for WWE to signal to their audience that Daniel Bryan is the guy now. I think they could go overboard with the endorsements to a point that it goes against Bryan's appeal, but doing this once isn't a bad thing at all.

[2014-04-11-WWE-Smackdown] Cesaro vs Big Show
There was so much I loved about this presentation. Cesaro having no entrance music really makes him stand out from the pack and I hope that continues. I also liked how Heyman's managerial guidance actually played a role. Cesaro tabled his instincts to use his strength simply to show off when a suplex to the floor falied and Heyman told him to take away Big Show's air, then started riding him with sleeperholds and other wear-down moves. So good. Show, who's losing mighty svelte these days by the way, attempts a middle rope elbow drop but misses. I didn't care for Swagger coming in because I'd like for Cesaro to move on quickly, but I really enjoyed everything else about this entire presentation. I don't know if this was a great match, but it hit every booking and general presentation note so perfectly that it didn't have to be.

[2014-04-11-WWE-Smackdown] John Cena and The Wyatt Family
Cena as Corporate Hype Man is incredibly annoying. When Bray interrupted and didn't seem too phased that he lost, I thought this feud may be one that has the unique ability to elevate Bray even while losing every match. I'm giving WWE Creative benefit of the doubt in a big way right now since they are doing so much right, so I'll just say we will see.

I would guess HHH sees Daniel Bryan as one of his guys now since he's put him over so convincingly, but The Shield have been an HHH project from day one. I suspect he's going to go overboard putting them over too.- Matches you love, but others don't
I feel like if Flair's win had been too decisive, it might have taken from the moment, whereas the fluke nature of the finish enhanced it. Flair didn't win the match so much as he survived it. It took everything he had and he barely escaped with a win. They were working with the idea of doing a rematch in February, which is ideally where you do the more convincing finish since the feud was being blown off, but SuperBrawl IV is another story. The execution of it was a little sloppy, but I don't think it was so sloppy that it negated the 20 minutes of work that preceded it. Perhaps there are better ways to work a fluke finish than what they did, but I just think the idea of that dragging the entire match down is a little much. So I do get the criticism of that spot and the match would probably be even better with a better finish, but it's just not enough for me to throw out everything that came before it.- Matches you love, but others don't
I would like to know why the people who don't like Flair vs Vader at Starrcade '93 hate life and themselves. It's become a polarizing match over the years because people are trolling me. No other reason.- [2014-03-21-BJW] Daichi Hashimoto & Kazuki Hashimoto vs Kohei Sato & Ryuichi Kawakami

Yes, I agree with Childs once again. I did enjoy this match and would even call it really good, but I don't think it was an elite pick. The third fall was excellent and I thought they did a really good job of getting over the desperation not to lose hair, but this was often a collection of highspots more than it was a real war.- 2 replies
