Could Bryan be booked like Bob Backlund?
I suspect if we look back at the matches of Austin and Bret, we'll find the same thing. Cena is kind of a chameleon worker, so that's what we've been accustomed to seeing out of the top babyface for years now. But Bryan isn't really that much of a departure.

There may be, but this isn't the place to discuss it.

I don't know if this played a part, but Vince apparently feels WWE needs a younger "face" and that's why Stephanie and HHH have been the more visible ones for a while.

Triple H just announced that the Ultimate Warrior passed away
This is a presumptuous and offensive post. Please remember that this board is called Pro Wrestling Only and cool it.

This is some really bizarre timing for sure. I know that his HOF speech made me feel uncomfortable because he seemed so unhealthy and I was worried he was going to collapse any minute. I can't say I'm surprised, sadly, because both at the HOF and on RAW, I was a little worried watching him.

Could Bryan be booked like Bob Backlund?
The cool thing about Bryan is that he is only an underdog because of all the booking obstacles thrown his way. But his in-ring style is pretty aggressive. Put him in a fair fight and he can hold his own against anyone. The issue is that his enemies know this and try to avoid a fair fight at all costs. His wrestling style would work either as a major underdog or an asskicker. Any changes would be in the booking, but they would be minimal in what he actually does bell to bell.

I really want a big Heyman/Zeb argument on RAW next week.

I don't buy that this was the plan all along, mainly because of Bryan moving into the feud with the Wyatts after HIAC, but I also don't really fault WWE too much for that. A good wrestling promotion has a plan in mind, but is flexible when it's clearly not working. It took a lot to get them to change plans, but in the end, they did. And they were able to make it work effectively. And that's all that matters -- not why or how we got here, but that we got here. I watched the post-Summerslam Raw and Smackdown earlier. While Bryan was definitely over there, he is far more popular now. This program has been a huge success in creating a bonafide new star.

I wish PWI's glory days were still around to talk about how his hectic lifestyle could lead to stamina and longevity issues.

Yes, that would have been awesome. Also, I can't stop watching the Adam Rose vignettes. They are so good! I predict instant stardom. Some have compared last night's Raw to the post-WM14 Raw. If that's the case, Adam Rose is Val Venis.

So last night, Hulk Hogan had to get out of the ring quickly so as not to disrupt the key angle involving Claudio Castagnoli. That actually happened.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
This is just me speculating, but I think the days of mass releases are over for fear that investors will have the wrong takeaway from it.
