Current WWE
I could see them thinking doing the breakup of The Shield and Real Americans at the same time is two angles that are too similar, and deciding to hold off the Real Americans split a little longer. So I don't expect anything to happen immediately, but in this case, I think that's okay. As long as he isn't buried or forgotten, he doesn't really have to be pushed to the top next week.

Punk Walks Out of WWE
Yes, and I'm also bored with talk of this being a work. Since when does WWE execute full storylines off of television? WWE doesn't do storylines that they can't beat us over the head with.

Current WWE
Yes, this was an excellent show. Cena vs Cesaro was outstanding. Despite Dave's cynicism, I think there's no way Cesaro isn't a player now. While we're giving Cesaro so much credit, I think we also need to give Cena big credit too. For a guy at his level to take some of those moves and sell so much I think is a huge credit to him. He also had some freakish feats of strength in this match. I popped huge for him pulling himself up to do the DDT the first time Cesaro attempted the giant swing. On that note, they teased that move so many times that while I think it would have gotten a big pop anyway, Cesaro finally getting the move got a huge reaction because they had been dangling it for so long. I think there's something to be learned also. Even if they continue to run with Cena as their guy, he has a fresh opponent who will make him look good and can give him really good matches. Yes, I'd love to see Cesaro take the next step, but I don't feel like they have to rush it as long as they put him in a position to showcase himself every week. In fact, I think a slow burn would be good for him. Let fans be screaming for him to be a top guy and until then, just give him 15 minute matches on every show. While Cesaro gained a lot from that, I think it was also really good for Cena to turn in such a strong performance, show some impressive stuff and also show any doubters that he still has a lot to give. That match was exactly how a top guy versus a star on the rise match should be done where both guys come out of it looking better than they did going in.

Punk Walks Out of WWE
He could throw in some digs at other people (HHH, Vince, Orton, Batista, etc.) to balance it out.

[1993-07-29-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi
Previously at PWO: I don't think the wrong person won here imo. Kobashi was still climbing and I don't think it was quite time for the fans to climax by seeing him at the very top. We all obviously wanted to see it happen as fans because we know in our hearts Kobashi is special. However, seeing Kobashi just inch closer and closer is satisfaction enough. Save the climax of seeing Kobashi at the top for later. That's what makes the match soooo good. It's a conflict of emotions. We see and feel Kobashi getting closer and improving so it leaves us hope but on the other hand it leaves us frustrated as well. It leaves us wanting to watch next time. You should watch their 94 match too. Sorry, I can't think of the date right now. It's excellent and is wrestled differently. Very much story oriented especially when you watch this back to back with the 93 bout. Watch the fans pop for Kobashi in that one. I did!

Favourite & Least-favourite pro-wrestling arena
Nassau Coliseum is the worst, or at least was for a long time. I don't know if that's still the case. Korakuen Hall wins for me as well, but Chicago crowds are pretty consistently awesome.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Going through tagging locations on the topics in the Match Discussion Archive portion of the board, and it's amazing just how much famous and/or great stuff has taken place at Korakuen Hall, and that's just between 1990 and 1993. It feels like if you were a wrestling fan and wanted to see a little bit of everything during this time, your best plan of attack would just be to go to Korakuen, where it seemed like a different wrestling promotion was putting on a show with at least one good-great match almost every night of the week.

Current WWE
Yes, I felt like it was odd for Cena to namedrop the Wyatts in a positive way considering that they've attacked him recently. But on the flip side, that Michael Cole and John Cena are acknowledging it tells me they might be willing to try going in a fresh direction fairly soon. Nothing on WWE TV happens by accident.

[1993-04-17-WCW-Worldwide] Barry Windham vs Steven Regal
Previously at PWO: No, probably not. This is the match where Regal gets his leg stuck in the ropes, correct? Whindam vs Regal is a sentimental favorite from my youth. I remember watching this and flipping to another channel at the same time to make sure I didn't miss what was going on with the other WCW program.

What is good wrestling?
Yeah, I think the money thing is a copout. Yes, that's the goal of wrestling, but that's also the goal of films and the goal of music and the goal of books. Just because something is commercial doesn't mean it has no other merits or goals.
