Posting a picture of a spread anus in as many threads as possible made me think he was spammed until he started individually bashing our posters. You shouldn't see a trace of him now, but please let me know if I missed anything. Rovert, we should have listened I suppose.
  2. There is a reason we opted not to go this direction. I sent jastrau a PM to explain, but if anyone else wants to know why, feel free to PM me as well.
  3. Thought I'd drop this here since I hadn't seen it mentioned elsewhere. The current plan is for Hogan to host Wrestlemania, similar to how The Rock did in 2011.
  4. Yes and no. Jericho improved quite a bit as a worker in WWE, but at the same time, I still think WWE deserves some criticism for not pushing him in spite of what they thought of his talent. He got over pretty big right away and it took a long time for them to do anything with it. In retrospect, the points about his work were probably correct though.

Wow, a Zeb encounter with that pinko hippy Daniel Bryan should really happen, if it hasn't already.

How did they explain Cesaro even being in that tag team in the first place? I wasn't paying close attention at the time.

If they do HHH/Bryan at Mania, Shawn has to be involved in the finish, right?

Also, I don't think the promos were malicious necessarily -- like they hated the guy and didn't want him to be over anymore. I think it was more a case of them being misguided. But if you ask why the chants are so loud but he's not moving the needle, the promos would be my answer to that.

Yeah, I think if people really thought the happy ending was coming, people would invest in Bryan and he would have tangible things we could point to that would show that he's a draw. Because a guy getting that type of reaction and not moving numbers makes no sense otherwise. It just doesn't add up. I would buy that it was just about "Yes" being over if they weren't also chanting his name so much. Clearly there were no plans for the happy ending for him initially. They even briefly tried giving Big Show the "Yes". I think we're going to get it now because fans have forced their hand, so that's a good thing.

I just think back to the Flair model: "I've been in the ring with you, and you are awesome. But I'm better and I'll prove it." "You beat me once. Congratulations. But let's see you do it again."
  11. Since the yearbook threads tend to be very well-received, I thought why limit it to just that. We will have some features available to us with the upgrade that have the potential to make PWO a true Opinion On Anything Ever Database (OOAED??) that is easily searchable. So, I will be slowly expanding this portion of the forum to include a thread about pretty much every relevant and match, angle and interview in the history of pro wrestling where footage exists. We will keep with the current organization of a year folder and month subfolders, and just keep expanding on it to cover wrestling all the way to the modern day. This should be an invaluable resource and encourage all kinds of good discussion. When I create this section of the board, I will also split off existing topics into new threads where relevant. If you talked about more than one match in a single post, I'll just leave the post alone and you can have the option of moving it to the new thread or not. This will be viewable to everyone including guests, but only approved members will be able to post there. The purpose of that is not at all to keep anyone from posting in those threads, but rather because I'm going to put together some posting guidelines about referring to non-copyrighted footage that I want everyone to acknowledge and agree to before posting there. Again, it's a work in progress and something that will happen very slowly because of the upfront effort required to create all the threads. But keep your eyes peeled.

Here's an online tool that can assist with this until we do the upgrade: http://jhy.io/tools/convert-word-to-plain-text
  13. Loss replied to Loss's topic in Forums Feedback
Apostrophes. Hyphens. Accents. I see a lot of people struggling with this. It's as simple as that. Anything that isn't plain text will not be accepted. If you copy your post into Notepad then paste it here, it will work every time. The upgrade is still on for this weekend, so this won't be an issue for more than a few more days.

There is also the mindset that Punk should have at least given some notice instead of leaving 30 minutes before RAW started, and I can't say I don't understand that either.
  15. Loss replied to Strummer's topic in WWE
Yeah, I actually think his point of view in this case is pretty reasonable.

The HHH perspective on this is interesting. Dave said on the breaking audio last night that HHH does feel disrespected because Punk really didn't want the HHH build and match and that's part of the reason he walked out. His opinion is that he shouldn't come back, but he's letting Vince handle this entirely because he doesn't want to create a perception that he's making this a personal issue. So Dave said he's biting his tongue for the most part and not speaking up even though he has a major problem with how Punk left.

I will also add that the personal posts like yours Steven make it much harder to talk about and follow modern WWE even when they do something right. When I follow but don't watch closely and comment on something they are doing, the response is that if I don't watch, I have no right to comment on it. When I do watch closely and comment on something, the response is that if I don't like it, then I shouldn't watch. The end result is basically that if you don't like everything they do, you're not allowed to say anything unless you do. It's ridiculous. It would be nice to be able to post both positive and critical things about WWE -- when both are deserved -- and simply have the point engaged rather than being told that my viewing habits or lack thereof are somehow wrong, or to be personally attacked.

There is no precedent for WWE running a work that isn't initiated and played out on television. This is not a work.

By HHH and Steph. Who watched those and said " I can't get behind Bryan because the two people everyone hates are insulting him." They were doing "evil Internet perception of us " HHH does "evil Internet perception" even as a babyface. It's the only way he knows how to cut promos. It's Wrestling 101 that the heel is proven wrong. When the heel says something like this, then the babyface loses, the heel is proven right. And considering that they had no plans to redeem him until the fan backlash kicked in, yes, you could call that a burial in some ways, or at the very least, a demonstration that they were out of touch with what their fans wanted. By HHH and Steph. Who watched those and said " I can't get behind Bryan because the two people everyone hates are insulting him." They were doing "evil Internet perception of us " Remember, the audience in the crowd are drones who lack basic comprehension and take everything at face value. Only smart Internet fans like Loss know what's really up! Come on, Loss. You are exactly the kind of mark they hope for. The kind that jumps on the computer after the promo is done to express how bad a job they're doing and how bad they're burying him. Please don't personally attack me. We are having a conversation. But if the type of "mark" they are hoping for is one that hasn't attended a live event in five years or bought a pay-per-view in even longer than that, but would be excited to do so if this kind of crap didn't happen every time someone who doesn't fit their mold started getting over as a potential main eventer, then the joke is on them.

If they don't believe those things, then why did he lose at HIAC, and why was he not factored into plans for the top of the card at Mania from the beginning? Vince attacked Austin's character, not his worth as a performer and in the ring.
