I'm going to start going through archives soon to split off some threads in different ways, so we can fully reap the benefits of hashtagging. If you see things happening to some of the topics, it's me.

Right off the bat, I see quite a few AJPW TV matches missing.

No, it's a built-in feature. Also, only one person has said embedding makes for slow loading of pages, so I'd rather hear from more people before we say don't do it anyway.

But she wasn't always this way. She used to get humiliated all the time. Something changed.

Stephanie McMahon used to be sort of a punching bag for insults and helped guys like Chris Jericho get over. Now she dresses everyone down all the time. I realize that she has gained power since then, but she's been a McMahon the entire time, so I don't buy that it's all about her ego. It may partially be. I think part of it is misguided desire to draw female viewers by presenting her as a strong woman. What do you all think?

Arn vs Regal at Superbrawl IV.

No details posted that I can find, but Dave broke the news on WOR last night. He had a wrestling career, but his bigger influence was as a booker. Kris, Bix, Dylan ... anyone want to take a shot at a bio? He booked Mid Atlantic from 1973-1981 when the territory transitioned to singles matches, brought in Wahoo and Johnny Valentine and also got over Flair and Steamboat as stars. He was also a key player in the early days of the WWF expansion until he had a falling out with Hogan and had a brief stint early in '89 WCW that was pretty disappointing.

I am making this post mainly because Dave Meltzer recently raved about them after watching one of their matches and I suspect they'll start getting some buzz as a result. I don't know enough about them as workers to either praise them or write them off, but one thing that was getting a lot of positive play was Jeff Cobb's reverse powerslam, which can be seen in this short video: http://instagram.com/p/h-JvjRGZZC/ Is something wrong with me because I think this move looks awful? Anyway, Dylan told me a little about them, but has anyone else watched any of their stuff? What do you think?

Accents too. Believe me, I know this is annoying. The upgrade is in progress that will fix this.

I've been toying around with hashtagging and that is going to be the biggest benefit of upgrading. It will be so incredibly easy to find previous discussions of a topic on the board.

What is exceptional about the cage match? I wouldn't admit that, no.

I did. I watched that match thinking Steamboat didn't really care about the larynx injury angle all that much. That's my issue more than the lack of hate.

I think he means the criticism that the match doesn't fit the storyline and isn't "mean" enough. But there's not a missing piece to the Bret/Owen feud that would put that in proper perspective the way the Toronto match the month before Mania did for Savage and Steamboat.

We can't kill the feature. We can just ask people not to use it.

The WWE Universe hasn't been this clear on what they want to see in quite a long time.

So maybe we should set up some guidelines around when/when not to embed from YouTube. I will also see if the copy/paste functionality is something that can be changed in admin controls.

Here is a list of the additional features from what I'm able to tell so far. I'll edit this list as I discover more things: - Ability to follow threads and get notified of additional posts in the thread at a schedule of your choosing - Ability to get a Facebook-like notification at the top of the page at each log on of additional posts in the thread - Ability to use #hashtags on threads, which will be extremely useful in searching threads later (I want to make this a mod/admin thing instead of something everyone does for reasons I'm happy to explain if anyone doesn't understand why) - Ability to like posts, which we will turn off initially based on Matt D's valid points - Ability to embed videos from YouTube in posts - Ability to attach files under 100MB to posts - More sophisticated features and options related to the color, font and style of posts - Auto-save!

Any reason why? On a separate note, I've been thinking a lot about hashtags and I do think there are some very cool things we can do there. There's a juvenile subconscious thing where you might post differently in order to garner likes. I think it has led to some of the trolling over on DVDVR and less genuine posting. It's not a huge thing but I don't see that as necessary here. I'm not saying there's necessarily something more academic and adult and mature about this place, but the level of discourse is pretty high and I think inviting that level of sophomoric popularity pushes is necessarily a good thing. Thanks for the explanation. We'll start by disabling it and if there's a demand or people want to reconsider later, we can always turn it on.

Also, good news! I found a skin that resembles the one we currently have, so the board would mostly look the same, just with a few added features.

Also, I have a test site set up. I'm looking for as many volunteers as possible who are willing to *try* to break it before we switch over and do as many wonky things as possible and see what happens. Let's make sure it passes the stress test. PM me for the link if you are interested. Thanks.
