Because they would have been better as Chris Candido and Tammy Fytch (or Sunny, as long as she still acted like Tammy) ... this cocky blond duo with Tammy always dressed immaculately. That's not what the WWF was at this point in time, but they quickly learned that the best way to use Tammy was to make her a sexpot.

For some reason, the announcers kept hyping Bobby Duncum Jr. as an Internet darling when he debuted. I have no idea why.

Yes, and the camel clutch spot he made every babyface do where he'd eventually roll over and made them crotch themselves on his knees. I liked the spot. I just think he went to it too often.

Is an apology coming for the number of times through the years that Dave has criticized Hogan for the exact same thing? The Rock pandering is ridiculous these days.

The first time I realized Bret could be something more was during his interactions with Savage at Survivor Series '89. But looking back, that's because even though Savage pinned him, he treated him as an equal before doing so and sold quite a bit.

I'm a little concerned if people are sending PMs of solidarity to support people who they agree with in heated discussions, but they're afraid to get involved in threads because they are getting so heated. That's everyone's prerogative, and people can talk about anything they want in PMs. It's no one else's business. However, I don't want this to turn into a board where people who have something worthwhile to contribute don't, because they are afraid of getting in a big flame war over their chosen side of an issue. That's not at all what I want this board to be. Debates can be heated. I love that, and try not to discourage that. But debates can also be civil while heated. I hope we can all attack the message without attacking the messenger, and that we all understand the difference.

I feel like a big rookie here sometimes too. Everyone does. No one is above it. We have lots of people here who know their stuff, but no one here is an expert on everything.

I'll just say I'm surprised that she has the go-go-go rep, because the slower pace has been something that has stood out in what I have seen - the Hotta Queendom match and some of her matches with Bison Kimura in Jd'. I was thinking that maybe she was like a meaner Devil Masami, but Devil really is an example of a wrestler who stayed relevant so long because she was smart.

Lioness coming back in the 90s as this older, really pissed off bitch who would take everyone to the mat and make them suffer has become something I've really enjoyed. She really seemed to work a totally different style than everyone around her, and in some ways, came across as more credible than even Kong and Kansai. What post-Crush Girls Lioness do I need to see? I'm also not remembering much about her in the 80s. Was the 90s a drastic style change for her, or was she always sort of like this?

Sherri approaches Andre the Giant in a bar to tell him she wants to manage him, and that she'll give him anything he wants. He responds by spanking her. I guess he's into some weird stuff, but this is really funny, sexist connotations or not. Andre's facial expressions when Sherri is talking are hilarious.

This is not really a match that reflects well on DiBiase at all. The crowd was really hot to start, and the match started off really strong. There was an audible gasp when Piper injured his knee after crotching DiBiase on the ropes. But they lost the crowd because DiBiase was having an off night. All the tools were there to have a really good match. Piper is terrific, Sherri is working overtime to draw in the crowd, and 10 minutes is the perfect amount of time for the match they were trying to work. But DiBiase just doesn't rise to the occasion. Childs mentioned the weak chairshots, which were bad enough to actually detract from the match, and even at one point he posts the wrong knee on the post, which Heenan had to cover for on commentary. How does one make that mistake when Piper has his bad knee taped up? At first, I thought Sherri should shoulder part of the blame for doing too much, but I don't think that was the case. I think she was trying to save the match and get the crowd back. Too bad, as the first 1-2 minutes of this had me excited.

They mention the date and city again! Twice in a row. It seems a little dated to be using the "every promoter in the country wanted this match" line in 1991. They are hyping a Flair/Windham vs Sting/Gigante match in Chicago.

Did Virgil call her Sensexual Sherri? I think he did. This is again here because of Savage and Piper's reaction on commentary to the DiBiase/Sherri pairing. Piper refuses to do commentary, taking off his headset and opting to play Tic Tac Toe instead of calling the match. Sherri is such a skank here. She's awesome.

Just a remarkable match. I think everyone in this thread, especially Tim, has really summed up its greatness, so I don't have to say much else. What I will add is that it's probably a toss-up for me between this six-man and the 5/92 one which is the best. This one feels more definitive, but that's a pretty amazing match that deserves consideration too. This one stands out for furthering the Jumbo/Misawa and Kawada/Taue rivalries while Kobashi and Fuchi both step up and give great performances. Fuchi in particular was tremendous in this, as this was probably his finest (near) hour. This does feel like it encapsules everything to love about early 90s All Japan prior to Jumbo's retirement, and it's also my MOTY at this point.

This was just a fantastic match. I think all the elements were there for it to be really good, as everyone involved is game. But Hansen's performance singlehandedly moves this over top. He's had better matches, but he is as good as he has ever been in this match, working as an underdog and bleeding for the majority of the match, selling a big beating from Doc and Gordy and rallying a comeback that gets the crowd behind him. The finish is not an upset, but it feels like one because of what Hansen had to overcome. A great, great performance from an amazing wrestler.

I liked the pacing of this also. Matches built around selling and slow pacing, with bursts of offense thrown in then given time to settle, are matches I really enjoy. I don't think I loved this quite as much as the rest of you, as I thought it was a step above the June match, but not nearly as good as the September match. While we got four singles matches from them, I wish we could have had more, and that this feud could have played out over another two years or so.

Jerry, one other thing I'd like to clarify is that good is not universally good, and bad is not universally bad. "Product", as it's being described, is the composite of the entire presentation. Some factors will be stronger than others if they stand out in a particular way. But there is plenty of good stuff in bad periods, and plenty of bad stuff in good periods. We've seen wrestling promoters who don't understand their own audience blame the good for the bad periods, or credit bad for the good periods, plenty of times.
