What an incredible tag match! There are so many great things about this that it's hard to figure out exactly where to start. I think the biggest accomplishment is that they managed to get a Baltimore crowd into a match involving a pretty unknown team wearing Confederate flags on their trunks through some great work in the ring. This is a near flawless match. You'd think on the surface that a Smothers/Armstrong switcheroo would be stupid because they aren't exactly twins, but it completely worked here. I'm doing a lousy job of explaining why this is great, and I think Childs and Tim covered it well enough anyway, but needless to say, it's my US MOTY at this point.

"Get well fast, you stupid tramp." That made me laugh. Austin and Jeanne show no remorse for what happened to Toni on the fourth of July. Jeanne is tremendous here - such a total bitch! She points out that women pay $3000 for this sometimes (pointing to her breasts) but she has an all-natural body.

Jarrett and Travis are out for an interview. Iceman Parsons quickly interrupts and is held off by security guards, because he doesn't even work for this promotion. He's escorted out by security in a pretty wild scene. Later in the show, Jarrett wins a squash and Iceman immediately runs out and they have a pretty awesome fight on the floor. The guys are being separated, and Iceman is handcuffed. He seems to have a pretty vocal fan contingency, which just adds to the chaos of all of this. Total mayhem and swearing and yes, this was an attempt to copy the Lawler/Snowman angle in Memphis. It is great in its own way. Jarrett says if he can't get Iceman in the ring, he'll quit. Jarrett is phenomenal in this.

Flair and Sting are next to each other for this interview. Gordon Solie has been assured by attorneys from both sides there will be no confrontation, but I can't buy that, considering how personal this feud has gotten. Flair gets riled up quickly, and Ole is out to get in some words too. I wish he wasn't there. This feud already had too many distractions and was diluted enough. El Gigante shows up behind Flair and Ole and Ole does his surprised look again. How many times is he going to be surprised to see El Gigante behind him? I wasn't crazy about this segment, as it was about Flair/Sting, but not really about Flair/Sting, if that makes any sense.

Expiration of time match. We get a few minutes of decent action before Lawler and Dundee are out with baseball bats and trash cans to get even for earlier. After the commercial break, DWB is back out and is not happy. Gilbert joins their side. He still expects to get his money! He says he'll be at Mid South Coliseum Monday night and if he doesn't, there will be hell to pay. Downtown Bruno is out with the Wild Things. Jeff Gaylord is dancing to the "Get Bucked" chant now. I don't think he understands what's going on.

Just the finish. The Dirty White Boys run-in and attack Dundee. Tessa pleads with Gilbert to help and he ends up grabbing her by the hair and throwing her on the floor. Lawler has seen enough and decks Gilbert and makes the save. Lawler agrees to team with Gilbert for a lot less than the $5,000 Gilbert was going to get paid. Great segment that cemented Lawler's babyface turn, introduced Gilbert and mixed some people together in interesting ways. I approve.

We get a quick clip from Mid South Coliseum of Dundee pinning Dirty White Boy, then getting attacked after the match by DWB and Kimberly. Tessa finally comes to the rescue and we have a catfight. Jerry Jarrett loved catfights in 1990, but these two are just not coordinated at all. A barefoot John Tatum gets involved and hits Dundee with his shoe and a superkick. Prelim guys try to make the save to no avail. Good beatdown that went a little too long. Dundee then enters the studio for a promo. He has found a partner and wants him to come out. Instead, he gets Guy Coffey, which makes Lawler and Dundee crack jokes. Dundee's partner won't come out as long as Lawler is out there, so Lawler agrees to leave the area. And here we go - it's HOT STUFF EDDIE GILBERT! The story is that Dundee has offered him a ton of money to get in the ring, and Gilbert makes his heel turn pretty obvious, as he's completely money-motivated. He touches on the history with Tatum, and the heels run out to attack Dundee, while Gilbert stands by and does nothing. Gilbert isn't planning on helping him until Monday night because that wasn't part of what he was being paid for. Great segment! (Funny story: Eddie Gilbert got out of his WCW contract by telling Jim Herd he was injured, and that he would feel they would be well within their rights to release him, because he felt bad collecting a paycheck without being able to perform. Herd released him, and that's how he ended up here.)

*bump* I never even posted in this thread before, but Matt accused me of being extreme last time this topic came up. The thread somehow slipped past me to be honest. I had to go look for it.

So should I respond to the Kane question or should I not? I'm hearing mixed messages (and a hostility I don't understand too).

If you're an upper midcarder/headliner for 15 years, you should have at least one classic match on your resume. You should have quite a few great matches too. Does he even have one? I have never seen all of these good Kane matches. Has he ever done 25 things worth watching?

Lawler is the master. Watch how he deals with hecklers and interacts with the fans. It's pretty awesome. We find out that the audience has been saying "Get bucked" when I thought they were saying "Kick butt". Lawler recaps the events of Monday night at Mid South Coliseum for another Lawler vs Snowman match and we cut to a clip. Not at the level of their previous stuff, as they've abandoned the shooty part of this feud. Downtown Bruno pushed Lawler's foot off the bottom rope when he was being pinned, which cost Lawler the match. This week, there will be TWO referees. They really milked rematches for everything they were worth, but I believe we are nearing the end. Bruno and his charges interrupt Lawler, with Jeff Gaylord doing the talking. They ask Lawler to leave and he walks off very calmly. They start cutting a promo and Lawler returns with a baseball bat and they head for the hills.

Yes, but Cena has other positives Kane doesn't have. And that's always been the single most annoying thing about Kane to me, so I felt the need to point it out.
