  1. I've been calling this exact thing happening since the giant pop Ambrose got clear back at Money in the Bank, and part of me wonders if maybe WWE came to the same realization that it could happen, and that is why they have been booking Ambrose to do stupid comedy shit and look like a jack ass losing to holograms and exploding tv's.
  2. I'm not from Portland, but I can tell you from watching the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood show, that Ethan HD is terrible. I've not heard of anyone else.
  3. I ring announced some indy shows that Moose worked on, and I have absolutely no idea how or why he got signed by Ring of Honor. The guy is fucking terrible in the ring, he thinks he is hot shit because he used to play football, and he barely spoke to anyone in the locker room. I will reluctantly admit he has slightly improved since I worked with him, but he still has no business being on pay per view.
  4. Sure seems like Austin just tried to go to bat for Cesaro and Vince shot it down in the nicest way he possibly could.

Man, like him or hate him, Bray Wyatt has gone from one of the hottest acts in the company to being a fucking after thought due to some absolute shit booking.

  7. Appreciate the response! The guy cutting the promo during the first match was Chance Prophet. He's been around for several years and has been the NWA National Champion and also competed for the NWA Heavyweight Championship on a few occasions.
  8. I promise this will be the only time I "bump" this thread. If I don't get any response this time, I will let it go. However, if anyone has the time to watch this and give me some feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, Sabu is in the main event, so you can see how he is looking these days. Thanks.

  10. I've met Foley twice and both times he was nothing but friendly, even sharing a story about running into "Gorgeous" Gary Young for the first time in like 15 years when I talked to him recently after his comedy show. Put me in the "Had a bad experience with Kevin Nash" category
  11. I would LOVE to hear about this......
  12. One more I would like to add. I know he is a guy who a lot of people feel one way or another about, and I know some people have had bad experiences with him. But I met him a few times before I got into the business, and I have worked a ton of shows with him since I started, and Shane Douglas has always been super fucking cool to me. From taking time to answer my questions about the business, to meeting my buddy who was in from overseas and being genuinely interested in talking to him and learning about politics in his country, to sitting with me and laughing hysterically as Ricky Morton proceeded to tell us rat stories for 45 minutes as we waited for a postponed show to start. Hell, I made him a copy of GBBrutal's comp so he could show his sons his pre-ECW work and he was so appreciative he gave me his phone number and told me if I ever had questions or needed his opinions on something to give him a call. Great guy
  13. So apparently New Japan is getting a TV deal in the states with the former HDNet, now AXS TV starting January 16th.
  14. I will second Barbarian. A league I used to ring announce for always brought him in and he never failed to come up and shake my hand and ask me how I was, and then ask me how my family (who he has never met) were doing. Just a super nice man all around. I've never met him personally, but all of the guys I talk too at the shows say that Bobby Eaton may be the single nicest human being on the planet. While he is a bit scatter brained at times, The Maestro is a super cool dude. Always asks how your doing and goes out of his way to make you laugh. Jim Duggan was a very nice man when I met him, had a smile for everyone in the huge line of people that were there to meet him, especially the children. Constantly letting out a HOOOOOOOO much to the delight of everyone in attendance. Other guys who I've had experiences with that I would say rank them above the others guy's I've met: Tommy Dreamer, Brian Lee, Johnny Gargano, and Nikita Koloff Also a special shout out to Chance Prophet. While he is not a huge name, and I actually knew him before he got in the business, he is legit one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life, in or out of the wrestling business.

So, it seems the stip is actually that if Team Cena loses all of the members EXCEPT John Cena will get fired.....so I am now 100% behind this being exactly what is going to happen.
  16. Blehschmidt replied to Smack2k's topic in WWE
Channeling my inner creative team, my prediction is that team Cena will lose, then John will have to fight all 5 members of the Authority in a Handicap match on Raw in order to win back their jobs.
  17. I know it was said previously that if someone died it deserved it's own thread, but in this case I think this is the right place. Brad Batten of The Batten Twins has passed away.
  18. That is a super awesome gift! Be sure to share a picture of it once you have it.
  19. I honestly expected huge things from Paul Burchill. I remember hearing the hype about him when he was in England. I remember people being amazed at a guy his size pulling off the C4. Then the fed signed him, and the reviews in OVW were all positive. Then he came to TV and despite all odds the pirate gimmick got over....and then.......nothing.
  20. So, I've been doing ring announcing here and there for local shows in my area for a couple years now, and recently got asked to do Play by Play commentary for a fed in the Pittsburgh area that is starting to gain a little bit of steam. My only previous commentary experience was for another local fed that never saw the light of day, and I worked heel color, so PBP was something totally new to me. I am going to post a link to one of our YouTube shows in hopes of getting some feedback from you guys, because in my time here I have learned tons from this board and really grown to respect the opinions of a lot of the people who post here. I know I have plenty of room for improvement, and I know the only way I will get better is by getting suggestions and constructive criticism from people who know what they are talking about. I figure with all of the years of wrestling watching and all of the different kinds of wrestling watched, what better place than here. So that you know which of the commentators is me, mine will be the first voice you hear after the intro to the show finishes. I go by Bob Anderson. This was only the second show I had done commentary on, so please don't savage me!! Also, I have no control over the booking or anything else involving the product, so while I am definitely also interested in hearing your thoughts on it as well, please know there is nothing I can do to change it! http://youtu.be/u6Nip7-Ez5Y Thanks! Edit: If someone could tell me the code for embedding the video, I will just stick it in this post. Thanks again.
  21. A few funny ones I enjoy... Also.....Holy Shit Beverly Brothers.....
  22. Current Favorite Wrestler to Watch: It's a tie..... either RD Evans. Whether he is RD Evans in ROH, Robert Evans in Olde Wrestling, or Archibald Peck in Chikara, he never fails to entertain me...... or Rusev. Hands down the most entertaining act in WWE right now. The highlight of every show he is on. Last Fun Match You Saw: The 10 man tag on Night 3 of this years Battle of Los Angeles. It won't be for everyone, but man I had a smile on my face the whole match. Wrestler You Want to See More of: Biff Busick. I had never seen him prior to watching BOLA, and his mixture of intensity with old style grappling was very interesting. Will definitely be seeking more of him out. Last Live Show Attended: I did live to DVD/MP4 commentary for VOW wrestling in the Pittsburgh area last weekend, I ring announce for a league here in West Virginia tomorrow (with Bobby Fulton and The Maestro on the show) and the last show I attended as a fan was an ROH TV taping at the end of September. Match You Are Looking Forward to Watching Soon the Most: Chikara just announced they are doing a Cibernetico at their season finale, those are always fun. Last Fun Interview/Promo You Saw: Been watching Will's Horseman comp, so too many Flair and Arn promo's to count that have had me entertained. Last Interesting Thing You Read about Wrestling: I dunno, probably something on this board! Last Worthwhile Wrestling Podcast You Heard: The last podcast I listened too was Johnny Saint on Cabana's podcast, so that has been a while. Most Fun You've Had Watching Wrestling Lately: A buddy of mine who hadn't watched wrestling since the Attitude era came around and I showed him some PWG, he was in awe of the Young Bucks superkicks, and the Chris Hero elbow strikes. Watching his reactions was awesome.
  23. That really sucks. Sami is a tremendously nice guy, a hard worker, and I was really hoping he would get a good run.
