  1. J.R. Foley's duo of cruiserweights both have nice showings and will certainly be top contenders for the Junior Title. Flair has something to say and it's a good one! Great promo! Interested to see why the presence of Doc and Dibiase seemingly caused him to cut things short. Love the cowboys sitting around the fire talking about fights and dishing out justice. Great VTR. Harley promo was spot on Harley, and a nice win against Kabuki gets him rolling in Mid-Atlantic Norvell and Savannah Jack show up to join Shaska, and the Brutha's just got a whole lot more dangerous. Harts pick up a huge win over the Russians, and that has to rocket them up the rankings. Spivey makes one hell of a partner for Luger and Wahoo against Sullivan and his group! These Horseman vs Race, Savage, Rockers matches would be something to see. That's a whole lot of talent in the ring! Really like what you have going on here. Everything is lining up nicely.
  2. Bockwinkel knows when he has met a worthy adversary, so it's back to the drawing board. If he gets another shot with a game plan he can put together from what he learned, Mr. Steamboat may be in a lot of trouble. I hope the Iceman has a good run here! It's interesting to see where all the members of The Movement have ended up. Oh No..... Karachi Vice is back. Boooo!!! Ox Baker with a bottle of champagne? Hmmm.... that sounds like a payment. Well, at least he put it to good use! Jerry Blackwell could be a ton of fun here! (Pun only slightly intended!) Great Beauty Shop, Hennig realizing he had no one to blame but Adias himself is good stuff. This should be a fun little feud. Looking forward to seeing who Idol puts in front of Lawler Fabs go up 2-0, and Ricky and Robert better get their shit together. The Fabs are too good of a team to let them take that kind of advantage on you. Good Stuff!
  3. Something tells me that Adnan and his 50k won't be together a whole lot longer, and that will make the Sheik a very unhappy man! Koko is going to be a nice fit here in Mid-South. Sunshine on the warpath is going to be very bad for Jimmy. She isn't the kind to sit back and wait..... and as I thought, her distraction allows Gordy to begin getting his revenge on the Birds. and Yes, I said beginning! Gordy is going to beat those boys from pillar to post and I am looking forward to it! Good stuff dude!
  4. (Taped on Wednesday September 29th, 1986 and airing Saturday October 2nd) Airing on.... and other great stations across the Southeastern United States.... From the Tampa Sportatorium, this is.... Let's head down to ringside, with the voice of Professional Wrestling... Mr. Gordon Solie Gordon Solie: Hello and welcome to the new Championship Wrestling from Florida! It's been nearly three years since the last time we came to you from here at the Sportatorium in Tampa, but thanks to the efforts of several generous investors and Jack and Gerry, the Brisco Brothers, we are back and ready to bring you the best professional wrestling action in the state of Florida. Tonight we will introduce you to several of the teams who are going to compete in the tournament to crown the new Florida Tag Team Champions. We will also see "Chief" Joe Lightfoot in action, and much more. A personal aside before we begin if I may, I am very excited to be back here in the CWF, and even more excited to once again bring the action into your homes every week. I hope you'll join us here each and every weekend and enjoy the show as well. We'll be right back with tag team action. -Commercial Break- Steve Doll and Steve Simpson, The Glamour Boys head to the ring as the young ladies in the audience go wild. They are dressed in matching white boots, blue kneepads, and blue trunks with a Glamour Boys logo on the back in white. Both men have bandanas holding back there long blonde hair, which they toss out to the crowd before the match begins. =========================================================================================================== Match #1 -The Glamour Boys (Steve Simpson/Steve Doll) defeated The Bounty Hunters (Hunter 1/Hunter 2) when Simpson pinned #2 after the "Glam, Slam, Thank You Ma'am"- =========================================================================================================== Gordon Solie: Doll comes off the top rope with a dropkick that puts the masked Bounty Hunter down, then Simpson follows with a flying splash that seals the deal. A dazzling tag team maneuver from The Glamour Boys. They will be one of the eight teams that will be competing to become the new Florida Tag Team Champions. Right now, I can officially announce that the first round of the tournament for those titles will take place right here in Tampa, just down the road at the Spartan Sports Center on Sunday October the Seventeenth at Four in the afternoon. Tickets will go on sale at the box office for that event this Monday at Noon. Make sure to get them early, as we expect the event to sell out quickly. We'll be right back. -Commercial Break- As the show returns from break, Gordon Solie is joined by a man dressed in Arabic robes, and sunglasses, with a Keffiyah covering his head. Gordon Solie: We are back here on Championship Wrestling from Florida, and I am joined now by Mr. Skandor Akbar. Skandor Akbar: Gordon Solie! When you refer to me, you will do so as "General" Skandor Akbar! Because now that I have conquered wrestling in the state of Texas, I have broadened my horizons and set my sights on the state of Florida. Very soon my Devastation Incorporated will rule over this company as we have done everywhere else, and it begins tonight. Because right now, I am about to present to you my warrior from the land of the rising sun, Kazaharu! A haunting, instrumental, Oriental sounding music fills the Tampa Sportatorium. From the back comes a man wearing black karate style pants with white kanji markings down both legs, a traditional black gi with a red circle on the back and the name Kazaharu printed across the middle in white, and black tabi boots. Long black hair is tied nearly into a top knot on his head and his face is covered with the traditional red, white, and black kabuki style face paint. Akbar helps him remove the gi as he steps into the ring. Gordon Solie: Well General Akbar has certainly produced a very impressive looking competitor. Let's see what he can do inside the squared circle. =========================================================================================================== Match #2 -Kazaharu w/Skandor Akbar defeated Shane Tylor by submission with the Rolling Japanese Sleeper- =========================================================================================================== Gordon Solie: It certainly didn't take long for this Kazaharu to dispatch young Mr. Tylor here today. After brutalizing him with martial arts chops and kicks, he locked his legs around the young mans head and rolled with him until he was unconscious. A very dangerous move to be sure. Quite the impressive debut for Kazaharu, and a very dangerous weapon for this General Akbar and his Devastation group. Don't go anywhere folks, we'll be right back with more action. -Commercial Break- As the show returns from commercial a video is played set to the tune of "Sharp Dressed Man" that shows Rip Rogers and Chick Donovan riding around in a convertible, then cuts to them walking on a beach with lots of girls in bikinis stopping to look at them. It then switches to the two of them dressed in suits walking into a steakhouse, then to them getting out of a limo and heading into a nightclub. Finally the pictures fade to black and the words "The Fabulous Blondes, Coming Soon" appear on the screen. Gordon Solie: Ladies and Gentleman, up next we have two large powerful bruisers who call themselves The Highwaymen. Let's head to the ring and see them in action. Phil Hickerson and Bobby Duncum, The Highwaymen come walking out and immediately draw the ire of the crowd. They are both wearing black cowboy hats, and floor length duster coats that are white with black trim. Duncum has on black trunks with black kneepads and cowboy boots, while Hickerson has on long black tights and a pair of standard black boots. =========================================================================================================== Match #3 -The Highwaymen (Bobby Duncum/Phil Hickerson) beat Jeff Howard/Marcus Chase when Hickerson pinned Chase after a Spike Piledriver- =========================================================================================================== Gordon Solie: I am joined now by the winners of the match, Phil Hickerson and Bobby Duncum, The Highwaymen! Phil Hickerson: Let me tell you and all of these idiots something right now Gordon Solie! The Highwaymen have held tag team championships all across the United States, and we've come to Florida to add some more gold to our collection. It doesn't matter how many other teams there are, or who's in them. If they stand across from us, we are going to give them the piledriver and we are going to take them out. Just ask them Glamour Boys that were out here a little earlier. We've beaten their brains out from coast to coast, and if they get between us and those tag team titles, we'll be happy to do it again. Bobby Duncum: The Highwaymen do what we do, for two reasons see. To bring home tha' gold, and to bring home tha' money. Glamour Boys or anybody else, you get between us and what we want, we gonna hurt'cha. Ya unna'stan? Hickerson and Duncum walk away as Gordon Solie gives a look that says he certainly understands as the show heads to break. -Commercial Break- =========================================================================================================== Match #4 -"Chief" Joe Lightfoot defeated Rick Cohen by submission with the Indian Death Lock- =========================================================================================================== Gordon Solie: An impressive win for "Chief" Joe Lightfoot there, but I'd like to take a moment and go back to something that The Highwaymen said just before the break. They said they do what they do for two reasons, money and gold, by which of course they mean championship titles. They also mentioned a previous rivalry with Steve Doll and Steve Simpson, The Glamour Boys who we saw earlier in our program. It occurs to me that we haven't even been back for a complete episode yet, and already the rivalry and hostility is beginning. The upcoming tournament for the Florida Tag Team Championship should indeed be a hotly contested affair as I can only assume that all of the teams set to compete will share that same desire for the money and the gold. As we head to the ring for our final match of this hour, we have yet another team who will be competing in that tournament. They call themselves the South Pacific Islanders. First is the Samoan born, New Zealander known as Sivi Afi and his partner is the man from Pago Pago, Cocoa Samoa! Let's head down to ringside and take a look at these two superb athletes! Both men come out with a traditional colorful Polynesian lavalava wrapped around their waists, and a kukui nut necklace around their necks. They head around the ring slapping hands with the fans in attendance, and then when they enter they remove the entrance gear to reveal matching tropical themed trunks. A quick tribal chant of some kind before the bell rings has them fired up, and then they are on the attack! =========================================================================================================== Match #5 -The South Pacific Islanders (Cocoa Samoa/Sivi Afi) beat Snake Brown/JT Hart when Afi pinned Hart after a Flying Crossbody- =========================================================================================================== Gordon Solie: A dominant performance from the South Pacific duo as they pick up momentum heading into the tournament for the Florida Tag Team Championship. Again, that will take place at the Spartan Sports Center on Sunday October the Seventeenth at Four P.M. Tickets on sale at the box office this Monday at Noon. Then please join us right back here next week as we will have Mark and Chris Youngblood joining us in tag team action. General Akbar has apparently promised another member of his Devastation Corporation, and we will see the world renowned "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in action! Until then, I'm Gordon Solie saying So Long from the Sunshine State!
  5. Enh. Maybe the Lilly doll was like the urn, and it was the source of her powers. Now with it gone, she will revert to normal.
  6. If Windham Rotunda shows up to pay respect to his friends.... Awesome If The Fiend shows up to do anything.... Terrible
  7. I don't know any self respecting nerds, dorks, dweebs, or geeks that actually like the Big Bang Theory. That show is the epitome of what Hollywood thinks nerds, dorks, dweebs, and geeks with a sense of humor act like. My dipshit ex-marine cousin watches that show, not my buddy who still runs Dungeons and Dragons games at age 45. I'll also point out that until just a few years ago, I totally agreed with you that "Cool Sells." Guys like Ric Flair and "The Heartbreak Kid" were always going to be the most over, because those characters encapsulated everything the watcher wished they could be. But there has definitely been a cultural shift in the last several years, and those kind of characters are at the least being pushed to the back burner, if not totally frowned upon. While things like The Elite's meta-nerdiness (or however you want to phrase it) and stuff like the Orange Cassidy character are able to thrive in the environment that has emerged.
  8. If anyone has another manager they might be interested in trading for Slick, hit me up!
  9. In an effort to be a further pain in the ass... Florida returns Ken Patera to the WWF, and takes Bob Backlund instead. Same deal with the timeline stuff, but the trade is official as of now. Also, Koko needs removed from my roster
  10. While I am not a member of the NWA, I would like to throw my backing behind the Rich's getting a shot at the NWA World Tag Team Titles!! Good to see the Nightmares back home where they belong. Interested to see where you are going with Stubbs. The lost confidence angle could be a nice way to transition him back to being Olympia, or this could all just be a Gossett swerve.... When I said before that this Poffo/Street feud had so much potential, I didn't see the Mongolian Stomper showing up to counteract MAN's presence! WOW. That's a game changer! The introduction of Adrian Adonis's Cuckold gimmick, followed by the debut of The Junkyard Dog is certainly two segments I never thought I would see back to back!! Dusty ain't fucking around when it comes to back up!! Downtown Bruno shows back up and pairs Killer Brooks with Ron Bass, and the Desperado's are born! This is a great team! Great segment between Buddy and Fuller. I have a feeling this is going to lead some very interesting things in the future! Looking forward to watching it play out! Fantastic Fiesta Garden! "now that I see this get up you have on, I get it." popped me huge. Classic 80's ending as Cooley sexually assaults Sherri to the cheers of the audience! Huge main event see's Dusty and his boys pick up the win over Sherri's dysfunctional gang. God Damn, this show was STACKED!!! Looking forward to seeing if the Expo Hall can top the TV!!
  11. Well, this will be the third thread I've posted in asking for a copy of the tape, but Holy Shit....I need a copy of Steamboat/Bockwinkel!! Those two for 58 minutes, shoot that shit directly into my veins!! Match sounds amazing and really cements Steamboats title reign as an all time great! Hooray for Priceless!! The war coming between the Beasts and Cabin Fever is going to be brutal, but at least there will be some class and dignity holding the tag titles now!! Fabs take the lead in the Best of 7, but it's just one match, and you know the R'n'R ain't done. Blackjack Mulligan will make a nice fit here. Looking forward to the Hennig/Adias confrontation on the Beauty Shop next week as well. You always keep it exciting my man. AWA is full of action from top to bottom! Looking forward to more.
  12. Had a feeling that Lucifer was going to be Kevin Sullivan! He should cause quite a bit of trouble around here!! Ustinov makes a nice addition for the Koloff's My boy Black Bart arrives in Mid-Atlantic!! He gets roughed up by Whatley and Jones, but a new alliance forms! Interested to see where this Cowboy group goes! Embry has a posse! Somers and Royal with Embry should be fun. MWC and the Rockers sounds like it would be a hell of a match. Gotta love a good double cheat for the win! Savage takes down Blanchard in one hell of a fight, that see's Liz jump on Baby Doll!! I tend to think Doll would use Liz like a tooth pick, but it caused enough distraction to give the Macho Man a win! and finally things are in balance as Ric Flair brings home the Heavyweight Title and sends Hawk back to the tag team division!! Great Show! Looking forward to seeing who steps up to challenge Naitch!!
  13. Nice to see "Captain Redneck" back in the Mid-South area. He'll be a lot of fun brawling with all the guys here! Leroy Brown is another huge get for Ladd, literally and figuratively!! Man, that Gordy return would have blown the roof off the place for sure. The matches that are coming up are going to be huge and ole PS Hayes better be ready for the fight of his life!! Hell of a main event! Seems like 45 minute classics are all the rage this week! Send me a tape of this one too!!
  14. September Supercard delivers from start to finish! A hotly contested match for the tag titles opens the show, and some good old fashioned heeling brings it home for the champs. You love to see it! Debbie Combs pulls off a huge win in the Lottery Battle Royal. Very well done on this one. and I was pulling for Winona Little Heart in the ME, but Moretti is on a roll and proves to be too much. Great show! It'll be interesting to see if Combs can ride the momentum from her win and derail the Moretti train!
  15. If I could go ahead and get a taped copy of Rose and St. Clair going 45, that'd be great! Liking the build for One Man Gang being an absolute monster here. You have some big boys on this roster, but the Gang has the potential to be on another level. Speaking of big boys, the brewing war between Bigelow and the Avenger is about to get ugly, and when those two start throwing punches, everyone else had better get the hell out of the way. That's gonna be an awesome feud.
  16. Well, here we go! Normally my shows will go up on Saturday, with the house shows being on Sunday. Although this week my first show will go up on Thursday, because I am out of town for the weekend. I am trying a different writing style this time around in hopes of not burning myself out, and I am also trying to not do a disservice to Gordon Solie, so his verbiage may not be as prevalent at the beginning. I guess what I am trying to say is, these shows may be a bit shorter than what I normally turned out, and at the beginning, they may be a little rough as I try to get everyone debuted. So, I hope you enjoy them, but please bare with me as I get back in the groove! So, uh, Yeah... Let's do this!
  17. https://twitter.com/WrestlingNewsCo/status/1441590069601570816?s=20 Apparently Shane Thorne is now doing an "Australian" gimmick.... If they don't call him Outback Slapjack, they are wasting a golden opportunity.
  18. Her name is Rebel, but Britt calls her Reba because she treats her like a sidekick.
  19. That's about as good as your takes on Pac
  20. You may have just cured windmill cancer
  21. Dory for Patera is occurring now. I will begin using Patera when I start. Just wanted it to be known that as part of the agreement, he will keep using Patera as well, since he is technically in a different time frame at the moment.
  22. Last night Gene cut The Spoiler, he is now listed in Free Agency, but is also on Spaldoni's roster. Not sure which is correct, but if he is available, CWF would like to pick him up. CWF also releases Spike and Basher
  23. I mean, they aren't wrong. Do you really think Ta-Gar: Lord of the Volcano would get over with a manager named Paul E. Dangerously?
  24. CWF trades Dory Funk Jr to the WWF for Ken Patera. (FYI, although this trade is official, as WWF continues to catch up, they will continue to use Patera until they finish him up in storylines, or until they reach today's date)
  25. If Vince and Dunn came up with it, Lee will be wearing leopard print tights and a bear head to the ring like he was Mantaur with in a month. Keith is far and away my favorite guy on the WWE roster, and I don't ever wish for anyone to lose their job, but man I picture the run he could be having in AEW, and it makes me sad.
