I'm glad someone else sees Hurt Syndicate as a detriment to AEW. Lashley being twice the size of 90% of the roster and being marketed as this unstoppable monster gives you the problem that he has to destroy everyone he gets in the ring with, so you can't afford to put half your roster in the ring with him. Thus he is stuck in some awkward tag team feud, that no one cares about, and I can't imagine that this is what they saw themselves doing when they signed on.

Booker T is atrocious. He is constantly yelling, every 3rd sentence is "Awwwww Yeah Man", and a good part of the rest is nonsense. I respect the guy and his career, but he is a fucking terrible commentator.
  3. Ahhh damn it. Bart has become one of my guilty pleasure wrestlers over the years. His fired up, ranting promo style never ceases to amuse me, and that legdrop from the ropes always looked awesome for a guy his size. I never got to meet him in person, but a couple years ago he was doing a virtual autograph signing and I purchased one and asked for it to be signed "To Dadgum Bob" and he got a grin on his face and slipped into his promo voice and said "Well Dadgum It Bob, why don't you buy another one!" and it just made me love the guy more. We'll Miss You Mr. Harris
  4. Finally able to watch this as I've gotten Netflix back and now that I've finished, I'm hoping someone can help me with some "What Really Happened." Obviously I realize that all of the matches devolving into shoots, and bloodbaths, and the girls really attacking each other with weapons while the seconds scream in horror is all made for TV horse shit. Mostly hoping someone can point me to some reading or give me a brief history of: what really happened with Beauty Pair, Jackie leaving, whether the Chigusa sleeping in the dojo story is true, the Devil's Army split, and Jaguar Yokota being done wrong by the show (got that from reading this thread, but even to me who knows none of the story, they did seem to be trying to make her a shit stirrer.) I was trying to watch the stuff Kadaveri was putting on YouTube that had a lot of these matches, but unfortunately it seems to be gone.

Between Rampage and Collision, it would seem we are in for some more of the never ending Kris Statlander push, because apparently there is absolutely no one else in the womens division....

The throwbacks were nice, but of course they couldn't get out of their own way and do it 100% correctly, because WWE must WWE at all times. The opening of the show should have been simple. Hyped Up promos, Obsession, crowd shot and announcers.... Easy and Simple. But instead we of course had to have the self fellating video package about how WWE invented everything in wrestling. Because if we don't hit people over the head with that at every opportunity they might forget. At least they didn't say smoke filled arenas and bingo halls I guess.

When is AEW going.to realize that they have a huge babyface just waiting to be unleashed in Harley Cameron. She's attractive, she's charismatic, she's hilarious. She sells really well, and her offense is getting better. I truly think there is major potential there for her to get over really well as a babyface, and they certainly need it, cause right now they have two heel champions and almost no contenders.

Totally agree. Henley was there as Tesha Price and it's the same deal. If you are going to check out the Iron Survivor, you should go back a couple weeks and check out the qualifying matches for it as well. Give you a bit more insight into what the ladies can do in a non-gimmick match environment.

I also think Kelani Jordan, Wren Sinclair, and Fallon Henley have pretty good potential from the current crop of NXT girls. Jordan has especially been impressing me as she seems to improve with every match, and she is one of the girls that had no previous wrestling experience, instead coming from a gymnastics background. Sinclair and Henley have previous wrestling experience, having both appeared in AEW and the indies.
  10. I feel like they need to have Leila Grey turn on the lot of them and put her with a strong heel, like when Francine turned on The Pitbulls and went to Shane Douglas. She looks great, she can bump, and she can talk a little.

NXT Deadline so far.... A guy who wasn't even supposed to be in the opening iron survivor thing won it.... typical WWE nonsense. Why is Booker T still on commentary? Literally half of what comes out of his mouth is "Aww" "Yeah" "Man" or "Baby." He is fucking terrible. This NXT Underground thing is really dumb. A bunch of dipshits banging on the ring while we take down the ropes so this looks like what? Bloodsport? I actually like this Jaida Parker girl, but this is fucking stupid. I'll be back later for Giulia and Vaquer, but that's enough of that for now.
  12. They should just go ahead and call that show "Show Some Respect You Pussies" I have a bad feeling that I'm not going to feel the same about Mickie James after that thing airs.
  13. You mean the truth that L.A. Knight sucks. Why would we stop that?
  14. That was one of the worst battle royals I have ever seen, and I am a sucker for a battle royal. Other than the Top Flight elimination, that whole thing was just lifeless. Adam Cole is terrible. Seriously, can we trade Cole, O'Reilly, Strong, Bennett, Taven, and MJF to WWE for I dunno..... Pete Dunne, they aren't doing shit with him.
  15. Because much like people stopping to get a weapon on their way into the cage and wasting 90 seconds of the time period, the dive off the cage is an intricate part of the WWE War Games match and must be repeated every year. Hell, it's the whole reason they took the roof off the cage.
  16. Jeebus. If Fatu's leg is actually messed up, he is one tough son of a bitch.
  17. Oh good, we are bringing more crap into the ring.
  18. That football style, bad comedy, Key and Peele reminiscent introduction of the people in the main event sure made this seem like a blood feud that called for a stipulation like War Games. They just can't not get in their own way.
  19. They did, and I know fans of the modern style will absolutely be into what that match had to offer. Folks like Coffey, Thread Killer, and myself probably need to realize that the modern product has passed us by and we'd be better off watching either Bash '87 or Survivor Series '87 tonight. But... and I'll speak just for myself when I say.. that part of being an old guy is watching what you've loved all of you life and pissing and moaning about how it's not as good as it used to be!
  20. It is my greatest wish to never hear a "We Want Tables" chant ever again. Especially not when they are already setting them up. Fucking idiots.
  21. I'm really hoping they are getting that shit out of the way in this match and just have the men beat the fuck out of each other like the old days. But I'm not holding out hope, cause they do this shit every year. I feel bad for these girls. The crowd is fucking dead for all but the high spots, the pacing on this sucks, and whoever thought having Nia Jax go a half hour and lead the match was a good idea should probably be fired.
  22. Yikes. The ducking and waiting so as to not give/take chair shots to the head was really bad.
  23. I can see almost all of this working out. I'm sure they would just fill the syndicated time slots with WorldWide or Power Hour or whatever other B show they had running in their own syndication at the time that wasn't already airing in the market. That's easy enough. The ESPN slot is interesting, because they probably would have had to come up with a new show for that slot, but I can't remember how many days a week AWA was airing on the channel at that point. Whichever way it goes, I don't think they would have had trouble filling it, and it probably would have been helpful for the promotion. Knowing WCW, they wouldn't have done jack shit with the library, and it would have just ended up on the WWE Network anyway. The influx of talent would have been fine, because they would have just been additions to an already bloated undercard, and a lot of them ultimately ended up there anyway. Tully might be interesting if he ended up back in the Horseman, Slaughter could change history if he stayed with the company and we never got the Iraq bullshit and thus Mania 7 gets a different main event, and Del Wilkes signing this early completely changes the trajectory of the GWF. Greg Gagne is whatever, he's a fine stooge. Where this all falls apart if Verne Gagne as the on-air commissioner and the AWA World Title situation..... Verne is about as exciting as watching paint dry, and with all of the backstage turmoil in WCW during this time period, his role wouldn't have lasted long. But the AWA Title Situation is really where the whole thing explodes. Even if they had agreed to recognize the AWA Title, we all know that would have only lasted for a while, and eventually they would have had a unification match, and then Verne being the hard headed old prick he was would have probably tried to sue them or something. So Yeah.... the only real changes I see in the world of wrestling if this happens, other than the obvious AWA dying a year early and being bought by WCW.... The Main Event of Wrestlemania 7 changes, the GWF has to find a new top babyface (or someone different to play The Patriot), and potentially Tully Blanchard rejoins the Horseman.
