  1. Just giving him more incentive for retiring at the end of the year!
  2. Change of plans, I don't need Duncum back after all... Sorry Kevin. So if you would.... WWF releases: Bobby Duncum and Joe Savoldi
  3. Oh Man, Rage in the Cage is gonna be a good one. I expect lots of blood, lots of cheating, and a whole lot of hurt feelings....and that's just during Flair/Landel!! Speaking of which, your fucking Landel is spot on as always. Week in and week out, you never fail to make me laugh with Buddy. I like this combination of the Bee's. Hope they get a bigger run sometime. That Stanley Blackburn might be a Russian Sympathizer!! or maybe it's Gagne!! They both seem shady. Whatever happened to real Americans like Farmer Burns! Digging the concept for the TV Title. Should make for some interesting match ups and keep the belt fresh. Good to see the Honky Tonk Man pick up a win. He needs it after getting cheated by Chump Hogan. Paul Jones had better watch his mouth or he might find himself developing a dislike for Chicken Wings. Looking forward to Savage going ape shit on the Link eventually. I know it's coming! Boo! to the Fiesta Garden being cordial. Hogan/Jumbo will make for a nice "Everyone Chant U.S.A." moment in between violent cage matches. The Lariat seems angry. That is bad for someone, or a lot of someones. Throw Rich and Sawyer in a cage too!!! Good stuff! Looking forward to Rage.
  4. I'm with you on that one. Bland as bland can be with some kind of strange military biker gimmick that just isn't remotely interesting.
  5. WWF drops Grizzly Boone and Bobby Duncum and picks up Fidel Sierra and Rocky King
  6. We open to Bob Backlund sitting Indian style on the floor of the dressing room with the WWF Title folded up in his lap. He is gently rocking back and forth and staring at the belt. Bob Backlund: Tonight a man named William Graham is going to attempt to deprive me of the one thing in this world that I care about. Tonight a man who has the audacity to refer to himself as "Superstar" is going to try and best me in competition so that he may lay claim to the championship that I have made the most important in the world. Tonight a man who doesn't even deserve to occupy the same space in which I stand or inhale the same air in which I breathe is going to attempt to steal what is rightfully mine. Tonight in this very ring, I am going to decimate, masticate, and annihilate William Graham because I must. Backlund looks up from the belt, his eyes wide, and a terrifying smile crosses his face.... Bob Backlund: BECAUSE THIS IS MY CHAMPIONSHIP!! AND IF YOU TRY AND TAKE IT FROM ME, I....MUST....DESTROY YOUUUUU!!!!! We are taken to "Classy" Freddie Blassie along with Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov, The Red Scare "Classy" Freddie Blassie: Gunslingers, tonight my Red Scare is going to send you two pencil necked geeks to the big round up in the sky! We cut to Andre the Giant standing in front of a WWF backdrop. He rubs his massive hands together and speaks. Andre the Giant: Grizzly Muldoon, you've challenged the one true giant in professional wrestling! Tonight I am going to have to put you down in front of the whole world! We then cut to The Gunslingers, Scott Casey and Johnny Mantell. Scott Casey: Nikolai, Boris, you two may call yourselves the Red Scare, but here in the WWF, real cowboys aren't going to roll over and die just because some Russian punk calls them out. Johnny Mantell: Tonight you two fellas are going to experience America the cowboy way, and it's gonna be a nightmare for you Russians! We are taken to Bobby "The Brain" Heenan standing with WWF Tag Team Champions The British Bulldogs. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan: Listen up all you Humanoids! Tonight those two pretty boy idiots The Fantastics are getting the rematch they've been crying about for these belts. So when my men The British Bulldogs beat them fair and square for the second time, hopefully we can move on to some real competition! We cut to Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, The Fantastics in front of a WWF backdrop. Tommy Rogers: Bulldogs! Last time you needed that Weasel, Bobby Heenan to beat us! Now we have our eye on him, and on those titles! Bobby Fulton: You fooled us once British Bulldogs, but this time the Fantastics are gonna rock and roll all over your British Butts! Finally we cut to "Superstar" Billy Graham in his tie dyed tank top working out with a power twister. After a few pumps he drops the bar and speaks.. "Superstar" Billy Graham: The time has arrived Bobby Backlund! The Man of the Hour, the Tower of Power, Too Sweet to be Sour, the Superstar, Billy Graham is coming for you, and he is coming for that World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship Brother. So in just a few short minutes the largest arms in the world are gonna bring home the gold on the Saturday Night's Main Event! Superstar hits the double bicep pose and the camera freezes on him before... The opening strains of "Obsession" by Animotion hit as a video begins to play showcasing many of the wrestlers that will compete tonight. We see footage of Andre squashing opponents in the corner. The Fantastics using the Rocket Launcher. King Kong Bundy using the Big Splash. "Superstar" Billy Graham flexing his massive biceps. The Scufflin' Hillbillies square dancing in the ring. The British Bulldogs using a double clothesline. WWF Champion Bob Backlund with a crazed look on his face. Sgt. Slaughter throwing up a salute, and then we cut to the logo..... The camera pans over the sold out Nassau Veteran's Memorial Coliseum before cutting to the announce position where Vince McMahon is dressed in his best powder blue suit and next to him is a man making his return to the WWF commentary booth, Gorilla Monsoon! Vince McMahon: Hello Everyone! and Welcome to Saturday Night's Main Event! I'm Vince McMahon, joined tonight by Gorilla Monsoon, and what a night of action we have in store for you! Gorilla Monsoon: You can say that again Vince. They're hanging from the rafters here tonight in Uniondale! Championships will be on the line, a new champion is guaranteed to be crowned in a twenty man battle royal, and the Eighth Wonder of the World, Andre the Giant will see action right here tonight. It is going to be a spectacular for sure. Vince McMahon: We are going to kick things off with a match for the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship. Tell them about it Gorilla. Gorilla Monsoon: Well, this is a rematch from the finals of the tournament to crown the WWF Tag Team Champions. That night both The Fantastics of Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers and The British Bulldogs of Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid won several matches en route to meeting one another. Just when it looked like The Fantastics were going to walk away with the titles, that weasel Bobby "The Brain" Heenan stuck his nose in there and pretty much handed The Bulldogs the win and the belts. Vince McMahon: Tonight The Fantastics are getting the rematch they've been asking for, so without further adieu let's head down to "The Fink" Howard Finkel and kick things off! 1 Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit -The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith/The Dynamite Kid) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton/Tommy Rogers)- WWF World Tag Team Titles An amazing balls to the wall tag team match to start the show that went nearly thirty minutes. Both teams held the advantage several times during the match, and the fans were 100% behind The Fantastics, and the "Weasel" chants for Bobby Heenan were loud and frequent. It looked like The Fantastics were going to bring home the gold as they had The Dynamite Kid on the ropes and scored several two counts on him. Finally they planted him in the center of the ring, and Tommy tagged in Bobby who scaled the ropes and the Fantastic Rocket Launcher brought the fans to their feet. Fulton crashed down on Dynamite Kid for what was sure to be the winning fall, and that is when Bobby "The Brain" Heenan jumped up onto the apron to argue with the referee about The Fantastics double teaming. Tommy Rogers was having none of it and went over and took hold of Heenan, who managed to keep the referee in between them. Davey Boy Smith used this opportunity to head into the ring, pull Bobby Fulton off of Dynamite, rake his eyes, and drop him with a piledriver. Then right about the time that Rogers blasted Heenan with a punch to the face, Davey Boy put Dynamite on top of Fulton. The referee ordered Rogers out of the ring, and he went out after Heenan, and then the referee turned around, saw Dynamite covering Fulton and counted One, Two, Three. Winners: The British Bulldogs Gorilla Monsoon: What a miscarriage of justice! The Fantastics had the titles won, and that Weasel just cost them again. Vince McMahon: Smith used the distraction perfectly to take Fulton out, and by hook or by crook, The British Bulldogs retain the WWF World Tag Team Titles. Gorilla Monsoon: Look at Heenan and The Bulldogs high tailing it away from ringside. The Fantastics will be looking for another shot real soon, I promise you that. Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back with Anndreee The Giant!!! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, this next match will see two men who combined weight over One Thousand pounds step into the ring to do battle. The Seven Foot Four, Five Hundred Pound, Eighth Wonder of the World, Andre the Giant and the Five Hundred Pound Plus Grizzly Muldoon. Gorilla Monsoon: This Muldoon is a relative newcomer here to the World Wrestling Federation, but he is looking to make a name for himself and there is no better way to do that than to call out the biggest and the baddest, and they certainly don't come bigger and badder than Andre the Giant. Vince McMahon: Gorilla, when you were a competitor, you were nearly four hundred pounds. Have you ever seen a match with two men this size? Gorilla Monsoon: Very rarely do you see two guys this big anywhere! Let alone in the same ring at the same time. This may be a case of the Irresistible Force meeting the Immovable Object. 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Andre the Giant vs Grizzly Muldoon These two monsters didn't bother with a collar and elbow and just went straight to trading massive blows in the center of the ring. It looked very briefly like Muldoon was going to be able to withstand the power of Andre, but after about the fourth blow from The Giant, the facade of Muldoon began to crack. When the next blow landed, Muldoon stumbled backwards into the ropes and then Andre went on the attack. The next several minutes were all Andre the Giant. Finally he put the massive Muldoon on the ground with a big boot, then hit the Sitdown Splash for the One, Two, Three. Winner: Andre the Giant Gorilla Monsoon: So much for the big Grizzly! Andre skinned that bear with minimal effort Vince. Vince McMahon: Ha! Ha! Ha! There is a reason that Andre has been THE Giant all of these years. Many have tried, and may have failed to take that crown. Gorilla Monsoon: For sure. Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back and the WWF World Championship will be on the line! Don't miss it! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, welcome back to Saturday Night's Main Event! It's time now for Bob Backlund to defend the World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Championship against "Superstar" Billy Graham! Gorilla Monsoon: There is certainly no love lost between these two men, and they have been waiting to get one another inside that squared circle for some time now. Tonight, right here in Uniondale, they are finally going to get that chance, and you can cut the electricity with a knife! Vince McMahon: Let's head down to The Fink and get this Heavyweight Championship match under way. 1 Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit -"Superstar" Billy Graham vs Bob Backlund- WWF World Heavyweight Title This started off slow as both men tried to feel one another out. It was Backlund who made the first move, shooting in and taking Graham to the mat. He proceeded to ride the "Superstar" for several minutes and keep him grounded with superior mat work, paying particular attention to the neck and shoulders of Graham. Finally when Backlund had a front face lock clamped on, The Superstar used his massive strength and pushed himself off the canvas. The crowd came alive and began willing Billy to his feet, and once Graham got there, he fired several elbows into the midsection of Backlund. When Backlund released the hold, Graham leveled him with a clothesline that sent the champion to the canvas. Graham took a moment to shake the cobwebs out, and by then Backlund was back to his feet, but now it was Billy Graham who was on the attack. Superstar blasted Backlund with punches and clubbing strikes to the back that had the champion reeling. Graham whipped Backlund into the ropes and blasted him with another huge clothesline, then scooped Backlund up and planted him in the center of the ring with a bodyslam. The crowd was going crazy for "The Superstar" and he reached down and grabbed two handfuls of Backlund's hair, and that is when Bob Backlund blatantly stiff armed him in the groin right in front of the referee. Winner, by Disqualification: "Superstar" Billy Graham Gorilla Monsoon: You have got to be kidding me! That was as blatant as it gets. As Graham drops to his knees clutching his groin, Backlund gets to his feet with a maniacal look on his face. The referee attempts to step in between Backlund and Graham but is grabbed by Backlund and tossed out of the ring. Backlund then turns back around and delivers a vicious kick to the face of "Superstar" Billy Graham who was trying to get back to his feet. Backlund then wastes no time in pouncing on Graham and applying the Cross Face Chicken Wing. Vince McMahon: Can we please get some help out here for "Superstar" Billy Graham? A host of referee's, officials, and other backstage personnel including Bruno Sammartino rush to the ring and pry a practically drooling Bob Backlund off of "Superstar" Graham before he can do any more damage. Bob Backlund leaves the ring as all of the men surround the fallen Graham, but once Backlund has retrieved the WWF Heavyweight Title he slides back into the ring and clubs one of the unidentified officials upside the head with it. Chaos erupts in the ring, as some of the officials rush to protect the fallen Graham and the fallen official, while others attempt to push Backlund out of the ring. In the middle of it all, Bruno Sammartino shoves aside two referees and nearly tears off his suit coat, before raising his fists to Bob Backlund as the Uniondale crowd goes absolutely nuclear. Bob Backlund smiles maniacally at Sammartino, before falling to the mat, rolling out of the ring and heading up the aisle as the show went to commercial. -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back Ladies and Gentleman. We've gotten things back under control at ringside, but before we get to our next contest, we'd like to show you this very special video presentation. A video begins to play showcasing various WWF wrestlers delivering punishment to their opponents. Then a voice over begins over top of the footage.... "This year we are going to celebrate the birth of America with a different kind of fireworks. On July 4th, Live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, the World Wrestling Federation will make it's debut on Closed Circuit Television. All of your favorite wrestlers, all of the championships, all in one night. Join us for the the biggest fireworks show happening anywhere this Independence Day....... 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -The Gunslingers (Scott Casey/Johnny Mantell) vs Red Scare (Nikolai Volkoff/Boris Zhukov) w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie A back and forth encounter that saw the Gunslingers utilize their speed advantage in the early stages to keep the big Russians off guard. However once Volkoff caught Mantell off the ropes with a bear hug the momentum shifted and the Red Scare took over and beat on Mantell for quite a while. The crowd was hot every time that Mantell got close to tagging in Casey, but the Scare continually managed to cut him off. Finally, the hot tag came and the place went nuts as Casey went to town on both Zhukov and Volkoff with rights and lefts. He knocked Nikolai out of the ring and sent Boris into the ropes and caught him with a huge back body drop! Casey tagged in Mantell and they looked to be setting Zhukov off up for their patented Double Bulldog, but Volkoff entered the ring and blasted Casey in the back of the head with Freddie Blassie's cane drawing the Disqualification. Volkoff grabbed Zhukov and the Red Scare retreated before The Gunslingers could gather their wits. Winners, by DQ: The Gunslingers Gorilla Monsoon: Nikolai saw the end was near for Boris, so he took the cheap way out. The Gunslingers pick up the victory, but I have to believe it's not how they wanted to get it. Vince McMahon: Certainly not Gorilla. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of this rivalry. Alright Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back with the Battle Royal!! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Alright Gorilla, it's time for us to crown a champion! Twenty Men, One Ring. This is the Battle Royal for the Intercontinental Championship!! Gorilla Monsoon: Hands down one of the most dangerous matches in all of professional wrestling. You've got guys coming at you from all angles. You almost have to have eyes in the back of your head. Whoever walks away from this thing the winner, will deserve to be the Intercontinental Champion, for sure. 20 Man Over The Top Rope Battle Royal -Cousin Luke, Davis Sammartino, DJ Peterson, Hillbilly Jim, Joe Savoldi, Ken Patera, Ray Candy, Sgt. Slaughter, Tito Santana, Bobby Jaggers, Black Bart, Tim Horner, David Schultz, Greg Valentine, The Iron Sheik, Kevin Kelly, King Kong Bundy, Bobby Duncum, Robert Fuller, Pedro Morales- WWF Intercontinental Title Elimination #1: Tim Horner and Bobby Jaggers were battling it out near the ropes. Tito Santana saw an opening and nailed a big dropkick that sent Bobby Jaggers out of the ring and to the floor. Elimination #2: David Schultz was pounding on anyone and everyone he could get his hands on. He was a man with no friends for sure. When he saw Cousin Luke not paying attention, Schultz grabbed two hand fulls of overalls and hoisted him to the floor. Elimination #3: King Kong Bundy was pounding away at Joe Savoldi in the corner, when David Sammartino clubbed him from behind with a forearm strike. Bundy turned around and began to exchange punches with David, but then Bundy's Heenan Family stablemate Greg Valentine hammered David Sammartino from behind. Bundy and Valentine then tossed David to the floor. Elimination #4: Valentine and Bundy didn't waste any time after getting rid of Sammartino, each grabbing hold of Joe Savoldi and pitching him out of the ring as well. Elimination #5: "The Candyman" Ray Candy and Bobby Duncum were laying some heavy shots on one another. It took about a half dozen from each man before the other began to stagger, then Candy fired off a headbutt that wobbled Duncum. Candy grabbed hold of Bobby Duncum by the leg, and DJ Peterson who was nearby grabbed the other leg and together they dumped Duncum to the floor. Elimination #6: The Iron Sheik and Sgt. Slaughter had found one another to the surprise of absolutely no one. They were waging war in a corner of the ring and Slaughter was getting the upper hand, until the Sheik lifted a deliberate forearm into the groin of the Sarge. Tim Horner happened to see this and charged the Sheik, but the crafty veteran side stepped and simply clotheslined Tim Horner right out of the ring. Elimination #7: Then the roof came off the Nassau Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, as Sgt. Slaughter rose to his feet and hooked The Iron Sheik from behind and tossed him to the arena floor! Elimination #8: Pedro Morales and "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly had been duking it out for quite some time, and it looked like Pedro had finally had enough of messing around and he was really pounding away on Kelly. Unfortunately for Morales, he never saw David Schultz come up behind him. One clothesline to the back of the head later, and Pedro Morales was eliminated. Elimination #9: "The Southern Gentleman" Robert Fuller had been picking and choosing his shots, and generally staying away from the action for most of the match. He finally saw what looked like a great opening and jumped on Hillbilly Jim after Valentine and Bundy left him laying. Fuller laid in a few boots, and then started to back away as he had been doing the whole match, but he backed directly into Ken Patera. Fuller tried his best to beg off, but Patera wasn't having it. Several big right hands and one powerful clothesline later, and Robert Fuller was eliminated. Elimination #10: Sgt. Slaughter had King Kong Bundy teetering. He had nailed him with two huge clotheslines, and it looked like a third might put the massive Bundy down. Slaughter charged across the ring for momentum, but as he hit the ropes, The Iron Sheik reached up from the arena floor and pulled the top rope down causing Sgt. Slaughter to sail out of the ring. At this point there was chaos on the floor as an irate Slaughter got to his feet and began to brawl with Iron Sheik. A host of referee's and officials swarmed ringside to separate them and get them to the back. Elimination #11 & 12: Ignoring the chaos on the floor, "The Candyman" Ray Candy saw King Kong Bundy in a vulnerable state and tried to get Bundy out of the ring. Candy pushed Bundy to the ropes and hooked one of Bundy's massive legs and was trying to push him out of the ring. The two struggled until they were leaning on the ropes wrestling one another, it was then that Ken Patera shocked the capacity crowd with a display of herculean strength as he grabbed one leg of Ray Candy and one leg of King Kong Bundy and hoisted both of them out of the ring. Vince McMahon: OH MY!!!! Gorilla Monsoon: That had to be well over Eight Hundred Pounds that Ken Patera just picked up and tossed out of that ring. Unreal strength on this guy Vince. Vince McMahon: Ha! You can say that again! Ladies and Gentleman, don't go anywhere, Saturday Night's Main Event will return after these messages! -Commercial Break- Elimination #13: The show returned from commercial just in time to see Greg Valentine and David Schultz each grab a leg and dump Hillbilly Jim out of the ring and to the floor. Elimination #14: Black Bart was choking away at DJ Peterson in the corner, while just off to the left Tito Santana and Kevin Kelly were exchanging punches. Santana got the best of the exchange, dropping Kelly to the mat, then turned and grabbed Black Bart from behind and tipped him over the ropes and to the floor. Elimination #15: Kevin Kelly was quickly back to his feet and was about to grab Tito Santana from behind, when Ken Patera charged across the ring and blasted him with a clothesline that sent him to the floor. Elimination #16: As all five of the remaining men in the Battle Royal were battling with one another, Greg Valentine retreated away from the other four after taking a hard shot from Tito Santana. However, when DJ Peterson got cracked with a hard elbow shot from David Schultz and staggered a few steps away as well, Valentine wasted no time in grabbing Peterson by the hair and trunks and sending him out of the ring. Elimination #17: David Schultz was peppering Ken Patera with lefts and rights that had the former Olympian reeling towards the ropes. Schultz fired off another huge right hand that sent Patera sagging onto the rope. Tito Santana meanwhile blasted Greg Valentine with a dropkick that sent "The Hammer" away from him. Santana then turned and saw David Schultz standing right behind him, so he dropkicked Schultz in the back. The momentum sent Schultz into Patera, who backdropped Schultz out and to the floor. Elimination #18: Greg Valentine saw an opportunity and grabbed Tito Santana the moment he got back to his feet and launched him at Ken Patera hoping to take both of them out. He got half his wish as Patera backdropped Santana to the floor nearly on top of Schultz. Elimination #19: Valentine faked a charge at Patera who ducked down looking for a third backdrop, but Valentine lowered the boom and hammered Patera with a forearm shot across the back. Valentine fired Patera across the ring with an Irish whip and drilled Patera with a clothesline that staggered the strong man. Valentine propelled himself into the ropes and blasted Patera in the head with a big elbow that sent Patera several steps backwards toward the ropes. Greg Valentine went into the ropes again and charged with another elbow at Patera, but Patera side stepped and clotheslined Valentine in the back of the head which sent him over the top rope and out of the ring. Winner, and NEW WWF Intercontinental Champion: Ken Patera Vince McMahon: OH YEAH!!! The Olympic Strongman, Ken Patera becomes the Intercontinental Champion!! Gorilla Monsoon: He showed a lot of guts and intestinal fortitude and came away with the victory and the title. Not to mention that impressive feat of strength lifting both Bundy and The Candyman out of there at the same time. Vince McMahon: It was definitely quite a showing for Ken Patera here tonight, and we hope you've all thought it was quite a show here on Saturday Night's Main Event! Don't forget to follow all of the World Wrestling Federation action every weekend on Superstars of Wrestling, and don't forget we will be making our closed circuit television debut on the Fourth of July when we present...WRESTLEMANIA!! It didn't even take him a minute to put the big squash on him and pick up the win! Lord Alfred Hayes: Last week we saw Grizzly Muldoon watching the match of Andre the Giant, and don't look now but it appears that this week Andre is returning the favor. Vince McMahon: It also looks like "Mean" Gene is going to get a word with him. We cut to an elevated platform where Andre the Giant is standing with his arms crossed watching the ring. "Mean" Gene hurries up the stairs with a microphone and comes to stand next to The Giant. "Mean" Gene: Andre the Giant, we were scheduled to speak later on in the show, but you just saw Grizzly Muldoon put away his opponent in under a minute. Can I get your thoughts? Andre the Giant: I think he is just another man pretending to be the true giant of wrestling. "Mean" Gene: Last week after your match, you motioned for him to come in the ring and fight. We all saw him say Not Yet. What do you think that was all about? Andre the Giant: He is trying to play games with me Gene. But I don't play games. If he wants to fight me, I will fight him at the Main Event tonight on NBC. At this point Grizzly Muldoon is most of the way up the aisle and is near the podium. Andre points down at him and yells... Andre the Giant: YOU AND ME! TONIGHT!! Muldoon nods his head and begins rubbing his fists together, as Andre cracks a big smile. "Mean" Gene: Alright, Ladies and Gentleman! It sounds like the Battle of the Big Men is on for tonight at Saturday Night's Main Event!! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back everyone to Superstars of Wrestling! Let's head to the ring where a newcomer to the World Wrestling Federation, "The Southern Gentleman" Robert Fuller is set for action. _______________________________________________________________ During the match we got a pre-taped screen in screen promo from the newcomer. He is dressed in a fine three piece gray suit and a matching cowboy hat. He has an obviously fake smile plastered on his face as it begins. Robert Fuller: Welllll, Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentleman. My name is Robert Fuller, and I'm coming to you from the heart of the South, my hometown Memphis, Tennessee. I just wanted to take a moment and do as a fine Southern Gentleman such as myself should do and introduce myself to all of you fine folks out there. What do you think about this guy Bruno? Bruno Sammartino: He reminds me of a used car salesman or something. Vince McMahon: HA! HA! HA! Lord Alfred Hayes: Regardless of how you feel about him, he put on quite a dominant performance in this match, and that Fuller Leglock drew an instant submission from his opponent. Bruno Sammartino: I wasn't questioning his skill, just his character. Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back with The Iron Sheik! PROMOTIONAL CONSIDERATION PAID FOR BY THE FOLLOWING: Bolder, Better, try the latest and greatest in refreshment....New Coke!! -Commercial Break- As the show came back from commercial Howard Finkel and the opponent for The Iron Sheik were already in the ring. The Fink announced the man as Jerry Allen, and then the music of The Iron Sheik began to play. But when the curtain parted, it was WWF Champion Bob Backlund, dressed in a suit who came sprinting toward the ring. He slid under the bottom ropes and popped briefly to his feet before double legging the unsuspecting Allen and taking him to the mat. Backlund began to drop repeated forearm blows onto the face of the stunned competitor, before rolling him over and hooking him in the Cross Face Chicken Wing. Backlund was squealing with rage as he violently jerked at the head and arm of Allen, until a host of referee's, officials, and security filled up the ring and pulled Backlund off of him. As EMT's hit the ring to check on the fallen man, the camera focused on Backlund as he was drug by a horde of people out of the arena. He could be heard screaming "DID YOU THINK YOU COULD JUST BRING TERRY ALLEN BACK WITH NO REPERCUSSIONS!!! DID YOU THINK I WOULD ALLOW HIM TO RETURN!! THIS IS MY COMPANY!! IT IS MY TITLE!!! MINE!!!! MIIIINNNEEEEEE!!!!" -Commercial Break- Bruno Sammartino: Someone needs to kick his butt and show him... Vince McMahon: Umm Bruno... Welcome Back Ladies and Gentleman! Bob Backlund has been removed from the arena, and we've found a replacement opponent for The Iron Sheik, so let's head down to the ring! _______________________________________________________________ -Match 3- The Iron Sheik w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie beat Duane Gill by submission in 3:38 with the Camel Clutch _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: The Iron Sheik makes it look easy and puts his opponent away with the dreaded Camel Clutch. Lord Alfred Hayes: Iron Sheik has spent the better part of his time recently teaming with Nikolai Volkoff, but now that he is back in singles competition, he will definitely be looking for singles gold. Vince McMahon: We'll find out for certain a bit later, but you'd have to believe that "Classy" Freddie Blassie would have done his best to have him included in the battle royal for the Intercontinental Title. Ladies and Gentleman, when we return it will be The Gunslingers in tag team action. Don't go anywhere! -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ -Match 4- The Gunslingers (Johnny Mantell/Scott Casey) over Brian Costello/Barry Hardy in 4:53 when Casey pinned Costello after the Double Bulldog. _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: All Right!! The Gunslingers with another win!! Let's take a look at the replay Bruno... Bruno Sammartino: Mantell tags in Casey who cuts off Hardy as he attempted to come in. Then they both grab Costello and drop him with the Double Bulldog and it's all over. Lord Alfred Hayes: The Gunslingers have been racking up the wins here in the World Wrestling Federation, and you'd have to think they will be in contention to challenge whoever wins between The British Bulldogs and The Fantastics at Saturday Night's Main Event. Vince McMahon: They would certainly have to be near the top of the list Alfred. Right now it's time to head over the "Mean" Gene and Update, take it away Gene! With the latest from the World Wrestling Federation, this is Update with: "Mean" Gene: Ladies and Gentleman, we are just hours away from the World Wrestling Federation's debut on network television, so please be sure and join us when NBC presents Saturday Night's Main Event tonight LIVE from the Nassau Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York! We have quite the night of action on tap for you, so let's get right down to the details. In the main event, we are going to see the World Wrestling Federation Champion Bob Backlund defend that title against the man who he originally won the title from some eight years ago. A man who recently returned to the WWF, revitalized and rejuvenated, I am of course talking about "Superstar" Billy Graham. Let's hear now from both men. We cut to "Superstar" Billy Graham in front of a WWF backdrop. He is wearing a tie dyed tank top and sunglasses. "Superstar" Graham: Bobby Backlund! The clock is ticking daddy, and we are just hours away from the final piece of sand ticking down outta that hour glass, and then you'll be standing across the ring from the largest arms in the world Jack. Once "Superstar" Billy Graham wraps these twenty four inch pythons around your body and starts to squeeze the life out of you Bobby Backlund, it won't matter if you a little bit crazy, or a whole lot crazy, cause just like all the rest you'll holler Uncle and once again that gold belt will be around the well defined waist of "Superstar" Billy Graham. Count on it Daddy!! We cut to another shot of Bob Backlund in a disheveled state. His suit jacket is missing, his vest is unbuttoned, his shirt in untucked, and his bow tie is askew. He is staring at the WWF Title and then slowly raises his head to stare wild eyed at the camera. Bob Backlund: William Graham, your braggadocios nature does not endear you to anyone but the simple minded and the egocentric. A true champion such as myself does not feel the need to constantly trumpet their merits to everyone who will listen. Tonight I add you to the list of men who have tried and failed to usurp my position as the Champion of the World Wrestling Federation. Men like James Snuka. Men like Terry Allen. Tonight you become another name in the record book of the men who think they have what it takes to unseat the single greatest champion in the history of the World Wrestling Federation. So, I beg you, bring your best William Graham, because when all is said and done, you will be laying on the mat clutching your wounded shoulder and wondering where it all went wrong. The answer is the moment you challenged me for this title. It is mine. It Is Mine....IT IS MINE....IT IS MIIINNNEEEE!!!! We cut back to "Mean" Gene who has a look on his face that says "that man is crazy." "Mean" Gene: That one is sure to produce some fireworks. Also on tap is the rematch for the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship between The British Bulldogs and The Fantastics. These two teams met in the finals of the tournament to crown the new WWF Tag Team Champions, and it was Bobby "The Brain" Heenan revealing himself as the manager of The British Bulldogs that allowed them to come away with the titles. Now that The Fantastics are prepared to have Heenan at ringside, will they be able to come away with the titles. We will find out this evening. Also tonight we will see the Seven Foot Four, Five Hundred Pound, Andre The Giant step into the ring against the Five Hundred Pound newcomer, Grizzly Muldoon. Muldoon so far has finished every man he has faced in one on one competition in under a minute. Will he be able to handle Andre the Giant the same way? This announcer doesn't believe so, but we will find out tonight. Just signed by the office of World Wrestling Federation President Jack Tunney today is more tag team action as we will see The Gunslingers of Scott Casey and Johnny Mantell step into the ring against "Classy" Freddie Blassie's new duo of Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov, The Red Scare. Let's go to comments from them. We cut to Blassie, Volkoff, and Zhukov in front of a WWF backdrop. "Classy" Freddie Blassie: Gunslingers, you two stupid cowboys are in for the beatings of your miserable lives tonight. When my two Comrades here take hold of you two pencil necked geeks, they'll have to scrape what's left of you off of their boots!! Nikolai Volkoff: Comrade Blassie speak the truth! Gunslinger, tonight Comrade Boris and I destroy you in the name of Mother Russia! Zhukov smiles and nods at the camera as Volkoff rubs his hands together and Blassies lets out a big laugh. "Mean" Gene: Also tonight Ladies and Gentleman, we are going to see Twenty Men step into the ring at the same time and compete in one of the most dangerous contest in all of professional wrestling, an over the top rope battle royal, and the winner will become the new Intercontinental Champion! Already announced were Black Bart, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Ken Patera, and Joe Savoldi. I can officially tell you that you will also see "The Candyman" Ray Candy, The Iron Sheik, "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly, David Sammartino, "The Southern Gentleman" Robert Fuller, and this man....Tito Santana! We cut to Tito Santana in front of the now familiar WWF backdrop Tito Santana: Tonight, I step into the ring with nineteen other men for a chance to become the new Intercontinental Champion. The odds are definitely stacked against me, but I'll fight until I can't fight anymore and if lady luck is on my side, I will become the new Intercontinental Champion! Arriba!! "Mean" Gene: Ten other man will be competing in that battle royal tonight, but you'll have to tune in Live too Saturday Night's Main Event to see who they are! For Update, I'm Gene Okerlund! -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ -Match 5- "Dr. D" David Schultz defeated S.D. Jones in 5:09 with an Elbow Drop from the Second Rope. _______________________________________________________________. Vince McMahon: David Schultz picks up the win against S.D. Jones, but it certainly feels like he was toying with him in there Alfred. Lord Alfred Hayes: It definitely seems that way to me. Schultz had the man beat just a minute or two into the match, but seemed to be enjoying himself laying a beating on Jones. Bruno Sammartino: He seems like a loudmouth and a bully. Vince McMahon: That's for sure Bruno! That will do it for this week on Superstars of Wrestling! Be sure to join us right here next week, and be sure to tune in on NBC tonight for Saturday Night's Main Event!!

Instead of a segment by segment replay, I just want to state again how awesome it is that you find something for literally every single person on your show to do. Like seriously, how many of us have had The Batten Twins in this game and done very little with them? Here you are having them run with Tully Blanchard and be part of a main event angle. I struggle to make sure that I have all of my top guys doing something. So seriously man, kudos to you for however you pull this off. Your show is so entertaining because you make us care about everyone from Lawler to Patrolman Veasey. They all have a character and they all have something going on. Well booked, well done. I can't wait to see how things play out at Parade of Champions.
  9. I will back this up 100% When I was ring announcing shows and we brought in "name" guys most of them would give you a "hey" and a limp hand shake, let you get a picture and that was the extent of their interest in you unless you were the guy paying them or a hot girl. I worked a dozen or more shows with Douglas, and he realized pretty quickly that I was a big Franchise fan, but I never fanboyed him, and he was always super cool with me, would give me pointers on my announcing, and would sit and bullshit for hours about politics, working for schools (which I previously did as well), tell me about his sons, and stuff like that. I burned him a copy of GBBrutals Douglas set so that he could show some of his early non-ECW run to his boys, and he was super thankful for it, and he even gave me his phone number and told me I could call him if some promoter was trying to fuck me, or if we needed him for a show or something. Hell, one night when a show was running super later, he and I sat and listened to Ricky Morton tell Rat stories from the 80's that even had Shane shaking his head and going "Jesus Fucking Christ, Ricky." So yeah, they say never to meet your heroes, bullshit....Douglas was my favorite ECW guy for it's whole run, and he is amazing.
  10. WWF sends Big John Studd to USWA for Matt Borne WWF releases: Billy Two Eagles, Jules Strongbow, Steve Doll, Steve Simpson
  11. Holy Shit!! What an ending....but we'll get there!! Sherri hangs on to the title in the opener, can't say I'm shocked, bring on Wendi Richter!! Ricky and Robert take down the California Connection, but after the match Madril and Chicky come looking for a shot. That sounds like a fun feud! High impact with a lot of blood, and some fun Fiesta Gardens to boot! Awesome work on the Pit. You have Piper down, and I could hear Savage's signature growl dripping off of every word. Link makes a great first feud for Macho Man, and I think you are playing off some old history in this game, so well done there. Flair's feud with Percy's men heats up some more as The Irwin's save Landel from a clean loss. I sense some 8 man tags coming up! Hulkamania runs wild in the AWA tonight Brother, Jack, Dude!! U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A. I honestly thought Hall and Hennig would take the belts tonight, but a four way schmoz ends it and we will see this one again I am sure!! and then we come to the Main Event..... The Lariat shows us the first chink in the armor of Nikita Koloff, but then has to take the time to clean up the rest of the trash at ringside which gives The Nightmare enough time to recover. Wham, one sickle, Hansen being a tough bastard manages to get back up, and then WHAM, another sickle, and it is all over.....The Russian Nightmare becomes the AWA World Champion....and I love it!!! I always wanted to see Nikita on top just destroying everyone, and you have it captured perfectly. Having him call out everyone, and then having Jones start calling names from other companies.... Great Stuff. Long Live the Russian Nightmare!!
  12. 1) Pedro Morales vs Johnny Rodz The former WWF and Intercontinental Champion Morales made a triumphant return and forced Rodz to submit to his patented Boston Crab. Winner: Pedro Morales 2) The Scufflin' Hillbillies (Hillbilly Jim/Cousin Luke) vs The Glamour Boys (Steve Doll/Steve Simpson) A pretty one sided affair that ended when Cousin Luke hit the Mule Kick on Simpson, followed by Hillbilly Jim dropping a big leg drop for the 1,2,3. Winners: The Scufflin' Hillbilles 3) "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly w/Jimmy Hart & Sunshine vs "White Lightning" Tim Horner Horner made his WWF debut inside the famed MSG, and although it was an uphill battle for him from the start, he managed to take Kelly to a draw in the 15 minute time limit. Winner: DRAW 4) The Gunslingers (Scott Casey/Johnny Mantell) vs The Tribe (Billy Two Eagles/Jules Strongbow) A high paced back and forth match that saw The Gunslingers pick up a clean and decisive victory over the men who had been troubling them for weeks. Winners: The Gunslingers 5) The Iron Sheik w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie vs Joe Savoldi Savoldi did his best to use his high flying tactics against the Sheik, but between his amateur skills and some good old fashioned cheating, The Iron Sheik was able to pick up the win. Winner: The Iron Sheik 6) King Kong Bundy/The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith/Dynamite Kid) w/Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs DJ Peterson/"The Candyman" Ray Candy/David Sammartino The Heenan Family were dominant in this 6 man tag. The Candyman and DJ Peterson got in some offense early, but once David Sammartino was tagged in, he was worked over by The Bulldogs and then squashed by Bundy for the win. Winners: King Kong Bundy and The British Bulldogs 7) The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton/Tommy Rogers) vs The Highwaymen (Bobby Fulton/Bobby Jaggers) A good little tag team match that saw The Fantastics pick up a nice win just days before their shot at the WWF Tag Team Titles. The Rocket Launcher on Duncum was the end of this one. Winners: The Fantastics 8) Sgt. Slaughter vs Nikolai Volkoff w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie A back and forth battle that saw the Sarge about to come away with the victory when Boris Zhukov hit the ring drawing the DQ. The Gunslingers came out to even up the odds, and the fans in the Garden certainly enjoyed Slaughter and the cowboys standing tall at the end. Winner, by DQ: Sgt. Slaughter 9) "Superstar" Billy Graham vs Big John Studd w/Jimmy Hart & Sunshine A battle of powerhouses that saw both men batter one another. The ending came when Superstar Graham showed off his amazing power and to the shock of everyone bodyslammed the mammoth Studd in the center of the ring and covered him for the three count. Both Hart and Sunshine walked away discouraged as soon as Studd was slammed. Graham put on a pose down for the fans after the bell rang. Winner: "Superstar" Billy Graham 10) Andre The Giant/Tito Santana/Ken Patera vs Bob Backlund/Grizzly Muldoon/Black Bart This massive six man war went full tilt for over ten minutes, but it all fell to pieces on the heel side when Muldoon accidentally hit Backlund with a forearm. When he recovered, the WWF Champion unleashed a verbal tirade on his partners, then headed for the dressing room allowing himself to be counted out. After the bell, Muldoon tried to attack Andre, but The Giant knocked him out of the ring with a huge right hand. Winners, by Count Out: Andre The Giant/Tito Santana/Ken Patera (A bonus show for this week as a couple of guys get to debut, and a couple of folks who are probably going to get the axe get to do a job on the way out the door)
  13. Airing in Syndication all across the United States of America from the Allentown Agricultural Hall in Allentown, Pennsylvania the World Wrestling Federation presents: A funky bass rhythm mixed with a synthesizer beat begins as clips of all the World Wrestling Federation stars such as Andre the Giant, The Fantastics, King Kong Bundy, Sgt. Slaughter, The British Bulldogs, Greg Valentine and Tito Santana in action plays. It ends with Bob Backlund holding aloft the WWF World Heavyweight title and then cuts to the logo..... Vince McMahon: Hello Everyone, and welcome to the World Wrestling Federation's Superstars of Wrestling! I'm Vince McMahon and joining me at ringside is Bruno Sammartino, wrestling's Living Legend and His Lordship, Lord Alfred Hayes. This week you will see Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, The Fantastics! Then from there, the one and only ANDRE THE GIANT!!! Bruno Sammartino: My Son, David Sammartino will compete this week, as well as that no good Nikolai Volkoff and his new partner. Lord Alfred Hayes: We will also see the WWF return of former Olympic weight lifter Ken Patera and we have very exciting news regarding Saturday Night's Main Event. Vince McMahon: It is definitely an action packed show today! So let's not waste any time! Take it away Howard Finkel! _______________________________________________________________ -Match 1- David Sammartino beat Frank Williams in 4:19 with a powerslam _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: Walk us through the replay Bruno! Bruno Sammartino: My David hoists Williams up and gives him the atomic drop, then he whips him into the ropes and gives him the big powerslam for the one, two, three. A nice win by David! Vince McMahon: It certainly was Bruno, it certainly was. Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back to Superstars of Wrestling! Earlier we said we had exciting news regarding Saturday Night's Main Event, let's not wait any longer. Let's head to Update with "Mean" Gene! With the latest from the World Wrestling Federation, this is Update with: "Mean" Gene: Ladies and Gentleman, as we continue to roll toward the debut of the World Wrestling Federation on NBC with Saturday Night's Main Event, anticipation continues to grow. Well this week news came in from the office of WWF President Jack Tunney, and it is going to spike that to a fever pitch. Let's head now to a word from Mr. Tunney! Jack Tunney: After much deliberation, myself and other officials of the World Wrestling Federation have decided to reinstate the Intercontinental Championship. The current growth of the WWF and our introduction to network television necessitates the need for another championship, and the lineage of the Intercontinental Title makes it just the thing to fill the need. At the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event on May the Ninth, a Twenty Man, Over the Top Rope Battle Royal will be held, and the man who wins that contest will become the Intercontinental Champion. Congratulations to all of the competitors who will get a chance to compete, and may the best man win. Thank You. The video fades out and we cut back to "Mean" Gene. "Mean" Gene: There you have it Ladies and Gentleman! A Twenty Man Battle Royal to crown a brand new Intercontinental Champion, and believe me when I tell you that as soon as rumors even began to swirl that a new Intercontinental Champion might be crowned, we had countries from around the globe begging to have the champion crowned on their soil. Heck, Rio De Janeiro even offered to host another tournament, but we said No Way! No, we are going to crown a brand new champion and you are going to see it Live! All you have to do is tune in when the World Wrestling Federation makes it's network debut with Saturday's Night Main Event! Now, here are just a few of the names that are set to compete in that battle royal. First up from the Bobby Heenan Family, we have Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. Next is a man you will see a little bit later today, former Olympian Ken Patera! The man who we saw make his high flying debut last week on Superstars, "Jumpin" Joe Savoldi! and this man.... Black Bart! We cut to Black Bart standing in front of a WWF backdrop. He is wearing a long black coat, a black cowboy hat, and is carrying a bullwhip. Black Bart: A twenty man battle royal for the Intercontinental Title? Bart spits a huge chew of tobacco onto the ground and smiles at the camera. Black Bart: WELL THAT'S JUST NINETEEN SISSIES THAT I AM GONNA HAVE TO PITCH OUTTA THE RING SO I CAN BRING HOME THE GOLD, NOW AIN'T IT!!! Bart rears back to crack the whip and the camera cuts to static. "Mean" Gene: With twenty men in the ring at once, almost anything can happen. I'll be back next week with a full run down of the names involved and final look at the card for the Saturday Night's Main Event. For Update, I'm Gene Okerlund. -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ -Match 2- Ken Patera over Jose Luis Rivera in 3:48 by submission with a Spinning Full Nelson _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: Ken Patera makes a triumphant return to the WWF and gets the win with the Full Nelson! Lord Alfred Hayes: The Full Nelson is a very painful move due to the immense pressure it puts on the neck and shoulders. When you have a man with the strength of Patera applying the hold it only increases that, and then when he begins spinning with you, I don't see how anyone could withstand it. Vince McMahon: A man of his strength certainly won't have any trouble picking men up and throwing them out of the ring in the Intercontinental Title Battle Royal. Lord Alfred Hayes: Definitely not. You have to think he'll be an odds on favorite based solely on the fact that I don't believe anyone in the match will be able to match his raw strength. Vince McMahon: I would think not Alfred. Ladies and Gentleman, we will be right back with the challengers for the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Titles at Saturday Night's Main Event, The Fantastics! Don't go anywhere!! PROMOTIONAL CONSIDERATION PAID FOR BY THE FOLLOWING: They sent him on a mission, and set him up to fail. But they made one mistake....they forgot they were dealing with Rambo! May 22nd....Rambo: First Blood Part 2!! -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back to Superstars of Wrestling! Let's head down to the ring for Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, The Fantastics!! _______________________________________________________________ -Match 3- The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton/Tommy Rogers) defeated Tom Stone/Pete Doherty in 5:11 when Fulton pinned Doherty after the Fantastic Flip _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: What a Maneuver!! If they do that to The British Bulldogs, we'll have new Tag Team Champions for sure! Bruno Sammartino: These two young men are very good athletes, and they combine the high flying with good basic wrestling. Lord Alfred Hayes: I must agree with Bruno. The Fantastics have all of the tools needed to defeat The Bulldogs, but keeping Bobby Heenan out of the match is going to be the biggest obstacle for them to overcome. Vince McMahon: The man who calls himself "The Brain" may certainly be the deciding factor in the contest if The Fantastics aren't careful. Alright, it's time now to head over to "Mean" Gene and his very special guest. Take it away Gene! The camera cuts to an elevated platform away from the ring where we see "Mean" Gene Okerlund standing with a microphone in his hands. "Mean" Gene: Ladies and Gentleman, I'd like you all to join me in welcoming my very special guest this week. A man who is returning to the World Wrestling Federation after suffering a heartbreaking defeat several weeks ago at the hands of King Kong Bundy and is looking for a fresh start if you will. Ladies and Gentleman, S.D. Jones! S.D. Jones comes out to the platform in his signature yellow trunks and Hawaiian shirt to something of a mild reception. But he doesn't let it phase him and smiles all the way until he shakes the hand of "Mean" Gene. "Mean" Gene: Now S.D., the loss to King Kong Bundy was a very decisive one, coming in just twenty seven seconds. How do you even begin to come back from something like that. S.D. Jones: Well let me tell you "Mean" Gene, it hasn't been easy, but every day I have been training my hardest and.... Jones trails off as a third man joins them on the platform. A large man wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt with curly blonde hair and and a goatee. "Mean" Gene: Now hold on just a minute, what is the meaning of this? The newcomer gets a smirk on his face and leans in to the microphone. "Come on now "Mean" Gene, you know darn well who the Doctor is, so don't go pretending like you don't." "Mean" Gene: "Dr. D" David Schultz, this interview time is schedule for S.D. Jones, just what do you think you are doing out here? David Schultz: What do I think I'm doing out here? Ha! Whatever I want Gene, and there ain't nothing you can do about it. You wanna know why? "Mean" Gene: I'm sure you're going to tell me. David Schultz: You dang right I am. It's cause your short. Your bald. Your ugly. Your dressed like a penguin, and you got that stupid look on your face all the time that makes people wanna slap you in the mouth. So you just stand there and hold the microphone before I send you crying back to your fat, ugly wife at home doing the dishes. S.D. Jones: Now hold on a second... David Schultz: Oh, you think I forgot you Boy? What's your name again? S.D. Jones: S.D. Jones David Schultz: S.D.? What's that stand for? Stupid Dipsh... S.D. Jones: SPECIAL DELIVERY! David Schultz: Calm Down Boy....don't go getting all uppity on me now or something! Special Delivery? What like you the mailman or something? Cause if I saw you on my property boy, I'd run you off with the shotgun. I'd figure you was coming to steal something, or.. S.D. Jones: You'd better watch your mouth.... David Schultz: You'd better watch my fist. Schultz blasts Jones hard in the face with a right hand. "Mean" Gene tosses the microphone into the air and runs off the stage, as Schultz pounces on top of Jones and begins to blast him with a barrage of punches. The show goes to commercial as a horde of security converges on the scene. -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back to Superstars of Wrestling, and Ladies and Gentleman, we would like to apologize for what occurred before the commercial break. The words and actions of David Schultz certainly do not represent those of the World Wrestling Federation and I understand that Mr. Schultz has been removed from the building by security. He was not scheduled to be here this evening, and one again, we apologize for his words and actions. Let's head down to the ring now for more action. _______________________________________________________________ -Match 4- The Red Scare (Nikolai Volkoff/Boris Zhukov) w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie beat Barry Horowitz/Mario Mancini in 4:53 when Zhukov pinned Mancini after a Running Headbutt. _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: OH MY!!! Tell us about it Bruno!! Bruno Sammartino: Volkoff slammed Mario down in the middle of the ring, then tagged in this Boris who came across the ring and just crashed into him with a huge headbutt. That man had a very large head Vince! Vince McMahon: HA! HA! HA! Lord Alfred Hayes: I must say that I was at first baffled by Fred Blassie's decision to split Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik as a team, but this Boris Zhukov appears to be an ideal fit for Volkoff, and the Red Scare will certainly be a force here in the ranks of the tag team division. Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentleman, don't go anywhere, we'll be right back with ANNNDREEE THE GIANT!!! -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ -Match 5- Andre the Giant defeated The Bounty Hunter in 3:04 with a Sitdown Splash During the match Grizzly Muldoon came out and stood in the aisle way. When it was over he and Andre locked eyes. The Giant motioned him towards the ring, but Muldoon could be seen mouthing the words "Not Yet" before turning around and heading to the back. _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: Oh Yeah! Andre the Giant picks up another victory!! But it looks like the behemoth Grizzly Muldoon wants a chance at The Giant! Lord Alfred Hayes: Andre invited him into the ring but it looked as if Muldoon said Not Yet. That would certainly be an interesting battle. While Muldoon doesn't match The Giant in height, he certainly makes up for it in sheer weight tipping the scales at over five hundred pounds! Vince McMahon: They would have to reinforce the ring for sure! That's it for this week Ladies and Gentleman, but be sure to join us next week when we will see Scott Casey and Johnny Mantell, The Gunslingers in action! Then from there, The Iron Sheik will in singles competition! and as unbelievable as it may sound, I've just been told that our feature contest next week will see S.D. Jones go one on one with "Dr. D" David Schultz! You won't want to miss that, right here on Superstars of Wrestling!! See you next week!!

A shot at the TV Title versus Bowing Down, oh boy, I hope Lightfoot can pull that one off! The Lawler/Adonis rematch is going to be a war, and I am looking forward to it. Slinker bringing in the Japanese to feud with American Made will surely get him some heat, but I gotta go with the home team! I like the Kirchner/Kernodle pairing. Speaking of which, I love the Regal/Donovan pairing! Fabulous Blondes may be my favorite team on the roster right now. Glad to see them rack up another win! Ayala/Colon in a taped fist match will surely be a blood bath. Now you have two Hart's running around? You'd better be careful, that's how an infestation gets started! Ron Bass is pissed, and that is going to be bad news for somebody. Really liked that interview with him, short, angry, and to the point. Very much wanna see who he takes it out on. The Grapplers/Movement feud just got real ugly, and now we are heading for a six man!! Sonny King isn't going to like that!! Wonder who The Grapplers will bring in? Bockwinkel/Kerry is such a great main event for Texas. Those fans will be nuclear. Parade of Champions is stacked!! Another awesome show this week!
  15. Regarding your last statement about not believing that 1/3rd of the people watching in the 80's believed it was real, I really think you are discounting the stupidity of white trash and rednecks here in the Good Old U.S. of A. who make up a very significant portion of the American fan base. I ring announced for local indy feds here in West Virginia (one of the poorest states in the country) from 2012 to 2017 and the amount of people who would come up and talk to me about: 1) The things happening in the WWE 2) The things that happened on our show and absolutely believed them to be at least somewhat true would astonish you. Like I've seriously had people get mad and yell at me for not running to the locker room and getting someone to come help the babyface who is getting jumped by multiple heels. and even some of the ones who seem to know that things aren't totally on the up and up thanks to the internet, still want to hold some kind of belief that it's kinda real, so I would hear shit like "Daniel Bryan could legit whip Roman Reigns in wrassling cause he practices MMA and is a better wrassler, but Vince loves Roman, so he'll fire Daniel Bryan unless he lets Roman win." So yeah, that still happens now, so 1/3 of the fanbase believing it 40 years ago.....I can totally buy that.
  16. WWF releases: Ivan Putski and Billy Robinson Will add: Plowboy Frazier and Giant Haystacks
  17. Search out his RoH feud with Homicide. Otherwise it's a lot of the same. I actually find him much more tolerable in his straight up comedy gimmick, Matt Classic.
  18. I mean, the President of the United States basically suggested the same thing, and he has a much more gullible fan following that hang on his every word like it's scripture. So I don't think PCO making a mockery of it is more likely than that to cause some jackass to inject Clorox into himself.
  19. I am not 100% set on trading either guy, but I am entertaining offers on Paul Orndorff and Big John Studd
  20. Well, it took you a single promo to get Mr. Fuji down. I could hear his devious voice perfectly in that one! and I am sure he is pleased as his Samurai Machines get a win in their first outing. Rocky Johnson/Kabuki should be a fun little feud. Ooohhhh…..a conspiracy surrounding the Tag Team Titles, and the potential of Stanley Blackburn being a Russian Sympathizer!! I Love It!! (With geniuses like Scott Hall and the Hennig's on the case, I am sure the mystery will be solved in no time!) Hey, Tommy Rich finally gets some back up in the form of Mr. Olympia and I can dig that. I sense some bloody tag team outings in the near future. Great segment with Albano/Valiant/Honky. I can just picture the outrage when Albano throws out Hogan's name and Valiant/HTM lose their shit in the ring. Another week, another A+ Buddy Landel segment. You have turned Buddy into a such a believable character that him feuding with and potentially beating guys like Flair and Piper is absolutely doable. Where to even begin with Piper's Pit! It seems like we are headed for some Piper/Hansen fireworks, then we get another amazing Nikita promo. Leave it to you to figure out how to misspell words to make them sound like a fake Russian accent, but you've nailed it. We plants some seeds for Piper to feud with the Russians, we get a Nikita/Hansen fight, and then Piper announces that the Macho Man is coming..... Holy Shit.....what a segment!!! R'n'R Express and California Connection get to follow that with a 15 minute broadway, and while I like both teams, I bet that was hard! Good Lord, Gold Rush 85 is stacked!!! I can't wait for Nikita and Hansen!! Awesome Show Man!!
  21. I just don't think we are the fans they give a damn about. I'm with you, I want more Saturday Night and Superstars and stuff like that, but I firmly believe in their minds the modern fanbase wants shit like Ride Along and The Miz Show or whatever the fuck it's called. So they pump out a ton of that crap, and then every few months we get 12 episodes of some old show to shut us up.
  22. Blehschmidt replied to spaldoni's topic in Programming
Good God, what a stacked card for Parade of Champions. Feud will be settled, titles on the line, and a battle royal for 50k. All that and Kerry on top!! USWA is about to draw huge in Texas!! Something just feels right about Tully feuding with the Armstrongs! Digging it. As always, loving the way you get the most out of everybody. The Master G's and The Patrolman are awesome!! The Donovan/Regal team is one of my favorites, and I hope they move up the card fast. Rip Oliver is having a rough time around here. Hoping to see him start kicking some ass soon. The Adonis/Lawler street fight is going to be a bloodbath, and I can't wait!! Cooley comes so close to taking yet another title!! When he finally gets his big win, you are gonna have a serious star on your hands. The feud with Rich is also heating up very nicely. Bockwinkel draws blood and the Texas fans may roast him on a fire before Parade if they get hold of him!! Kerry vs Nick is a great main event and I am really looking forward to it. Actually, if I hadn't stopped running World Class, I was building to Kevin being the guy to take the title from Bockwinkel at my own Parade of Champions on the 1st Anniversary of David's death. So you running Nick and Kerry is kind of an awesome coincidence! Great stuff as always dude!

Vince McMahon: That's right! The high flying and exciting, Jumpin' Joe Savoldi! Let's head down to ringside!! _______________________________________________________________ -Match 1- "Jumpin" Joe Savoldi beat The Spider in 5:02 with a Dropkick from the Top Rope _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: WHAT A MANEUVER!! Lord Alfred Hayes: My goodness, Savoldi sailed off of the top rope with such incredible height and caught The Spider directly in the chest with a dropkick. Such precision. What an outstanding maneuver. Vince McMahon: Jumpin' Joe making quite the impression here in the World Wrestling Federation. Speaking of making impressions, it seems that "Classy" Freddie Blassie and Nikolai Volkoff have been making some of their own in the Soviet Union! We are taken to footage of Freddie Blassie and Nikolai Volkoff both dressed in heavy winter coats. Volkoff is wearing the hat he normally wears to the ring, and Blassie is wearing one of those Canadian hats with the big ear flaps. They are trudging across knee deep snow in what looks to be Siberia (or Calgary) toward an old cabin. "Classy" Freddie Blassie: Are you sure this is the place? We've been walking around in this snow for hours!! Nikolai Volkoff: Yes Comrade Blassie, this is it. He will be here. "Classy" Freddie Blassie: He better be! If he ain't here, I am going home! The video fades to black as the two continue to trudge toward the cabin. -Commercial Break- Vince McMahon: Welcome back to Superstars of Wrestling!! We are set for action with the Scufflin' Hillbillies!! _______________________________________________________________ -Match 2- Scufflin' Hillbillies (Hillbilly Jim/Cousin Luke) over Jose Luis Rivera/Frank Williams in 4:28 when Cousin Luke pinned Williams after the Mule Kick! _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: All Right!! The Scufflin' Hilbillies pick up the win! Walk us through the replay Bruno! Bruno Sammartino: Luke sends Frankie Williams into the ropes. Then he drops down on all fours, and kicks out backwards hitting him right in the chest on the rebound. Then he covers him for the One, Two, Three. Vince McMahon: What do you think about that Bruno! Bruno Sammartino: It is certainly something. Vince McMahon: HA HA HA!!! It certainly is! Let's head now to Update with Gene Okerlund! With the latest from the World Wrestling Federation, this is Update with: "Mean" Gene: Ladies and Gentleman, we are just three weeks away from the World Wrestling Federation making it's debut on nationwide television when NBC presents Saturday Night's Main Event on May the Ninth! Today here on Superstars, I have quite the blockbuster announcement concerning that show! Last week right here on Superstars of Wrestling, we saw the return of former World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion "Superstar" Billy Graham and he made it known that he wanted a piece of the current WWF Champion Bob Backlund. On that same show we saw Bob Backlund retain the WWF Title in a hard fought war with Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. What I can tell you is this. "Superfly" Snuka is gone. He has left the World Wrestling Federation and headed for warmer climates after the damage inflicted on him by Bob Backlund. Backlund on the other hand is ready for his next challenge, and when asked about the challenge of "The Superstar" had this to say. We cut to Bob Backlund dressed impeccably in a suit and tie. The WWF Title is nicely folded and cradled in his arms. The intense look in his eyes does not match the calm exterior that we see. Bob Backlund: Ladies and Gentleman, seven days ago I stepped into the wrestling ring against a man who was attempting to usurp my position as the champion of the world. Seven days ago I battled a godless heathen who was attempting to lay claim to the glory for which I have fought heart and sould for my whole life. SEVEN DAYS AGO I ANNIHILATED JAMES SNUKA YET AGAIN BECAUSE HE DARED TO TRY AND CLAIM MY WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! Now I have been informed that mere moments after my glorious victory, another plebeian has come begging a chance at glory. But not just any run of the mill malcontent this time. No, this time it is the man whom I first defeated to become the champion. William Graham, the man who calls himself the Superstar. I defeated him to become your champion seven years ago, and for seven glorious years I have held this championship with honor, with integrity, with pride. For Seven Years I Have Been The Champion Of The World! SO WILLIAM GRAHAM, IF YOU WISH TO ATTEMPT TO RECLAIM THE CHAMPIONSHIP THAT I LIBERATED FROM YOU'RE WRETCHED, FILTHY GRASP. THEN I ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!! I WILL DESTROY YOU AS I HAVE DESTROYED THE REST!! I AM THE CHAMPION! I AM WORTHY! ME! MEEEE!!!!! Backlund is inches from the camera and seething as we cut back to Gene Okerlund. "Mean" Gene: First of all, let me set the record straight and tell everyone that Bob Backlund has not been World Wrestling Federation Champion for seven straight years. But that's not important, what is important is that we have word from the office of World Wrestling Federation President Jack Tunney and it is official a match for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship between Bob Backlund and "Superstar" Billy Graham is set for Saturday Night's Main Event. Ladies and Gentleman, I promise you, you are not going to want to miss that one. For Update, I'm Gene Okerlund. -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ -Match 3- "Superstar" Billy Graham defeated Steve Lombardi by Submission in 3:56 with a Bear Hug _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: The Superstar picks up the victory!! Lord Alfred Hayes: Going into a one on one situation with Bob Backlund, "Superstar" Billy Graham picks up some momentum with a nice victory here today. Bruno Sammartino: Billy and I were never the best of friends, but I hope he cleans Backlund's clock. Vince McMahon: Ha Ha Ha! Let's check back in on "Classy" Freddie Blassie and Nikolai Volkoff We cut back to Blassie and Volkoff just as they arrive to the cabin. They shove open the door and while Blassie animatedly gets all of the snow off of himself, Volkoff fights against the wind to close the door behind them. "Classy" Freddie Blassie: I can't believe I let you talk me into coming all the way out here! Nikolai Volkoff: Trust Me Comrade Blassie! You want new partner for Nikolai. New partner is here. Blassie throws a side eye at Volkoff and makes his way over to a fire lit in the hearth on the other side of the room. Just then a voice calls out "Who is There!" Blassie gets an odd look on his face as Nikolai smiles. "Classy" Freddie Blassie: Would you look at the size of the cranium on this guy!! Nikolai Volkoff: Comrade Boris!! Is me Nikolai!! The camera cuts as a man with a bushy black beard and a very large bald head walks into the shot. PROMOTIONAL CONSIDERATION PAID FOR BY THE FOLLOWING: "No Jacket Required" the critically acclaimed album by Phil Collins. Get it now at Sam Goody and Tower Records! -Commercial Break- We come back to an elevated platform away from the ring where we see "Mean" Gene Okerlund standing with a microphone in his hands. "Mean" Gene: Ladies and Gentleman, please join me in welcoming my very special guest this week here on Superstars of Wrestling.... Before "Mean" Gene can finish his introduction, the blonde woman who has been seen scouting talent makes her way to the podium along with "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly. She smiles at Gene, and holds out her hand for the microphone. "Mean" Gene: Ma'am, I don't know who you are, but I've seen you out here watching the matches. If you have something to say, you can talk to me. She gives Gene a smirk and a small laugh. "Gene, if it makes you feel better to be in charge, we can pretend you are for now." "Mean" Gene: Do you have a name young lady? "My name is Valerie, but all my friends call me Sunshine." "Mean" Gene: Sunshine? Sunshine: That's right darling. Sunshine. "Mean" Gene: Well Miss Sunshine, may I ask why you and Kevin Kelly are interrupting my interview? Sunshine: Well Gene, I came out here to do your job and give you an update! You see while Freddie Blassie is off traipsing around in Russia, my business partner and I went out and signed "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly to be part of our organization. "Mean" Gene: Kevin Kelly, is this true? You've left Fred Blassie and joined up with Sunshine and her mystery associate? "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly: That's right "Mean" Gene. Sometimes a deal is just too good to pass up, and what Sunshine and company had to offer was..Magnificent! "Mean" Gene: and just who is this business partner of yours Sunshine? Sunshine: Why Gene, I thought you'd never ask! He just so happens to be coming out here right now with our newest client. So Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome my business partner, the manager of champions....Jimmy Hart and our second client....Big John Studd From the back comes the bundle of energy known as Jimmy Hart wearing a white suit with a black shirt and red tie, and his signature black sunglasses. Towering beside him wearing a red robe with black trim is the nearly seven foot tall Big John Studd. The two of them head to the podium and join Sunshine and "Magnificent" Kevin Kelly. "Mean" Gene: Jimmy Hart!! You are a man with quite a reputation, but what are you doing here in the World Wrestling Federation? Jimmy Hart: "Mean" Gene baby, you want to know what I am doing here in the WWF! Well lemme tell ya! This is where things are happening Gene! This is where things are going down. So when me and Sunshine decided to put our minds together and put together a group of wrestlers to take over the world, we figured what better place to do it than the World Wrestling Federation baby!! So starting right now, when you see Jimmy Hart and Sunshine coming to the ring, you know you are about to see the best talent in the whole world baby! "Mean" Gene: Big John Studd, let me ask you... Big John reaches down and clamps one hand over the mouth of Okerlund. He clamps his other around "Mean" Gene's wrist and pulls it high enough for him to speak. Big John Studd: You don't need to ask me anything little man. All you need to know is that I'm here and that means trouble for anyone not named Hart, Sunshine, or Kelly. Now, I see another little man in that ring that's in a whole lot of trouble. So I'm gonna go take care of some business. Jimmy Hart: HAHAHAHA! You heard him "Mean" Gene! We got business to take care of! "Magnificent", there is champagne in the back, baby! We'll see you as soon as Big John is finished with his light work! HAHAHA!!! Sunshine: See ya later Gene! It was your pleasure. Studd, Hart, and Sunshine head for the ring as Kevin Kelly heads back to the dressing room. "Mean" Gene: Back to you gentleman. _______________________________________________________________ -Match 4- Big John Studd w/Jimmy Hart & Sunshine beat Ricky Ataki by submission in 2:54 with an Over the Shoulder Backbreaker _______________________________________________________________ Bruno Sammartino: My goodness, John Studd just manhandled his opponent in there tonight. Lord Alfred Hayes: While I don't know much about this Sunshine, if she is half as devious as Jimmy Hart, with two minds such as those behind an athlete the size of Big John Studd, I don't know who will be able to stop him here in the World Wrestling Federation. Vince McMahon: He is certainly a large and impressive athlete. Don't go away Ladies and Gentleman, we'll be right back with the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Champions, The British Bulldogs! -Commercial Break- _______________________________________________________________ During the match a picture in picture interview with The Fantastics played Bobby Fulton: British Bulldogs! You cheated us out of those Tag Team Titles, but at Saturday Night's Main Event we are gonna be ready to rock and roll all over your butts! Tommy Rogers: Davey Boy! Dynamite! When we leave you two boys laying in the ring and we take home that gold, there will be only one word to describe it. Fantastic! -Match 5- The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith/Dynamite Kid) w/Bobby Heenan defeated Dusty Wolfe/Brady Boone in 5:13 when Dynamite Kid pinned Wolfe after a Diving Headbutt _______________________________________________________________ Vince McMahon: Walk us through the replay Bruno! Bruno Sammartino: The Dynamite Kid shoots Wolfe into the ropes and then charges in with a clothesline that nearly rips his head off. Then he climbs to the top and drops that headbutt right into his chest. Vince McMahon: There was no getting up after that Alfred! Lord Alfred Hayes: Certainly Not. Davey Boy Smith and The Dynamite Kid are a formidable team on their own, but with Bobby Heenan guiding them, they are that much more dangerous. The Fantastics have an uphill battle ahead of them. Vince McMahon: Speaking of The Fantastics, we'll see them in action right here next week on Superstars of Wrestling! Also in action will be The Iron Sheik! Then from there we will see the return of the former Olympic strongman Ken Patera! Also in action...ANDRE THE GIANT!! That's all for this week Ladies and Gentleman. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!!
  24. Good Lord, Jack Gallagher ruined himself getting those god awful tattoo's. Killed his gimmick dead, and I'm really not sure what he could do now other than maybe MMA wannabe with terrible tattoo's.
  25. I wish they hadn't wasted Jake Atlas debuting his cartwheel DDT on an empty arena. That thing would have brought people out of their seats in front of a packed house.
