  1. Technically he is not. At one point both Edger and I had a Great Kabuki listed on our rosters, and neither of us particularly wanted to part with him. I proposed a solution where I would give up the Magic Dragon from my roster, as according to Gary Hart's book, unmasked Dragon and Kabuki looked so much alike when painted up that they were nearly identical. Thusly, they would double book The Great Kabuki in separate parts of the United States, and no one was the wiser. So we agreed that as long as the two Kabuki's never appeared in same territory, there could be two (never distinguishing which was which) up until the time of Magic Dragon's death in 1987. If we happened to make it that long, we figured we'd figure that shit out then!

As far as I know Super Dragon is still just exclusively running PWG these days.
  3. WWF will drop Salvatore Bellomo and pick up S.D. Jones
  4. Could the WWF please drop Grizzly Boone and pick up Swede Hanson
  5. The World Wrestling Federation releases the following talents to meet the roster cap: Arnold Skaaland (manager) Cobra (George Takano) Jay Strongbow John Quinn Jose Lothario (To Retire after 1985) Korstia Korchenko Pedro Morales Shunji Takano Yoshiaki Yatsu
  6. WWF sends Sherri Martel to the AWA
  7. The Ivan Koloff interview was spot on. I could hear that fake Russian accent clear as day! Great segment with Flair/Dibiase/Stevens. Loving this iteration of Dibiase. Oh good lord, I remember the football phone.....fuck, I'm old! Rich and Sawyer never fails to tear the house down, and I'm sure you'll do them justice. Why am I picturing that old commercial with the crying Native American, but instead it is just Wahoo looking pissed off!! The Masker Manager may be breaking off more than he can chew with the Dream, if you weel. Well, Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport.....Outback Jack is coming to the AWA!! I always enjoyed the Hall/Hennig team, and I am glad to see them back together here. I like the PYT's too, and the Super D's. Man, you got one hell of a tag division!!! Good Show as Always!
  8. Hey Everybody! Back in this, and looking to move a little talent around!! WWF would like to put the following on the block: Bob Roop Bruno Sammartino David Sammartino Ivan Putski Thanks Everyone!!
  9. WWF drops: Jose Gonzalez, Madusa, Athol Foley, Pat Patterson, and Johnny Rivera to Free Agency WWF picks up: Gene Ligon, Jerry Oske, Grizzly Boone, The Mongol, and Tug Taylor from Free Agency Also, I don't believe Pierre Levebre should be on the WWF roster, as I think Mid-Atlantic has him now.
  10. So, I found a book on Kindle Unlimited titled "Fritz Von Erich: Master of the Iron Claw" by a Ron Mullinax, who according to the book lived with and took care of Fritz while he was dying of brain cancer. The guy claims Fritz wanted him to write his story. Things were going along fairly smoothly (despite some misspellings) until we reached this gem...... According to this book.....Fritz apparently defeated Vern Gagna (actual book spelling) for the AWA World Title on July 31st, 1962. Then on July 7, 1963, he defeated Gagne who had recently become the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, to unify the AWA and NWA World Heavyweight Titles. (To save you the time of googling it, Fritz actually won the AWA Title on 7/27/63, and held it for 12 days, and I will assume if you post here you know that the rest of that shit never happened!!)
  11. I'll never forget watching the Heroes of World Class documentary with my wife who isn't a wrestling fan in the room. About half way through she was like "this is all too awful and depressing, I am going upstairs."
  12. Wow, wrestling Twitter really is an amazing place. Ricochet squashed in 65 seconds.... Nothing. Styles beaten by the Undertaker..... Nothing. Wyatt defeated by Goldberg..... Fucking Meltdown. The diehard WWE fanboys are an absolute different breed as they blame Goldberg for winning the title and ruining Bray Wyatt's "amazing" gimmick and rebirth. Yet somehow they fail to place any blame on the company for continuing to value nostalgia acts over the talent that is there every week, or just for generally having shitty booking for the better part of the last 15 to 20 years. Then furthermore, they are harping about it devaluing the title, which is hysterical considering that none of the belts in WWE have meant a thing since probably the late 90's. I knew these derelicts were bad, but Wow, I apparently had no idea.
  13. Fritz seems a like scummy wrestling promoter and a far worse husband and father. The stories of them selling forged David autographs after his passing. The Mike press conference. Just forcing Mike into the business when he apparently didn't want too in the first place. Letting Chris get involved at all. The fact that Kevin defends him is absolutely astonishing to me.
  14. That's awesome work @Robert S For more modern folks we know Stevie Ray of Harlem Heat. What about Scott Norton?
  15. I found listings for Abby working for the WWWF in Baltimore in January/February 1975 against Manuel Soto and Pete Sanchez and against Bobo Brazil in Buffalo in 1971. So, if we scratch him from the list, is Fritz Von Erich the biggest name to never work for the Vince's? What about Bobby Eaton or Dennis Condrey?
  16. Did Chris Adams ever work in WWF?
  17. I used to really enjoy NXT, but you are absolutely right, it seems like the commentators are constantly yelling. As much as I dislike Mauro, it's not just him either. I miss the days of Gorilla Monsoon slightly raising his voice to say "Oh He Nearly Got Him With That One" being the loudest the commentary got. It's overbearing as hell now.
  18. I think "Legacy Division" is code for: these guys are dead and not important enough to our version of history to spend any actual time on them, but we feel like we have to acknowledge them or people won't shut up about them.
  19. Oh, I know. But I rooted for her in her previous seasons, so I can't stop now. If not her, I think Ethan is my second choice. I've been watching since Season 1, and I still find myself liking the earlier winners better. I just find them more memorable. I'm starting to think we'd better start a Survivor thread!
  20. Look's like they are dropping 10 classic ECW show's on the Network tomorrow. Super Summer Sizzler '93, Ultra Clash '93, Heatwave '94, Tag Wars '94, Double Tables '95, Return of the Funker, Hostile City Showdown '95, Enter the Sandman, Barbed Wire, Hoodies, and Chokeslams, and Heatwave '95 Pretty excited for Barbed Wire, Hoodies, and Chokeslams. That show has the angle where 911 destroys "Jungle" Jim Steele with chokeslam after chokeslam as the crowd gleefully chants "Five More Times", "Four More Times" and on and on, as Paul E. dedicates each choke slam to Vince, and Bischoff, and I forget who else. I don't know if it still holds up, but I remember loving that shit in the 90's!
  21. Not that you asked me, but since I watched it instead of either wrestling show too, I thought I'd chip in #TeamParvati
  22. That'd be the only thing I can think of. This is the big all winners season, so it could have potentially drawn quite an audience.
  23. C'mon now, it sounds so much better than "Girl who was in WWE like 10 years ago"

Really fun Riho/Shoko Nakajima match to open Dark this week. Worth the time to check out. Very fun match and the crowd was into it. Unfortunately they followed it up with a Jimmy Havoc match, who may be my least favorite person on the whole roster. I feel like they could be doing something more with Sonny Kiss than jobbing to this loser. Then they teased a feud between Jimmy Havoc and Luther! I'd rather buy a pay per view of cars rusting or paint drying than watch that. Match 3 saw Hikaru Shida who may be my favorite female on the roster taking on a much bigger, much greener newcomer named Cassandra Golden. I really wish they'd stop having Shida work all of these fringe girls and get her back in the mix. This was okay, but the talent difference was glaring. Dark Order/Jurassic Express is the Main Event (No Luchasaurus) and I had to stop watching before this got started.
  25. Today's episode on Superbrawl 2 is worth a listen, but holy hell the Van Hammer story is amazing and makes it a must hear.
