Terry Funk is my favorite wrestler of all time, and I always loved it when he would do his fake nice guy commentary (my favorite was when he would pronounce Z-Man like he was saying semen, only with a Z) You captured it perfectly. Loved It. Muraco and Fuji are going to be a force here. Kinda hope they play both sides of the fence. The Funk/Cash/Bruthahood interaction was fantastic, and I look forward to seeing how it plays out. Cash taking a shot at there names was a great touch. Looking forward to The Herders adding more chaos to your already crazy tag division! Bullet/Funk interaction was fantastic, and Buddy steals the show again without even being there! Adrian Street and Lars Anderson may be the greatest "one of these things is not like the other" match up ever. Glad to see Street pick up the belt. The 'Birds seem to be in a little funk around here, but maybe Gordy getting into a nice fight with Hercules is just what the doctor ordered!

Well, I didn't figure it would take too long for Dundee and Lawler's best buddy act to fall apart once one of them got some gold!! Oh, I do love a good wrestler teaming with manager tag team match! Yes! "Ace" is back and predicting his match times! I don't know a whole lot about Art Crews, but I love this gimmick! Also liking the Roughnecks. Brooks is a guilty pleasure of mine, and Sweetan just looks like a perfect fit as a partner for him! Fabulous Ones against The Movement! I think we may have found the next champions!! That'll be a great match! Glad to see George Wells pick up the win against Fergie. I am still glad that I traded Wells to you way back when. You have gotten so much more out of him than I ever would have. Damn, Night of Champions is already looking STACKED with half a card. Great Show!

Bill Watts: Good Evening Folks, I'm Bill Watts, and this is AWA World Class Wrestling. I'm coming to you tonight from the World Class Studio, and we are going to have exclusive highlights from this past Monday's Labor Day Star Wars event, as well as an in studio interview with the World Class Heavyweight Champion. So instead of me running my jaws, let's get right to the action! 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -The Highwaymen (Phil Hickerson/Bobby Duncum) vs The Glamour Boys (Steve Doll/Steve Simpson)- Street Fight The Glamour Boys came for blood as they attacked The Highwaymen before the bell, and this one went all over the ringside area. Chairs, the guard rail, and even the time keepers table were involved. At one point Steve Simpson dove off the top rope onto the floor with a crossbody block onto both Highwaymen! The Glamour Boys came close to winning when they connected with Glitz and Glamour, the top tope dropkick/top tope splash combo they use, but it was broken up at the last possible second. The end finally came when The Highwaymen nailed Doll with a nasty spike piledriver and pinned him. Winners: The Highwaymen Bill Watts: The Highwaymen picked up the win, but The Glamour Boys proved they are a lot more than just pretty boys. I don't think we've seen the last of these two teams going at it. Let's take a quick break folks, and we'll be back with more action from Star Wars! -Commercial Break- Bill Watts: Welcome back folks, up next we are going to take a look at the match between Big John Studd and Bruiser Brody. Last weekend at the Superdome, John Studd got an unexpected surprise when David Schultz returned to World Class. Well, Dr. D apparently wasn't finished. Take a look... 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Big John Studd vs Bruiser Brody- From the moment the bell rang these two monsters just hammered one another with fists and forearms. Brody finally tired of it and rocked Studd with a big kick, but John was game and kicked Brody in the gut and dropped him with a massive slam. These two continued back and forth just beating on each other, until David Schultz hit the ring with his steel chair, and clocked Big John Studd in the head again. Studd hit the mat like a ton of bricks, and Schultz had a big grin on his face. Brody however didn't as he realized that Schultz just got him disqualified, so Brody kicked the chair hard into the face of Schultz and sent him crashing to the canvas. An angry Brody then stormed to the back. Winner, by Disqualification: Big John Studd Bill Watts: I understand that Schultz will be here next week to comment, but now not only does he have Studd and Bockwinkel to contend with, but he has also made an enemy of Big John Studd. I hope this crazy man knows what he is doing. Let's take another break, and we'll be back with Kevin Von Erich and Baron Von Raschke! -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Kevin Von Erich vs Baron Von Raschke- This was a back and forth contest from the opening bell, and it was obvious that both men had one goal in mind, The Iron Claw. Each man was executing moves that centered on one of two things, working over the head, or injuring the hand. At one point a good fifteen minutes into the match, Von Raschke managed to apply his version of The Claw on Kevin, but Von Erich was able to rotate his body in such a way that he could escape. A few minutes later, Kevin caught Von Raschke in The Iron Claw in a standing position. Von Raschke struggled his way to the ropes and pretty much threw himself out of the ring to escape the hold. Once he got to his feet, he walked out for the Count Out. Winner, by Count Out: Kevin Von Erich Bill Watts: There you see how it went down Ladies and Gentleman. Well next week, right here on this show, it is going to be a little different. Next week, inside of a Steel Cage, Kevin Von Erich will meet Baron Von Raschke again, and the only way that match can be won is with The Iron Claw. One man will either submit or be rendered unable to continue inside of the Steel Cage! Nick Bockwinkel walks onto the set, dressed impeccably in a three piece suit. He has the World Class Heavyweight Title folded up and places it on the desk in front of him. Bill Watts: Joining us now, is the AWA World Class Heavyweight Champion, Nick Bockwinkel. Welcome to the show Nick. Nick Bockwinkel: Thank You Bill. Bill Watts: Now Nick, last week the fans saw footage from the Superdome of your match with Kevin Von Erich. They saw the man defeat you and become World Class Champion, but due to a technicality, the decision was reversed and you remained champion. Your thoughts? Nick Bockwinkel: Technicality? My Thoughts? Kevin Von Erich purposefully threw me over the top rope, and the rules of the American Wrestling Association state that throwing your opponent over the top rope is an automatic disqualification. Thusly, I am still rightfully the AWA World Class Heavyweight Champion and was never defeated, because anything that occurred in the ring after the moment he committed that infraction was rendered null and void. Bill Watts: You mean when he put you in The Iron Claw and you were pinned. Nick Bockwinkel: Listen here "Cowboy!" Just because you and your ilk want to see one of your own defeat me and become the champion, just because you wish it be so, doesn't make it a reality. Kevin Von Erich cheated, and was therefore disqualified. What happened after that was a continued assault after the match was over, and I personally believe he should be fined and suspended for such a thing! But based on what I just heard before coming out here, it sounds as though my good friend Baron Von Raschke will be taking care of it next week inside of a steel cage. Bill Watts: Alright then, let's move on to Labor Day Star Wars, where you met Ricky Steamboat and were unable to defeat him. Nick Bockwinkel: Now you are just attempting to bait me Bill Watts. I may not have defeated Steamboat, but neither did he defeat me. For Sixty Minutes we went man to man, and in the end the time limit expired before either of us was able to secure victory. I take absolutely nothing away from Mr. Steamboat, he is a fine competitor and was more than worthy of stepping into the ring with me. Ricky Steamboat walks onto the set, and Bockwinkel does not look happy. Ricky Steamboat: Nick Bockwinkel, I will echo your sentiments. You are one of the best I've ever stepped into the ring against, and you pushed me to limits that I didn't know I had. But you and I both know that if there had been another minute in that match, I would be sitting there with that belt right now. So I am out here right now, asking you, man to man. Give me another shot. Nick Bockwinkel: Absolutely not. You had your chance and you failed to win the title. Ricky Steamboat: I came here seeking vengeance for my friend The Junkyard Dog, and while I still do, now I seek to show the world that as good as you are, I am the man to defeat you and claim that championship. Bockwinkel ponders the words of Steamboat for a moment, then a smile crosses his face. Nick Bockwinkel: You speak often of your friendship with Junkyard Dog, of your desire for revenge. So if you want another shot, I will give you the same terms I gave him. You can have your rematch, but if you don't beat me, you leave World Class for a year! Ricky Steamboat: Deal. Steamboat reaches his hand out to Bockwinkel, who smirks before shaking it. Bill Watts then reaches out and clamps his hands over the hands of both men. Bill Watts: Let's do it right here next week, and just to make sure it's all fair, and since we'll already have one set up, let's do it inside of a Steel Cage! Nick Bockwinkel: WHAT! No, I didn't..you can't....I.... Watts and Steamboat shake hands, as an irate Bockwinkel grabs the World Class Title and storms off the set. -Commercial Break- 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Kerry Von Erich vs The Grappler- This one was a war from the opening bell! Kerry was busted open in less than two minutes after the action spilled to the floor, and The Grappler ran him into the post. Grappler stayed on the offensive for a while, just bombarding Kerry with high impact offense and trying multiple times to get a pin fall. Grappler tossed Kerry to the floor again, and this time Von Erich had enough and he sent Grappler crashing into this post! Von Erich pounced on top of him and clawed and ripped at the mask until he tore a hole in it. Kerry then punched away until blood was streaming down the partially exposed face of The Grappler. Von Erich tossed Grappler back into the ring, and the two bloody warriors went toe to toe in the center of the ring exchanging punches and chops. When both were staggered and teetering, Von Erich spun into a Discus Punch and sent The Grappler crashing to the canvas. Kerry shook his head to clear the cob webs, and held his hand up for the Iron Claw. He dropped down and sunk it deep onto the head of The Grappler who struggled briefly, but then seemed to fade away. Referee David Manning counted One, Two, Three. Winner: Kerry Von Erich Bill Watts: It looks as though the war between Kerry Von Erich and The Grappler may finally be over. Television cameras are rolling, Jim Ross and Bill Watts are on commentary, Marc Lowrance is ready, let's head to the ring! 1) "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin/"Hollywood" John Tatum/"Gorgeous" Gary Young w/Precious vs Barry Windham/Kendall Windham/Sam Houston These six men have been fighting with each other in different combinations for a while, and tonight it came together as a wild six man brawl started the match off. Once the referee got it under control it maintained some semblance of a wrestling contest for a while, but it was obvious that tempers were ready to flare at any moment. When they did, all six men ended up fighting again, and in the chaos Jimmy Garvin was handed something from Precious. He used it to knock Kendall Windham out cold, and once the other four men were cleared out of the ring, Garvin covered Kendall for the One, Two, Three. Winners: Jimmy Garvin/John Tatum/Gary Young 2) "Dr. D" David Schultz vs Stan Stasiak Schultz hit the ring like a mad man and attacked Stasiak before the bell ever had a chance to ring. The Glamour Boys came close to winning when they connected with Glitz and Glamour, the top tope dropkick/top tope splash combo they use, but it was broken up at the last possible second. The end finally came when The Highwaymen nailed Doll with a nasty spike piledriver and pinned him. Winners: The Highwaymen INTERMISSION 5) Bruiser Brody vs Big John Studd From the moment the bell rang these two monsters just hammered one another with fists and forearms. Brody finally tired of it and rocked Studd with a big kick, but John was game and kicked Brody in the gut and dropped him with a massive slam. These two continued back and forth just beating on each other, until David Schultz hit the ring with his steel chair, and clocked Big John Studd in the head again. Studd hit the mat like a ton of bricks, and Schultz had a big grin on his face. Brody however didn't as he realized that Schultz just got him disqualified, so Brody kicked the chair hard into the face of Schultz and sent him crashing to the canvas. An angry Brody then stormed to the back. Winner, by Disqualification: Big John Studd 6) Brian Adias/Jay Youngblood/Mark Youngblood vs Iceman King Parson/Shaska Whatley/Tiger Conway Jr This one stayed surprisingly for the most part a straight up wrestling match for the longest time. Both teams made frequent tags, and neither seemed to have a clear cut advantage until finally Conway resorted to cheating and caught Mark Youngblood with a low blow. After that The Movement worked Youngblood over viciously in their corner and kept the advantage for some time. Finally Mark made the hot tag to his brother and the tide turned. The end came when Adias and Parson were fighting on the floor, and Jay had just tumbled out of the ring with Conway. Whatley was the legal man, and hadn't seen Jay make the blind tag to his brother. Mark had quickly scaled the turnbuckles and executed a picture perfect Flying Crossbody Block onto Whatley for the One, Two, Three! Winners: Brian Adias & The Youngbloods 7) Kerry Von Erich vs The Grappler This one was a war from the opening bell! Kerry was busted open in less than two minutes after the action spilled to the floor, and The Grappler ran him into the post. Grappler stayed on the offensive for a while, just bombarding Kerry with high impact offense and trying multiple times to get a pin fall. Grappler tossed Kerry to the floor again, and this time Von Erich had enough and he sent Grappler crashing into this post! Von Erich pounced on top of him and clawed and ripped at the mask until he tore a hole in it. Kerry then punched away until blood was streaming down the partially exposed face of The Grappler. Von Erich tossed Grappler back into the ring, and the two bloody warriors went toe to toe in the center of the ring exchanging punches and chops. When both were staggered and teetering, Von Erich spun into a Discus Punch and sent The Grappler crashing to the canvas. Kerry shook his head to clear the cob webs, and held his hand up for the Iron Claw. He dropped down and sunk it deep onto the head of The Grappler who struggled briefly, but then seemed to fade away. Referee David Manning counted One, Two, Three. Winner: Kerry Von Erich 8) Nick Bockwinkel vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat - AWA World Class Heavyweight Title These two came out and put on an absolute masterpiece of professional wrestling. For every hold a counter hold, for every strike a counter strike. Steamboat used all of his martial arts repertoire to try and confound the technical wrestler, but Bockwinkel was able to overcome. Bockwinkel used every hold, every counter to try and get one over on Steamboat, but The Dragon proved to be a student of the game. On and on they went, back and forth, back and forth. One Counts, Two Counts, counts so close that the fans came out of their seats thinking that a new champion had just been crowned. Bockwinkel caught Steamboat with the Piledriver, but Ricky got his feet on the ropes. Steamboat executed a picture perfect Flying Crossbody, but Bockwinkel lifted the shoulder at the last possible second. Bockwinkel went for the Figure Four, but Steamboat cradled him! One, Two....and the bell rang, signalling the match had gone the full 60 minutes and the time limit had expired. Winner: DRAW

An action packed card from start to finish!! Jerry Grey and The Enforcers with some nice heel cheating to pick up a pair of victories in the beginning. Shaw survives a war and takes down "Animal" Steele, but the real story is Jumbo feeling disrespected and taking out both men, including what I am guessing is the end of Steele in TNT! My boy DJ Peterson picks up a huge win against Killer Brooks! Love It!! Fergie gets a bullshit victory over Wells, but Wells gets a little payback. Dibiase/Blanchard delivers with a beautiful fake out, and Tully snapping on Hennig. The fall out from this should be beautiful!! Glad to see Tito and The Fabs pick up the win! Idol with a big title defense against the Russian invader. Ayala gets the duke over Sweetan, but the aftermath with Brooks and Sweetan holds a potential new tag team combination that would be a lot of fun. The Jayhawks and Adonic/Murdoch fight to a Double DQ? As long as this is far from over, I am very good with that!! The reign of The Funker is over!!! BOOOO!!!!! Lawler gets the win, after some clever help from Dundee. Terry ain't gonna take this shit laying down. I foresee Dundee wanting a title shot for his service as well!! Awesome Card Dude!

Cooley just embarrassed Scott Casey right out of the territory!! Bundy will make a fine member of Devastation Inc! Looking forward to Bundy vs Gang. The Bruthahood are making waves and doing it fast. Poor Johnny Rich is gonna be laid up for quite a while. Speaking of laid up, if Gordy takes too much more damage to the neck, he is gonna be in trouble. But The Birds and the Stud Stable feud is awesome! The Bullet is going to be so much fun, as everyone tries to prove his identity. Good Shit as always Gene!

Still not buying Doc and Bull on the same page! Poor Bobby Heenan. Interested to see if Curt is leaving, or if this is a turn. I was very skeptical of doing the Slaughter turn in '84, but you are making it work! Russians vs Bad News and Hansen in a Loser Leaves Town match!!! Shit just got real!! Stu screws The Bulldogs. Old Man Hart is becoming a problem. Flair and Dibiase for 45, yeah, I'd watch that!!

Only about half way done with the show, but I have to say I am excited to see more of Hikaru Shida. I know they are All In on Riho, but her tiny girl who gets fluke roll ups gimmick seems like it will lose re-watchability fairly quickly. My first time seeing Shida, and I was very impressed with her stuff.

Wardlow is from IWC in Pittsburgh, same place Britt Baker came out of. I think that's his actual last name.

I really liked Walter/Bate too. Felt more like they were trying to tell a "This kid has too much fucking heart to lose" story than trying to have an epic on purpose.

The "unscheduled" Cesaro/Ilja Dragunov match from the UK Takeover that is currently happening was a whole lot of fun. Worth your time IMO.
