Dr. D wants his money, but it looks like he hasn't quite finished the job. Strong words from Bob, and I have to think Schultz will be there to fight. Did Landell just call Dr. D a clown? That probably wasn't his best idea.. Anyway, loving Landell as the cockiest motherfucker in the room. Special Olympia got a chuckle out of me. Gordy coming out and ruining Buddy's day was awesome, and would have got a great pop from the crowd. The Cooley/Casey team is a good one, and one the young ladies would be in too. Another nice win for the Black Ninja, and Brad better be careful. Holy Shit, the Fiesta Garden was awesome! Perfect writing on everyone. Seriously, this segment was amazing. Olympia with the DDT is a good little continuance of what he's been through. Cool choice and the show closing schmoz with the whole company brawling in the arena is a classic! Great choice! Another fantastic episode of Continental. Looking forward to the big show in Dothan!

Maybe they don't care about getting the lapsed fans or the casual fans. Maybe they want to attempt to make new fans, and if that's the case, in my experience, kids today seem to like weird, quirky shit. Maybe that Librarian thing that we don't get is something that my 15 year old nephew would find fucking hilarious. Maybe Nakazawa's baby oil shtick is something that would resonate with 20 year old hipsters. Maybe Sonny Kiss and the ass based offense would get over huge with teenage girls. Maybe Orange Cassidy's don't give a fuck charisma is to this generation what Raven's was to disgruntled kids of the 90's I'm not claiming any of this is truth, I don't fucking know. I'm almost 41 and binge watching World Class on a weekly basis. I hardly feel like my opinions on what makes a good wrestling show are relevant these days, because what I see now is nothing like what I grew up watching, and I think that is probably the same for most everyone on this board. I'm just trying to look at it from a different perspective. I find it hard to judge anything after only 3 shows, and I hardly think losing viewers on a YouTube pre-show means shit. Most likely those people never intended to buy anything in the first place. Plus, you can't begin to calculate the amount of people who are pirating the shows after the fact. Until the television show debuts, I don't think anything can be truly valued based on numbers. I liked what I've seen so far, certainly more than the product WWE is currently putting out. Virtually every wrestling company ever has had some stupid gimmick on the show. I don't think having the Librarian on the pre-show is the death knell for the company. It's gotta be better than multiple Shane McMahon appearances every week.

-Broadcasting live to our local affiliates in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri, as well as in Syndication across these great United States, the American Wrestling Association proudly presents World Class Wrestling, coming to you this week from the Sportatorium in Dallas!- The camera fades in too Marc Lowrance who is standing by the ring in an empty Sportatorium. Marc Lowrance: Good Evening Ladies and Gentleman, I am Marc Lowrance, welcoming you to a special edition of AWA World Class Wrestling. Tonight we are going to bring you some of the exciting action from the Star Wars special that took place eight days ago on the Fourth of July. Tonight we are going to see the Television Championship showdown between Hercules Hernandez and DJ Peterson, as well as the Semifinal and Final of the tournament for the Central States Title. We will also talk to the Television Champion live here at the Sportatorium! So let's get right to it! Taped 7-4 in St. Louis 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Kevin Von Erich vs "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious- Garvin attempted his stalling techniques with another Von Erich but Kevin wasn't falling for it. Once the bell rang and they locked up, Kevin wasted no time whipping Garvin into the corner and nailing him with punches which had the crowd counting along. He then caught him with a huge arm drag out of the corner, and blasted him with a huge dropkick when he got up. Garvin went to the floor to attempt to buy time, but Kevin followed him out and chased him around the ring. Garvin got back in first and cut Kevin off, and was able to maintain control for several minutes. But Kevin wasn't having it, and came roaring back again. The end to this back and forth nearly twenty minute encounter came when the referee was knocked down as Kevin scooped Garvin up for a bodyslam and Jimmy's boot caught Alfred Neely in the side of the head. Kevin completed the slam, and then locked the Iron Claw on the fallen Garvin. With the ref down, and Garvin in trouble, Precious climbed onto the ring apron with her purse and started to enter the ring. She was standing above Kevin just about to bash him in the head with it, when Eddie Hogan hit the ring and grabbed it out of her hands stopping her. Hearing the commotion behind him, Kevin let go of the Claw, and stood to see Hogan staring at Precious as she plead her innocence. Hogan was shaking his head and having none of it, and Von Erich turned to her and held his hand up signalling he was going to put her in the Iron Claw! The crowd in St. Louis let out a cheer at the thought of it, but it immediately turned to boo's as Eddie Hogan cracked Kevin Von Erich across the head with the obviously loaded purse. Von Erich hit the mat, out like a light. Hogan rolled Von Erich over and pulled Jimmy Garvin on top of him, while Precious shook the referee awake. Both of them exited the scene of the crime, as Neely groggily counted the One, Two, Three. Winner: Jimmy Garvin -Commercial Break- Marc Lowrance: So as you just saw folks, Jimmy Garvin with an underhanded victory thanks to the man we are now calling Brutus Beefcake moved on to the finals. Let's watch the other semi-final and see who his opponent would be. Taped 7-4 in St. Louis 1 Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit -Barry Windham vs The Grappler- A fairly even contest in the opening minutes that saw both men attempting to gain an advantage using technical wrestling. Grappler had the strength advantage and used it to take Barry down with a hammerlock and grind on him, but Windham was able to make his way out of it and begin to use his height advantage to get leverage on Grappler and take him down repeatedly. The two went back and forth this way for a while, until Grappler ended the technical exchanges by going for a big Lariat. Windham managed to duck it and caught Grappler with a big dropkick on the rebound. The two would continue to go back and forth for another ten minutes, before Windham went for a leaping Lariat, but Grappler ducked out of the way, and Windham accidentally collided with referee David Manning, who was knocked to the floor. Grappler grabbed Windham and yanked him to his feet, but Windham quickly cradled him into a small package. With no referee to count, Windham released the hold. Both men got to their feet and exchanged punches, Windham got the best of it and sent The Grappler into the ropes. Windham bounced off the ropes as well, and when the men met in the center of the ring, each tried a clothesline and both of them went down. The reaction of the crowd turned to boo's as The Grappler began to kick the toe of his infamous boot onto the canvas, loading it up. Both Windham and Grappler began to get to their feet, and on the floor David Manning was starting to crawl back onto the apron. Grappler made it to his feet first, and charged at Windham while Barry was still in a kneeling position and attempted to kick him with the Loaded Boot, but Windham was fast and reared back so that Grappler missed him and his momentum carried him past. Windham grabbed him from behind and rolled him up, just as Manning got fully back into the ring. One, Two, Three! Winner: Barry Windham As Manning was raising the hand of Windham, and irate Grappler clubbed Barry in the back of the head knocking him to the canvas, then kicked him in the head with the Loaded Boot. Windham collapsed to the canvas grasping his face, and before long blood began to pour out from between his fingers. Manning called for help, as The Grappler left the ring nodding his head. -Commercial Break- Marc Lowrance: So, the finals of the Central States Title Tournament will be Barry Windham taking on Jimmy Garvin. Before we get to that match, let's check out the TV Title battle. Taped 7-4 in St. Louis 1 Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit -Hercules Hernandez w/Percival Pringle III vs DJ Peterson - AWA World Class Television Title These two started off with a shoving match that turned into a slug fest in the middle of the ring. Then the "no you run the ropes and hit me with a shoulderblock" to see who could move the other the furthest game began. That seemed to be going in the favor of Hercules until Peterson leapfrogged him and blasted him with a dropkick! The crowd loved it, Herc and Percy not so much. Hernandez went after Peterson with a ferocity after that, clubbing him down with forearms, catching him with a nasty clothesline, and drilling him into the mat with several big slams. Peterson wouldn't stay down for any pinfall attempts, and Hercules then attempted to lift him up for the Backbreaker, but Peterson slid out the back and fired away at Hercules with lefts and rights. DJ had the champ staggered and whipped him into the ropes, where he caught him with a huge powerslam. Peterson then ascended the turnbuckles, and when Hercules got to his feet, launched himself off with the Second Rope Shoulderblock and caught Hercules square. Peterson covered and Referee Rick Hazzard counted One, Two, Three. Winner, and NEW AWA World Class Television Champion: DJ Peterson! Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, please welcome the new AWA World Class Television Champion, DJ Peterson! DJ walks onto the screen wearing a Golds Gym shirt and blue jeans, the AWA World Class Television Title on his shoulder. DJ Peterson: Thank you for having me out here tonight Marc. I just want to say what an honor it is to represent World Class as the Television champion, and I want everyone to know that unlike Hercules, I will defend this title against anyone, anywhere, at any time. Marc Lowrance: How did it feel to get that big win? DJ Peterson: It was unbelievable Marc. I kept telling everybody that if Hercules would give me one more shot that I could beat him. Then he just kept ducking me and ducking me. When Bill Watts said that I was getting the shot, I knew I had to make it count, so I came out there and gave a hundred and ten percent, and now I'm the champion. Marc Lowrance: Ladies and Gentleman, DJ Peterson! -Commercial Break- Taped 7-4 in St. Louis 1 Fall, 60 Minute Time Limit -Barry Windham vs "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious- Barry Windham came to the ring with his head bandaged up and looked far worse for wear than his opponent, after two grueling matches and the loaded boot attack, compared to Garvin's one grueling match which he had help winning. His odds got a little better when Bill Watts marched to ringside and sent Precious to the back, and threatened to fire anyone who interfered in this match. Needless to say that Jimmy Garvin wasn't happy about it, and he Pearl Harbored Windham before the bell rang to let Watts and everyone else know. Garvin went right to work on the head, tearing the bandages away, and then stomping the area repeatedly until the blood was flowing again. Garvin then whipped Barry into the turnbuckle and went for the big ten punch count along, but when he got to six, Barry grabbed his legs, charged forward and gave Garvin a reverse atomic drop that Jimmy was not prepared for. As Garvin was tip toeing around the ring, waving his arms in the air, Windham blasted him with a right hand, and another. Then Windham scooped him up and gave him a proper atomic drop, the momentum of this one sent Garvin sailing over the top rope and too the floor! Barry wiped the blood from his face and followed Garvin to the floor. Windham was attempting to pull Garvin up by the hair, but Jimmy hooked the front of his tights and leveraged him into the ringpost. Garvin got to his feet with a smirk and pulled Barry off the floor, smashed his face into the apron, and then tossed him back into the ring. Garvin immediately went for a cover, but Windham kicked out at two. Garvin pulled the bloody Windham back to his feet, gave him a big bodyslam, then dropped an elbow on him. Garvin covered again, and again only got two. Garvin dropped a knee onto the face of Windham, then sat him up and applied a rear chinlock. Garvin was taunting Windham, and telling him to quit, but Referee Alfred Neely indicated that Windham was not submitting. Garvin pulled Barry to his feet and sent him into the ropes, and gave him a big back body drop. Garvin cockily covered Barry, and again Windham kicked out at two. Garvin yelled out "alright, that's it!" and yanked Windham to his feet and then hooked him, and hoisted him up for the Brainbuster. Garvin drove Windham hard into the mat and Neely counted the One, Two, Thre..foot on the ropes. Garvin banged the mat in frustration, and then questioned the referee's count. He grabbed the blood stained hair of Windham and jerked him to his feet, Garvin whipped him into the ropes again, and Windham nailed him with the Lariat!! Both men were down, and Neely began his ten count. Garvin actually got to his feet first at 7, and went after Windham, again grabbing two handfuls of hair and pulling him to his feet. Barry was apparently playing a bit of possum, as he rolled Garvin into a small package and Neely counted the One, Two, Three! Winner, and NEW AWA Central States Champion: Barry Windham! Marc Lowrance: There you saw it folks, Barry Windham overcomes the odds and becomes the Central States Champion. We were hoping to have Barry with us tonight, but he is out defending that title already and couldn't join us. I am pretty certain that Super Black Ninja isn't Ron Slinker now! Massive win and a shock title change!! Madril gets a big win over Street thanks to Hercules coming for Linda! Street comes after Herc in the following match, then a kidnapped Linda (or maybe Herc is into BDSM) comes running down the aisle, and all is well! Is Olympia gonna start using the DDT full time? If so, he just became a lot more dangerous! Killer 6 man in the main event, and the Birds pick up another big win. They are rolling here in 'bama

Buzz Sawyer double crossed his own brother for 2500 bucks!!! That absolutely makes sense!! Good to see Lanny and Angelo have patched things up. Looks like the evil German contingent are all done. Young Shawn Michaels gets a nice win against Roger Kirby. I still don't see shit in that kid, but it was a good win. High Flyers with a nice win over Sheik and Koloff (so hard not to type Volkoff!!) but the foreigners get their heat back to end the night! Good little show!

I had no idea who they are, but they totally work! You are right though, other than goofy old Boyd Pearce from Mid-South, pretty much everyone is taken at this point. I suppose Bill Mercer from World Class, but 1) He was terrible, and 2) Realistically he probably wouldn't leave his Evening News job in Dallas!

Masked Superstar makes short work of some young punk in the opener, nice win for the masked man! Double A and Brett Sawyer have a nice little go round, but in the end Arn picks up the win. Looking forward to seeing what the Andersons do under the new regime. Sheik and Koloff pick up a nice win and stop the momentum of Pez and Norvell. Koloff and Sheik is a very dangerous team, and whoever leaves with the tag belts had best be wary of them. and finally the inexplicable David Sammartino push is over!! Go Lanny!! Very interesting contest between Duggan and Ole. Hacksaw manages to get one over on the Andersons, then immediately pays for it, only to be saved by Terry Taylor. This sets up what should be an awesome feud, and just gave the tag team division one hell of a boost. Brody and Hansen brawl to a wild no contest.... that seems unlikely! The Fantastics finally picked up their long coming win over the Long Riders in an awesome match. But man do they have a lot of challengers waiting in the wings. Reed regains the title, after Parsons proves that everything was accident. Buzz Sawyer is going to be an angry man, and the follow up to all of this should be fun. Race and Rich put on a classic as expected until Masked Superstar shows up and costs Tommy the match, but Harley Race being the champion in Georgia is things as they are supposed to be! Didn't expect The Sheiks to show up and cost Hogan the title, but it's a good way to get the title on Dibiase, put some doubt on everything, and give the Hulkster some people to fight next time he is in town! Fantastic show all around, and no worries on being a couple days late. Picking up the pieces of someone else's story lines, and sorting all this shit out can't be easy. Awesome job!

I like it! I have to say that when I saw announcers named Cowboy Bob and Lawman Don, I was skeptical!! But, I like it!! Dibiase opening the show by immediately slandering everything about the promotion is perfect, and a great way to make everyone hate him. A nice win for Mike Von Erich in the opener, and Mulligan mentoring him is a cool touch. Bass and Embry make a great team, and that comment about losing Von Erich's is going to piss some people off!! (If Kevin and Kerry need to visit, give me a call!) Hillbilly Jim is a perfect fit for this company, and a nice feud with Leduc will help to make the fans love him even more. Uggh Strongbow..... Chaos reigns in Continental! Hercules has shown up and is immediately causing trouble, and picks up a big (but tainted) win over Jimmy Golden Madril continues to be the best thing ever as he comes out to continue his issue with Street. David Schultz is The Grappler? There is so much about my roster I didn't know! Either way, he did the damage on Bullet Bob and cost him the tournament, but was it enough for him to get paid? Oh man, Buddy Landell vs Mr. Olympia for the Continental Heavyweight Title is gonna be good. But with Hercules and The Nightmare lurking, Olympia has a tough road in front of him.

Great first episode! Really looking forward to Rich vs Race, a classic encounter with the title on the line. Reed vs Sawyer is gonna be really interesting, as Iceman could go either way at this point. The Andersons in singles matches is all well and good, but whoever comes out with the Tag Titles had better watch out. Bassarab and Thornton could definitely be a sleeper team in the tag division, and you've got Pez and Austin too. Anderson's aren't going to be the only contenders waiting in the wings. The Lariat and Tojo have a nice little throw down, but the real money comes in Hansen vs Brody for the TV Title! Sign me up!!! Like I said, great first episode. Looking forward to the show in the Omni!

Good to see a familiar voice in David Crockett calling the action. Macho Man and Liz reunite in the most violent way possible! Poor Link!! Fantastics coming for the titles should be good stuff.
