George Scott passes away
I think Scott was fed up of so many wrestler no showing cards due to being in no condition to get to the arena. It was a major headache at the time.

WWE Hall of Fame 2014
No. I kind of feel like inducting Ali would be in poor taste considering that the HOF contains Antonio Inoki, the guy largely responsible for Ali being in the condition he's in. I've never heard this talking point? I mean the years of boxing had no effect. It was Antinio Inoki's leg kicks were the cause. I think the logic would be if Ali hadn't got his legs kicked to hell, then he wouldn't have taken so much punishment in his later fights due to being slower and less spry on his feet.

Dave Meltzer stuff
On something like an injury to a major star, I agree that Dave would usually get official confirmation from a source in the office, unless they want to keep it quiet. But a more gossipy tidbit, it may be from a single source who got it second hand.

Ric Flair (sigh)
I'm sure he has other creditors in Charlotte wanting money off him.

Ric Flair (sigh)
Bruce Mitchell on his Torch radio show implied that he refuses to pay ex-wife number 4 out of principle because he thinks she's crazy and she screwed him over financially by her physical attacks being reported on by the local media and TMZ, not because he can't afford to pay.

Hulk Hogan Doesn't Hate Ultimate Warrior Anymore Looks like Hogan would take the spot.

Dave Meltzer stuff
The old Dave = the new Wade Keller (on one of the few occasions he breaks news today)? I do think that part of the reason coverage has changed is that the reporters don't go to the matches as much anymore, so they aren't around the wrestlers as much as they used to be. Also, today's generation seem much more scared to speak out for fear it would jeopardize their jobs than the old generation were.

WWE Network finally happening
I was just trying to figure this out... you have to subtract the losses from monthly PPV being free. Since we are looking at domestic numbers only for the 1st year, what is the money generated from Mania until the July PPV for WWE? PPV revenue in the second quarter of 2013 was $37.1 million. PPV revenue from Money In The Bank and SummerSlam was $9.6 million. So in over the same period in 2013 they grossed $46.7 million in PPV revenue. Is that domestic or worldwide? Worldwide.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
She and Vince got Trip over after he initially bombed at the top of the cards (to the point that they took the belt off him in a panic in favor of Show), then she & Mick carried Trip in the Trip vs Foley feud, and then she carried Trip in the Trip vs Rock feud. Then she kept Trip over because she was banging him. Trip is a HOFer because of her. John In a carny business, surely using your feminine wiles to get control of the company over your older brother, who had been groomed for the position since birth, deserves some credit.
