Yeah, I loved this quote:

Bret's stuck in Europe too.- WWE's coming fall
I'd imagine Spike TV would take Raw back and kick TNA to the curb in a heartbeat, if USA ever lost interest in having WWE programming.- The New Japan 175
Maybe the wrong guys are getting protected? I think John Cena has lost some of his lustre by doing too many jobs since his comeback from the pec tear. It's also worthy noting that plenty of people bitched about how protected Inoki was in the 80s at the time too.- LOL Strike Force
Is this a case of live by the pro wrestling sword, die by the pro wrestling sword?- The interesting Dave Meltzer posts thread
Dave Meltzer on Cornette's email to Terry Taylor: The bolded part probably deserves to be in the ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists thread. Dave also doesn't seem to get part of the reason why he doesn't get legal letters anymore - everyone's accepted that he's part of the business and he isn't going to go away. Why waste your time and money sending legal letters to him?- Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
Not everyone in the locker room is a progressive enough guy to not describe two guys kissing as "very lewd". Anyway, they were making out not kissing. Big distinction there. Another question comes to mind - doesn't Eric Bischoff love worked shoots? Go on kiss in front of the boys, like Chris and Nancy did!- Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
A ton more questions for people to ponder: Was it anymore lewd than what TNA wanted to show or have shown on Impact? What would the wife of this TV executive think if she actually watched the show? Remember the Goldust angle. Didn't Dustin Runnels get tons of heat in the locker room for the lengths he was willing to go to get over in his gay gimmick? Didn't Scott Hall get upset over working a long program with him? Haven't people within the locker room tried to sabotage the angle from the get go? Does the fact that the angle had heat like the Goldust angle had, mean that the participants had heat too like Dustin Runnels did? Whatever the answers to these questions the conclusion is obvious - gay pro wrestlers are accepted. The story is a complete mess and has already mutated from the one given on the board to the one given in the newsletter. So did the story about the first aborted bisexual angle:- Things we can probably get confirmed now
Didn't it come out that Gangrel was rehired by WWE because he was burnt in his entrance, like The Undertaker was at No Way Out, and made a fuss about it? I thought it was Hunter who got Godwinn his job back. Wasn't he in pretty bad shape and let go quickly? Flash Funk seemed like the sort of guy who was rehired without Vince knowing about it.- Comments that don't warrant a thread
Sorry Bix, but I have to disagree. He fucked up by the first sentence of the third paragraph. He fucked up by even sending an email to Terry Taylor with such bile. He should know by now how the wrestling business works. Terry Taylor is friends with Vince Russo and I believe was one of the people who went to bat for him to help him get his script writing job back. That this email would be passed around and used to disparage Cornette as being legitimately crazy was inevitable. Moreover, it's also inevitably going to be used to disparage any sane vocal critics of Vince Russo and TNA Wrestling's current direction, like Dave Meltzer, Bryan Alvarez, Wade Keller and Bruce Mitchell. This is only going to add to Vince Russo's persecution complex and Dixie Carter's belief that everyone is unfairly out to get him. If he really wants Vince Russo to lose his job for the good of the wrestling business, then he went about it in the worst way possible. Thanks a lot, Corny!- Comments that don't warrant a thread
Yeah, they lost me on the checking computers stuff.- Comments that don't warrant a thread

I think it was his mother, hence my earlier comment. This really isn't a decision Todd should be bashed over.- Comments that don't warrant a thread
The quote by Dave Howe, President of Syfy, explains the motivation behind the decision.- Comments that don't warrant a thread
I was speaking more about the puzzled attitude about keeping the show on Thursdays. Regarding the name change, that's a good point I'd forgotten about. That said, I always got the perception that network executives within Syfy weren't keen on professional wrestling being on their station and it was a decision foisted on them by Bonnie Hammer. Thus, why I'm not surprised they would balk at too much wrestling being on their station.- Matt Hardy is not a Main Eventer
Yeah, that's part of the reason why I asked the question earlier "If the Internet was around 20 years ago, would we be saying the same thing about Bret Hart"? Matt's appeal as a babyface is similar to Bret's in the late '80s, in the sense that he has a much stronger affinity and resonance with the fans than his push would warrant, and he doesn't fit the mold of the type of guy Vince would normally push. He's certainly someone WWE could have done more with, and probably would have done if he could only keep his mouth shut.- Comments that don't warrant a thread
Regarding Anderson Silva, there's something funny about people advocating that his next fight should be relegated to prelims or free TV, when if it was a wrestling promoter doing that they'd complain that it devalues the title or was sabotaging the performer.- Comments that don't warrant a thread
No surprise Syfy axed NXT. It's a science fiction network, thus I'm not surprised that they don't want two wrestling shows on their channel, especially when NXT is currently only drawing so so ratings for the network. That's probably also why Smackdown is set to continue to be buried on Friday nights, a poor night for drawing TV ratings, and not moved to Thursdays, the best night for drawing TV ratings. Their flagship science fiction shows would be saved for Thursdays. I'm surprised this point missed Dave and Bryan on their radio show, even Bix on Cageside Seats , as it seemed a pretty obvious one.- Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
To be fair, Todd may have good personal reasons for not wanting to review Raw any longer. That said, complaining about a "juvenile" angle when WWE's target audience is kids is still pretty silly.- The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
I agree that it was a thankless job and there's probably better things to criticize him over, but JR comes across as way more grouchy in his response about being bad mouthed in shoot interviews than JJ Dillon ever did in his book and they had the same job. I think Sean's right here. Vince is a workaholic who has no life outside the business. Anyone who can't commit their whole lives to his company is being disloyal.- The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
I don't disagree, but it's a bit rich coming from Ross, since he did a shoot interview with Wade Keller in the past.- The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
That's what I thought he was saying, actually. I don't know, to me it's pretty silly for the former WWE head of talent relations to insinuate that he didn't expect Shawn to become an all time great in 1996, because he thought he might die before he became one.- The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
JR on Shawn Michaels: Is JR saying what I think he's saying? Now this is pretty grouchy, hateful and hypocritical: - Comments that don't warrant a thread
