Global on ESPN
From http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-sto...wwe-main-event- On 8/5, ESPN Classic is going to be airing a Global Wrestling (Texas promotion from the early 90s) marathon. They are going to start airing old Global shows regularly on the station (thanks to Bill Strong). Fuck yeah...

Crowdsourcing: Ric Flair drinking/spending stories
OK then.... When WCW was in State College in 1999, Flair bought out the local hotel bar that some of my fraternity brothers had gone up to after Thunder..they said he was ruling the roost in that place..

Would Steve Austin be looked at like HHH with longer time?
There's a difference between a certain amount of people getting tired of one guy being on top forever, and a guy being specifically hated for politicking and keeping himself on top forever. Almost anyone who's been on top for a long time had that audience fatigue to some extent. That wasn't what you were asking though. I guess I worded it wrong at first...as that was what I actually meant...would Austin have a ton of negative thoughts ala HHH if he was on top as long and still worked at WWE.

Would Steve Austin be looked at like HHH with longer time?
Cool...makes sense in what you say...but I still get the feeling that if he was on top for that long, some sort of hatred would start as just seems to happen when someone is on top for a long time....

Would Steve Austin be looked at like HHH with longer time?
I was just using those as quick examples of things people could use if years and years of him being on top and doing things like that in the same manner of HHH.....not as "here, look, he did it examples..."

Would Steve Austin be looked at like HHH with longer time?
If Steve Austin would have lasted longer in the WWF/E Main Event scene (he did 98-99 then Late 2000 - early 2002) do you think he'd get the Backlash HHH gets for not putting people over or not being helpful to other wrestlers, holding people back, or not? Austin left WWE supposedly cause he didn't want to put Brock over, on TV, but I don't know if a PPV idea was ever tossed. He wouldn't work with Jarrett and didn't want to face HHH at Summerlsam '99 one on one…I don't know about others…but you see the idea…HHH being there in Main Event from 99-10 outside a couple injury years gave him a MUCH bigger time to be hated… Just something I've always wondered.

To make this easier...let me see about setting up a quick FTP Server so I can get these to you all.. Dropbox was an idea...but I dont know how many clients can connect at once and I also worry about the DropBox getting out in the wild... More to follow..unless someone else has a better idea?

Sgt. Slaughter
Oh shit, that's right...his Mid-Atlantic run slipped my mind when I posted earlier... That team with Kernodle was awesome and he was again a great, believable heel. You bought that his cobra clutch was unbreakable...he was even better when Steamer and Youngblood broke Jim Nelson's and he comes on TV saying - "You cant break MY Cobra Clutch...."

Puerto Rico Wrestling
Is it on tape?

Sgt. Slaughter
1990 / 1991 Slaughter was MONEY on the mic....you fully believed he was down with Iraq and Saddam...and the Rumble '91 match is memorable not for the work, but for the whole angle.. Burning that Hulk shirt and his total demeanor was phenominal and just what he needed to be... The Mania VII match and the matches afterward that summer were really good (even though Summerslam 91 should have been the Desert Storm Blow Off Match) Slaughter in the AWA was good to in his matches with Hansen in 1986 and his war agains the Sheik in 1985...

[1994-06-11-WCW-Saturday Night] Hulk Hogan parade and press conference
The END of a DIFFERENT wrestling company and the beginning of a carbon copy of up North.....I remember not even caring as I thought Hogan was done and this wouldnt help WCW at all... Was I wrong? Yes.....sort of...... Another thing I find funny about Hogan is one of the ONLY times (that I know of) where he actually did what he didnt want to do (turn heel) completely changed his career for the better...you;d have thought he take more stuff into consideration after that....

[1994-08-24-WCW-Clash of the Champions XXVIII] Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan
How about a tag where Flair pins Hogan in the match, leading to the Havoc Main Event? I would have made this non-title due to teh injury and had Flair win clean.....god forbid there is ANY doubt about who may win at Havoc.....We gotta get Flair out of the way so my boy Bruti can feud with me for the biggest show of the year.....MONEY MONEY MONEY brother....
