Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists
To be fair to Ariel, he also cited Kurt Angle walking into walls backstage because he was so messed up on pills as another reason why he fell out of love with the wrestling business. Was he saying he witnessed this personally somewhere or talking about Lesnar's eureka moment?

Linda McMahon for Senate catch-all thread
Dave Meltzer swears that he's talking to relatively high ranking members of the Democratic party who were infuriated by it and thought it was possible given how close Florida was.

Linda McMahon for Senate catch-all thread
If I had a shot at being the first Jewish Vice President of the United States and my then-party thought that an entertainment company might have blown the close election for me by telling its TV viewers the night before the election that I was out to destroy said company's product, I wouldn't endorse the company's ex-CEO in a senate race. But Lieberman's kinda insane.

Clinton, Obama, and McCain sent video clips, and then WWE ran a "Hillary" (w/ "Bill") vs ""Obama" match.

I would guess that people are hesitant to book him after the Highspots and ROH disputes. More from Price & co.: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=3...36&comments http://nwalegends.com/fanfestforum/YaBB.pl?num=1274779006 Will try to make it more coherent and put up a post at Cageside, but it amazes me how Flair keeps on finding new ways to top himself.

Is it possible for Blake Norton to ever NOT be self-aggrandizing? Somebody needs to find the beginning of the first episode of "The Bagpipe Report" on The Wrestling Channel, as he gives himself the most amazing verbal blowjob you've ever heard.

I've never heard that before.

Let's see what Google finds me: LOP's recap of WWF Excess 3/9/02: Recent WC thread.: Contemporary WC thread: So it was before WM, and they were more worried about him being unable to do alcohol-related angles than his well-being. Wonderful. That said, Scott Williams added this:

I was going to bring this up at Cageside Seats, but do we really buy the Scott Hall was taking Antabuse story anymore? I get Jake Roberts becoming a born-again Christian vibes from that story. I'm pretty sure that other wrestlers saw him vomiting from the reaction.

I haven't seen that stuff in years...how overtly racist was it? Standard Japanese heel stuff or further?

He was probably panicking over the idea that he broke his collarbone again.

So did Orton hit some sort of broken part of the ring? I can't figure out how the hell he broke his arm doing that.

I remember something about Kawada feeling that he didn't get the ace push for looks reasons, in spite of being considered the the better worker.

I don't think they booked today as the PPV date for any nefarious reasons, and they probably didn't name it that way for any specific reason, but you're right, it's really odd, and I'm curious if any Hart family member will throw a fit over it.

Wrestling mysteries that will never be solved
In lieu of starting a new thread, I dug up this old one: Nobody ever found out more about Jim Crockett filing opposition to WWE's use of the "Ric Flair" trademark, right? It led to WWE having to call him "Rick Flair" for at least a few weeks in early Spring '06 before it was resolved.

Hey, remember when Scott Hall was actually on Antabuse in an effort to stay sober and Steve Austin poured beer on him? That was a dick move.

Rampage on Raw should be nuts just for the collective Dave/Bryan/Todd Martin aneurysm.

The Boogie Jam match is indeed the one I've been begging for. 60 minute draw babyface match that's never been available before. Only the last few minutes aired on TV. I like the Orton match, and it's kind of an interesting choice as it's the only match that doesn't seem like an obvious pick in some form (major match or part of a major feud). The best Jake match being included is a really pleasant surprise. The match from The Big Event would've fit their habits better. If they had to recycle an '89 Flair match, Chicago would've been a better choice, being the title win, and shorter (allowing room for another match) with a nice pace. Representing the Flair feud with a 60 minute draw and a 55 minute match feels like a bad idea. Haven't they avoided recycling the WM12 main event for similar reasons? Austin-wise, I'd prefer the US Title switch, but they may have avoided it since it was on the last Austin set and it's not as must-include like WM3 or something with Flair from '89. Disc one not having any matches is really sucky.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
Yeah, ECW Press turns a profit. Heh. I only used S&S as the example because they're WWE's publisher. No other "major" has released a wrestling book in the US that I can think of.

The Jim Ross Is A Grouchy Hateful Vile Human Being thread
Are you sure it was self-published? I was able to pretty easily get the original version from my library and I don't think I've ever seen any self-published stuff anywhere in their system aside from local historical material. I can't find anything about the publisher not related to this book so you're probably right, though.
