  6. http://www.amazon.com/National-Wrestling-A...4397&sr=1-1
  7. Ron Martinez owns the Southwest library.
  8. I think Rajah read it wrong... It said "his baby" in a context referring to Dunn, meaning that Dunn fought it because it would hurt Dunn's baby, the Diva Search. Also, the women will still be wearing tights instead of miniskirts/booty shorts.
  9. You also have to explain that wrestlers are trained and get hurt, though.

Are there attendance figures for the Brody-Bruno series? Graham's site doesn't have any.
  11. It's true. It probably won't last, but it should be interesting to follow.
  12. I've known for a long time that Tony Charles was awesome, but this WCCW stuff was a revelation. Watching him working with Sonoda to have a pretty great tag against Al Madril and an over the hill Jose Lothario gave me a new respect for him. I need to rip and post his Maple Leaf stuff from '82ish, he was a legitimately good heel promo there. You mean Jose, right? Jorge was one of the Flying Elvises in TNA.

They didn't shoot it themselves. The only fan-shot footage they ever used was the Clique curtain call for the "DX is trying to get fired" angle.

The only guy you can say was elevated by it so far is Kennedy, and that's not 100% yet. RVD and Edge were pretty much already at their maximum levels when they won. Edge wasn't elevated by MITB on its own, it was that combined w/ the Lita pairing and such that did it.
  16. Oh c'mon, Vince making fun of Louisville and almost shutting down the whole developmental system is pretty great.
  17. I don't think he even does it intentionally, but his set talking points get in the way. Keller was actually nastier and really petty about it, saying that Meltzer was just using the obits to so he could call the deceased's friends for comment and then use them as sources.

So you haven't seen him wrestle in three months but dismiss him even though much of the praise is that he's rapidly improving?

Wha? Cena's punches and clotheslines have been really good lately.

And the territory (mostly) died before Brody did Hence he could've always been brought in as a ringer to pop a house if they wanted. Eh, they drew 300 for Bulldogs-R&R... How did the territory exist on its own after Crockett bought out Geigel, anyway? Did he buy it back? Yeah but Bulldogs/R&R weren't established names in the territory perse either although that was a pretty loaded card. Brody was a top guy in the state of Missouri for a while and drew well when he was there often. It was 5 years into the WWF expansion (which started in St. Louis) but you're right, as it looked like the WWF drew really oddly in Missouri, from terrible to okay with no real pattern. Interesting to look at... Any idea what the time frame was? Before or after Turner bought out Crockett?
