The Jim Cornette Experience
Cornette's most impressive work creatively (not knowing what specific angles he was involved in with his WCW and WWE booking team gigs at least) was probably when he was driven insane trying to fix the Doug Basham-Damaja feud when WWE called them up as the Basham Brothers tag team. He actually made a coherent storyline out of it.

WWE Finances
One point that got lost in translation to Dave in relaying the information that I got from WWE is that even in 2015, the online portion of the Canadian service will only be available to subscribers to the cable service. It will be their equivalent of HBO Go or Showtime Anytime.

WWE Network... It's Here
At this point they have to drop the "$10 billed monthly with a six month commitment" option if it can't be enforced and leave the two new options: $20 a month with no commitment or $60 lump sum paid in advance for six months. If you know how to get around the "commitment" there's no reason to pick the $20 option. Anything else is a bad idea.

WWE Network... It's Here
Which is worse for WWE in terms of perception: Lots of people deciding to find a way to cancel or lots of people having to use using gift or debit cards that had less than $9.99 on them when WWE charged them again?

Dave Meltzer stuff
The reveal was, yes, but the majority of the program, including Al Wilson's prosthesis, was on SmackDown on UPN.

Dave Meltzer stuff
Even if it was, I view it as the opposite of a Mike Tyson/Wrestlemania 14 situation. On the one scenario you lose money on an angle but it leads you to making way more money and better ratings down the line. On the other scenario you pop a ratings boost with cheap smut but lose a lot of fans through the tasteless, seedy nature of the angle, not to mention all the people who maybe stopped their young kids getting exposure to WWE because of 'hot lesbian action' and the other stuff they were putting out. Parents letting their kids watch late night TV objecting to content? That's absurd. Late night TV? Smackdown has always aired from 8-10.

Stop saying King's Road. Please.

Impact Cancelled
It's the end. Spike money kept them going. Even if they do get a TV deal, which I doubt, it wouldn't be for close to enough $ to survive.

Impact Cancelled
TNA owns their own library.

I'm honestly not sure what happened there. Also, this cryptic TNA crypticness, is...well...you figure it out.

I've hated "botch" for awhile but couldn't put my finger on why, so thank you.- Commonly used words and phrases that annoy you
Bix: 20/20 special. Curtain pulled back. It's hardly the only one. Vince going in and out of letting people blade back in the late 80s and early 90s, because "blading" was out there enough for the "barbaric" practice being a PR concern for Vince. Exactly how much of the magic trick does one have to understand before Kayfabe is Dead? That Hogan is going to keep the belt in every match isn't enough? So does it have to be that Trip and Steph are fucking? Because the fact that Savage and Liz were married was pretty common knowledge long before they got "married" in the storyline. I mean... I get the some folks might have been too clueless to have known. But it was out there for years. Where is the magic bullet where kayfabe is dead, or died? A one-off media expose or the occasional bad shoot angle (and there was no context given to your Pillman-Sullivan example by the announcers) is not the same thing as the promotion itself producing and marketing extensive documentaries about the very specific inner-workings of the business.- Commonly used words and phrases that annoy you
The death of kayfabe isn't something that can be looked at in a strictly binary fashion: Wrestling is a real sport or it isn't. The vast majority of people knowing it was worked was not a big deal. Pulling back the curtain and showing how the magician does his tricks did remove some mystique, though. - WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
