  1. Bret vs Buzz is the same noisy dubbed down copy everyone has.
  2. And yes, "top" is an autocorrect of a misspelling of "rip."
  3. lololololololololol You gotta think Landy was thrilled to finally get a pristine copy of this match...and now it turns out they just used a rip of his YouTube upload!
  4. Awesome YouTube find: Clipped raw footage of the Jacques Rougeau vs Pierre Outlette match from the Montreal forum. The editing is a little weird as a few spots are shown twice, but what's shown is awesome and the heat is insane. I really want to see the whole thing and Phil should do a "The Motherfucking Internet" review of it at Segunda Caida. Speaking of YouTube: I got my review copy of the new Bret Hart set and the Andre match is ripped from YouTube since they don't have it. Really.
  5. Is Bill Simmons going to Mania? Would it be too forward to beat Shoemaker about the face with my résumé in front of him in the press box to try to get some gigs at Grantland?

Well, one of them (Slaphappy) is actually pretty good as the author immerses himself pretty well (goes on an ECW bus trip, visits Hart House and witnesses Davey assaulting Diana, etc) and in general just does a solid job. The rest suck, though Wrestling to Rasslin has some nostalgia value from when I'd borrow it from the library.
  7. Yeah, if Dave volunteered (I don't know if he did), I'm surprised, especially since he felt sending in a ballot for the new official UFC rankings might be a conflict of interest.
  8. In case you missed the "sneak preview," here we go... http://www.lltpod.com RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/lltpod Direct MP3 link for ep 1: http://ia701204.us.archive.org/27/items/Lo...od001corino.mp3 (There are a couple break ups in the Skype call I couldn't edit out without messing up how it flowed, and yes, I know the intro came out awful. Be nice, remember I'm new to recording intros/outros/whatever on my own)
  9. Recorded it pretty much right as you posted this, not sure yet when it'll go up, but anyway it's a hodgepodge of fan stuff, talking about the Shenonumake Post, and a bunch of other stuff. It's not a career rundown though there are parts that have a similar direction (obviously we talk about the end of WCW and his cup of coffee with WWE, but I ask about stuff like the last Worldwide since it was the last WCW show aired). I made sure to listen to the PTB interview first to avoid as much duplication as possible. One thing I noticed (and that he eventually mentioned outright) was that he prefers to talk about anything in wrestling that doesn't involve him.
  10. Already recorded with Scott but I can use those whenever he's on again.
  11. 40%, to be specific.
  12. Over the next week I've got the following guys lined up to record shows with: - Scott Hudson - Jimmy Korderas I'm always open to suggestions since I can't come close to thinking of everything. And if you've got any suggestions (or leads/referrals) for people to interview (keeping in mind what I'm trying to do stylistically, so not everyone's gonna fit), those can go here, too.
  13. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they weren't there at the same time, both from memory and what I can see looking around online.
  14. Gonna listen to this in a few minutes, but what's the Chris Cruise thing, that he was one of the people who Scott had heat with for allegedly "undercutting" them?
  15. Yeah, like I say on the show (and even mention to Steve at the end of part 2), he's ridiculously enthusiastic and it's awesome, especially for a 40 year-old guy who, if he was bitter, would have a bunch of really good reasons for it. As good as the first half is, the second half might be better: An offhand "Oh, how is the rib injury healing?" leads to a really in-depth discussion of big bumps/hardcore spots (including "the magic" behind the guardrail spot and why he got hurt this time), blading (how many times he's gigged will surprise you), and head injuries. We recorded the day after the news about the CTE test came out, so that gets discussed. I haven't gone back and listened all the way to write the descriptions yet and can't quite remember, is the Fujiwara stuff in part 1?

I'd just like to point out that Bleacher Report comment sections are much more pro-Henry.

It seems to me that as it regards modern Mark Henry there isn't much of a debate at least on this board I'm not sure there's a debate anymore about modern Mark Henry on the entire Internet.
  18. Eh, why not, a sneak preview for PWO: http://ia701204.us.archive.org/27/items/Lo...od001corino.mp3
  19. I decided in editing the show to open with the actual bash theme and close with that for fun. We shall see.
  20. Corino it is. I think I found a theme song!
  21. I won't overthink it. Leaning towards Corino, as TJP is longer than I remember, about 90 minutes.
  22. I recently committed to going back info podcasting with new Loser Leaves Town shows. The goal is sort of a AOW/WTF/Mohr Stories style conversational interview posted weekly instead of the hodge podge of formats I used to do irregularly. I have a few shows on the can and would like to put one up Monday, but I'm unsure which to start with. Right now I have these just about ready: - TJ Perkins (I think about 80 minutes) - Steve Corino (two parts, each about 60 minutes, I think I'll post them separately). - Colt Cabana (about 65 minutes) So far I'd say Corino is probably my favorite and in a vacuum I'd like to start there, but I feel a bit weird about starting with a two-parter. They've all been at least good, but I think the TJP interview gives a somewhat better idea of where I'm trying to go conceptually than the one I did with Cabana. What do you all think? Thanks!
  23. To be fair, JCP and early WCW are much different promotions if you're only watching the big shows (and that goes double if you were watching the home video versions of any of those shows, and I don't know if you were or not).
