Well their is a missing Flair match from the Mid-South that went to a Broadway that was taped by Joel Watts and melted in his trunk that's not listed from Mid-South for what it's worth.

He's a guy who will do well on my ballot. Him and the NWO angle turned me into a superfan again after I drifted away in college.

I liked the match from Florida with Solie, Brisco, and Coach Heath in the studio.

He also had a couple of good matches with Orndorff. I know JDW enjoyed his Jake match . I wasn't a fan. To me he has quite a lot of good matches that made tape. Also I saw a lot of his house show matches in the WWF from 85-89 and he always had one of the better matches.

I just want to make my position clear. I think all 3 of you did a great show. All three of you have a wealth of knowledge. I hold a lot of what you fellas have to say in a high opinion. I feel a lot of the board would feel the same way. When making the ultimate Dick Murdoch as a Hall of Famer argument because of your guys cred I feel it should be scrutinized more than the average fans podcast. To me the case was made that Murdoch has the credentials. I just need more details to close the chapter on that book.

You're right you didn't compare . I misunderstood a few posts up. Now I think you are right New Orleans was used as part of the loop but smaller building than the Superdome.

I'm like Steven. I have close to 30 notebooks with everything I watch listed. I have star ratings, and the dreaded check mark for matches that are too short or clipped to rate. No Excel for me though.

Will now your example of MSG vs. The Superdome comparison. Like Koloff was running the Garden monthly. Was Murdoch main eventing the Superdome monthly? I don't think so. It's impressive that he worked the semi main event and main event on so many Superdome shows. Still to the best of my knowledge they weren't running it monthly.

I think Kris is one of the most informed people on the history of wrestling. I thought he was tremendous on the show. I don't expect people to rattle of stats, except when people are talking drawing power. The show was about Murdoch's HOF candiancy.This isn't a personal attack. Of course I'm going to take Kris's word if it suits my take on something. I believe Murdoch is a Hall of Famer. Just give me the ammo. I know he was a great worker, I know he was important to a lot of territories. I need to understand how important.

As an overview of Dick Murdoch's career it was great even if we didn't get the great story of power washing the paint off his truck at the Coors plant. With that said I wasn't buying some of the arguments. His run in Mid-South in 85 as being a positive. How much of his drawing power was attributed to being put on top of a hot promotion . I can buy the argument if you had the facts behind it. It seemed like we just had to agree with that statement . Even the statement that was made the normal towns were up, but big shows were down is kind of non comital. I need to see more details on the Stan Hansen comparison in Japan. Not saying it's not true. It seems like a bit of s stretch. I get Murdoch was important but at the Doc, Gordy level maybe. Not at the Stan Hansen level. The example of working on top in the 6 man at the Garden was a bit of hyperbole. The match that was the intermission was Hogan vs. Studd. Also the tag team with Dusty one of the all time great draws was the main catalyst to the team drawing. I do believe Murdoch is a Hall of Famer. I just don't think the numbers are as easy as looking at like Koloff and to a lesser extent Patera.

Well Will if you don't count St. Louis which to me is a big feather in his cap. Houston wouldn't count on the criteria you set. Houston was a town supplemented by Mid-South talent. St. Louis was a town supplemented by K.C talent.

If there was no hierarchy their could be a case for Bulldog Bob Brown in the HOF.

I liked a lot of this match. Sure there was over kill of moves, especially the finish. I thought the guys really brought it with the psychology. Kobashi targets the neck of Doc like a surgeon, while Doc went after the back. The body of work is the meat and potatoes. While the finish is just a triple decker chocolate cake.

I was part of the original Smarkchoice poll. His was a name brought up. When I finally got a chance to see him wrestle I was blown away. He was a guy who fit a lot of the criteria I have in my wrestling. I don't even know if he made my ballot last time. If he did I gave him the short shrift . I will fix that problem this time around .

I'll say in the WWF between 84-89 his output was better than Bret Hart. I'll say only Valentine's , or maybe Savage's output is greater between 84-89 than Tito's. Than you have your Steamboat's , Adonis, Orton types .

Count me down in loving the Puerto Rico Colon stuff. When you have "fans" throwing switch blades into the ring you know they're doing something right. I se him as a top 10 guy. My only knock against him is his runs in Memphis and WCW. I thought the matches were good. I just thought the program was identical with Idol , and Luger. We see him beat the local baby face. Then he gives a rematch with the bullrope match. I'd like to see him mix it up a bit more. This won't hurt him, but it won't leapfrog him from 3 to1 either.

From the footage I've seen of him I've really liked. I think not having enough Georgia footage is going to hurt him. Lack of a lot of 70's footage will hurt. Towards the twilight of his career he had a good match with Terry Funk in the WWF. On Black Sunday he had a good match with Less Thorton. I dug his Mid-South run with TA vs. MX. I recently watched a good match match with Mr. Saito from Georgia. Footage will be key if he makes my ballot.

With Tito I want to say the Valentine feud produced the best series of matches in the 80's in the WWF. I also think as part of Strike Force he partook in maybe the best series of tag team matches in the 80's WWF. To me that is quite the feather in his cap.

I got a little confused. I still like the 6 man from Havoc 89. I'm not pushing for his nomination. I still think the sampling size is small. So we have 4 matches. Not saying he had a great run. I feel 4 random matches isn't enough to draw that conclusion. Also on the list Doc shows up a couple of times, and Rotunda once. So a lot of his opponents showed up on the list too.

I liked their Clash match againt the Midnight Express from New Orleans.
