Wrestling Culture Episode 56
Also on the show I liked the out of the box thing of Bravo. Though in the end he would have lacked the charisma.

To me their are one or 2 things that would have hampered Steamer is he's an amazing seller. The WWE champ style seems to take a lot of the match. That isn't Steamboat's strength. Steamer had a good offense, I think Bob's was more dynamic. The brawls I 've seen Steamer has done fine in. That would be the other thing I'd give Bob.

Brunzell is an interesting idea to try to float by. I wonder what his amateur background was since they were looking for a guy in the Jack Brisco vein. The 3 guys that popped into my head at being able to do it were Steamboat, Patterson, or Hansen. I think the only guy their with an amateur background would be Steamer. What was Rotundo doing around this time. A fun premise.

PTBN - Battleground 2014 Reaction with Will, Charles, Dylan and Kris
All I know is I texted will and said I think this show was going to be bad, and he had the nerve to call me a negative Nelly.

I'm only up to the Steamboat/Martel talking point. When Steamer worked the Garden with Youngblood they got over huge with no build against Kamata and Brower. The fans would have been receptive to Steamboat as champ.

Current WWE
The number of PPVs doesn't matter as far as that selling point goes, simply that they will get however many PPVs that are on the Network with their subscription. Except one major flaw on your idea. When you are use to getting 12 shows and now we get 5 and 2 specials under your business model the consumer will feel screwed and wonder where there other 5 shows are. If they switched to this 2 years ago the consumer wouldn't feel screwed. Now you are taking away content, and the main revenue stream of the network.

You have to keep all the ppv's. That is the main selling point of the network .

Current WWE
I'm viewing the ppv model as like a 1980 MSG show they 'd run monthly . The key isn't burning the feud out with matches on Raw and Smackdown. They also need to build the feud up to make sense . I don't think their creative can think in this way.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
This is something I thought would happen with the network. The pairings lasting longer. It has more of an 80's feel to it where guys will get the same match 2 or 3 times in a row . Like Usos/ Wyatt Family should do a Texas Tornado match next or some gimmick.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
Damn Wyatt's eye is still messed up from Flair 's hardway.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
This pales in comparison to the Big E matches.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
The 1 st. 2 falls were flash pins. The Wyatt Family did well building the heat in the 1st. 2 falls.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
That final fall was balls to the walls . A damn good match.

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
Bring back the midgets for the pre show .

WWE Battleground: Live as it happens
I think the highs to pretty good. Though the promotion is really stale again.

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: The Wrestler Snapshot #7 on Ted DiBiase - Part 1 w/ Parv and Will
Some other great feuds that climaxed in a big payoff was on Christmas Night with Hayes in the cage which paid off the Christsmas cage match in 82. Another was Von Erich 's vs. Dynamic Duo in the hair match .

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: The Wrestler Snapshot #7 on Ted DiBiase - Part 1 w/ Parv and Will
On the talking point about Duggan/Dibiase not drawing in Watt's book he mentions houses were down because Duggan was guzzling Dibiase up in towns. So the rematches weren't drawing it seems .

Pro-Wrestling Super Show: The Wrestler Snapshot #7 on Ted DiBiase - Part 1 w/ Parv and Will
Will I liked the Flair/Patterson comparison . I thought Dibiase took a lot of his stuff from working with Pat. In this match Pat used a brass knuckles, Dibiase used the black glove. Along with lot of their mannerisms .
