2011 Observer Hall of Fame thread
I think Kerry Von Erich would be a good comp to JYD. I think Kerry Von Erich is a better candidate than JYD. Kerry drew in Texas,Mid-South, was a big draw in St. Louis, and did well in Japan. Was a former NWA champ when it meant something. Kerry was a better worker than JYD. JYD was a huge draw in Mid-South. He was the #2 face for a while in the WWF. I also thought the Dog meant something in Georgia. To me the Dog's flame burnt out too quick, but can see an argument for him being on the ballot.

[1992-07-04-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Sting
Fun promo. It won't talk people to the building, but was perfect for the Stinger.

[1992-07-04-WWF-Superstars] Update: Nailz/Big Bossman recap
This was a great angle. I wonder if Bossman was able to get decent matches out of Nailz. The angle and follow up has been great.

[1992-07-04-UWA] Doug Furnas & Dan Kroffat vs Silver King & El Texano
It was good but I was expecting a lot more based on rep of both teams, and footage I've seen of both teams. I thought the final fall was really fun, though the actual finish was blah. Their were some neat stuff between the teams.Anyone know where El Texano started bleeding.

When was Ric Flair at his most evil?
I always thought when Flair faced Koloff in the cage. Dusty comes out to help Flair, and Flair and the Horseman do the big beatdown on Rhodes to a huge amount of heat.

[1992-07-03-CMLL] El Dandy vs Negro Casas
This is a classic. Easily in my top 5 Lucha matches of all time. I love how the mat wrestling is the base of the match. Through that we get an incredible 3rd caida that the crowd is going bonkers on all the false finishes. I think Meltzer gave this 4*. He really underrated this classic.

Guys you "should" like but don't?
I'm pretty open minded about things. Though I have never been able to get into female wrestling. I don't know why. Another thing is with the high end indy stuff. I hate all those snarky chants from the fans. It can really just kill a match.

[1992-06-20-WCW-Beach Blast] Rick & Scott Steiner vs Steve Williams & Terry Gordy
I haven't seen this in a while so I'll check it out again soon. One thing about this show was the in the ring stuff was really good. Some of the booking choices is weird. We get 2 non title matches. 2 Matches that end up going 30, so the main event going 30 kinda kills the iron match stips. Not allowing the Sting/Cactus match or Rude/Steamer to go last because of an angle with Cactus and Steamboat seems stupid. Here's an idea. Kill the angle and do it on the weekend show. Plus you could argue the Iron Man match had too many falls. Plus in back to back matches we see Cactus work over Sting's ribs and then in the next bout we have Steamboat work over Rude's ribs. FYI Rude sold his ribs a billion times better than Sting, and with Sting we actually had an injury angle. For a guy who had a rep for being a sticular for detail Watts does miss a lot here.
