[1979-04-06-Houston Wrestling] Greg Valentine vs Tiger Conway Jr
This is 2 out of 3 falls and it's pretty good. I'm a sucker for limb work that tells a story and we got it here in spades. Valentine in all 3 falls is just going after the leg. Nothing ground breaking but it makes sense. Tiger is actually a pretty good baby face. He sells the leg like a champ. He shows great fire. At one point he does a Steamboat Starcade 84, and instead of protecting his ribs, he's protecting his leg by using a side stance. Conway was also pretty good at using some nice revenge spots on Greg's leg. I also enjoyed how they refer to Greg as Johnny's brother. I wonder what year they started doing the real story. I hated the screw job finish of the 3rd fall, and felt they could have gone home a few minutes earlier. Overall if you're a fan of story telling, good snug limb work, and psychology you'll like this match. 3 1/2*

I really enjoyed the main event. Until the finish. O'reilly was bad ass working the arm. They did a great job with teasing the crowd he was going to win the title. With that said Lethal's constant no selling of the arm going for Lethal Injection was so bad. Come on dude .

3 way tag match was an awesome spot fest . We got some structure. I did 2 sweet Matt Jackson FYI. Afterwards Kazarian shot the finger in my face. I marked out hard.

ACH vs Matt Sydal Hard to follow the previous match. Will pulls a Parv and is fat shaming the ref. I liked the build to the hot finish. Sydal working ACH's leg was well done. ACH sold well. A super fun match that had selling , good work , and high spots and meshed them together .

Moose vs Cedric Alexander no DQ. A total fun spectacle . Live this was insane. I was marking out like a MOFO. Moose looked incredible and Cedric worked hard.

All Night Express vs Briscoes This had a lot of action. Doing a babyface match is tough. King showed a lot of charisma. Briscoes stuff looked snug. They come across as stars. I need to rewatch this.

Castle vs Young This was really good. I thought this was the best match either has had with one another. Young gets major props for going after the back. Loved Young being able to counter Dalton's deadlift German which is a token spot . Dalton's finisher looked a little ugly. Still good stuff.

4th Row guardrail I was just jawing with Young.

Lethal vs Fish had a lot of good things going for it. One, Fish working the leg throughout . He had cool ways of going after it. Live you look like a dummy waiting for Lethal Injection. Some of the early strikes were bad. Overall I liked it.

I saw Flair and Fiffi last weekend and teased that a huge interview was next . They wouldn't tell me it was Bischoff.

I like Chad's diversity. Parv's feels like he's either done a podcast about the match or done a review on PWO about his favorites. I have a feeling 80% of his matches he has covered in depth somewhere. So those really make a cool companion pieces to his lists. Now I also think Chad has a ton of companion pieces like podcasts and yearbook reviews too. Though not as much as Parv, because I feel Chad would rather watch more wrestling than get as bogged down as Parv writing reviews .Thus why Chad's list is a bit more diverse. Good stuff boys.

Just about every shitty wrestler with a lengthy career has ONE match you can point to and say it was good. But none of them get some kind of reputation as a great hand who can carry anyone and everyone. Goc you said you've never seen a match with Brooks sniffing good. I was just pointing out one worth watching.

Piper and Brooks in Portland had a good Dog Collar match I believe.
