[1984-11-23-Houston Wrestling] Butch Reed & Jim Duggan vs Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase
What a fun match. The opening double football tackle spot is the coolest thing I've seen. What impact. The faces were awesome in the shine as walking tall babyfaces. Reed mocking Dibiase's small muscles was fantastic and I wish we all could see Parv's face when he sees it. Loved Doc using the helmet to set up the heat. Loved them working the cut. The finish was all caotic and sets up the next match. Duggan is a very sympathetic babyface. Great tag. 3 3/4*

[1985-05-03-Houston Wrestling] Jake Roberts vs Steve Casey
This is a master class in Jake Roberts psychology 101 in making the crowd care about your opponent. Jake was great here. He gave his opponent enough hope spots that the crowd got behind him. Jake engaging the crowd was top notch. Jake was good here at getting the crowd going. I loved the finish of Jake pissing Casey off enough to outsmart him for the win. 3 1/4*

Between the Sheets #7 (September 1-7, 1995) (Featuring John Philapavage)
I loved how at 1st Zellner no sold the Jem and the holograms reference. Then Bix won't let him. Then Johnny P talks about his experience with Jem . Then it turns full circle and Zellner knows when it got cancelled.

Thoughts on an epic Wahoo vs Spoiler match. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31924-wahoo-mcdaniel-vs-the-spoiler-42179/

[1979-04-21-Houston Wrestling] Wahoo McDaniel vs The Spoiler
This is an amazing battle. Spoiler's offense is so credible looking. Everything he does looks painful. We see him take the advantage and he's working over Wahoo's back and neck. Spoiler uses the ropes for springing off to cause more damage. In a nice touch Hart yells Spoiler claw and Spoiler uses the claw. Wahoo bleeds big time to get over the claw. This moves outside where a stiff as hell brawl erupts. Their is slamming on tables, using of chairs. Wahoo sells throughout. When he makes a comeback it's big. Both guys tear into each other with a fury. Spoiler keeps on going back to the cut caused by the claw throughout. 4 1/2*

Watched the Gary Hart vs Mark Lewin loser gets painted yellow match. The match was nothing, but it was all about the stip, and it delivered in spades. The crowd paid for Hart to get beat up and humiliated. Mission accomplished.

[1984-12-27-Houston Wrestling] Rip Oliver vs Tim Horner
These guys are both really good workers. Oliver is most famous for his Portland run. Horner is a guy who has worked everywhere. Always did well. The epitome of a mid carder, but a real good hand in the ring. These guys did what was needed from them. Have an entertaining high energy match. This was a very good match for what was needed from the talent. Oliver's heeling to Horner's fight. Good stuff. 2 1/2*

Ernie Ladd
The Houston footage on nwaclassics.com has shown Ladd as a really smart worker. We have the 6 man tag that was available before. Though 3 singles matches with Ladd has shown up so far. Two of them are against Magnum TA and were really good. He also has one versus Brad Armstrong was a little short, but shows what type of worker Ladd is, but it's still past his prime. He's gaining momentum with me.

Thoughts on a real smartly wrestled Magnum TA vs Ernie Ladd http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31913-ernie-ladd-vs-magnum-ta-112384/

[1984-11-23-Houston Wrestling] Ernie Ladd vs Magnum T.A.
Ladd is the champion here. This is such a smartly worked match. Ladd is such a smart wrestler here. He might be physically shot, but it's cool to see hom much mileage he could get out of using his mind. ROH Moose should be watching as much Ernie Ladd as humanely possible. You look at Magnum TA, and he really is the prototype babyface of the WWE attitude era from Steve Austin, Rock, HHH, and even Biker taker had a lot of the same qualities as Magnum TA. We start out with Ladd bumping, and flaying around getting over Magnum TA as a serious ass kicker. Ladd would also allow TA to show off by lifting him in a front facelock. So Ladd really did a nice job shining TA up. When Ladd got the heat he was so incredible, and so smart. Ladd would just destroy Ta's leg. Magnum was tremendous in his role selling his ass off. When it was time for Magnum's comeback it was executed so wegot the crowd hook line and sill. Ladd as a master story teller had Magnum do revenge spots on the leg. This was so good, and made sense on so many levels. When they had the crowd where they wanted they went into the finish with some help from Budro. 3 3/4*

Observer HOF prediction/ballot question thread
Why should this be shocking at this point. Their are voters who aren't qualified, their are voters who will give their due diligence. Their are voters who are so excited to have one they whip one out immediately .
