[1985-03-08-Houston Wrestling] Ted DiBiase vs Jim Duggan (No DQ, Taped Fists)
This was tremendous. First off the promos were great and added a lot of gravitas. This was a tremendous brawl. Dibiase cheats at the go with powder. Ted busts open Duggan and he's a bleeding . Dibiase is all after that cut. Those fistdrops are a thing of beauty. Duggan is great with his selling. The glass eye selling combined with the blood was pretty great. Duggan's comeback was epic. The wedgebuster was nasty. Great stuff. 4 1/4*

Tracy Smothers
Just a great Southern Baby face. Good at everything. He can make you laugh as quick as pissing you off. He could work a brawl, he could work a technical match. Very fluid on the card. Could be counted on to work singles , tags, heel , face, . Don't sleep on him

Michael Elgin
I thought he had a good G1. The crowd got behind him and that meant a lot. It gave him the confidence. It was smart of him or who ever to basically do Cesaro strength spots. He got rid of the flippy stuff that an ass kicker doesn't need. He needs to keep the beard. I was majorly against him going into the G1. His work grew on me. He now needs to come back to ROH and continue the momentum. Still has no business sniffing the list.

Butch Reed
He's been showcased a lot on the Houston footage . He's looked incredible to just being there. I think where he worked on the card has a direct bearing on how hard he worked. He might have gotten the best singles matches out of JYD ever. Knocking Terry Funk out of that category says a lot about him as a wrestler.

The company Is also top heavy on baby faces. They need to add some more heels to balance out the cards.

A lot of wrestlers are scum bags. We aren't having a poll on who is the scummiest of the scum. El P you are voting for Benoit that is your choice as is someone voting for Ken Wayne. As a moderator we are not going to debate what is worse. El-P and anyone else who can't abide by this rule . Their will be consequences. So cut it out. Argue stuff on their wrestling merits.

Jose Lothario
With nwaclassics.com the Houston footage explosion he's a guy I'm now considering for my top 100. He's an incredible ethnic baby face. He had incredible timing . Everything he did meant something. He had great fire. Has had great matches with Gino, Black Gordman, the Guerreros. He could work tags, or singles . I'm sure we'll get more Lothario before Mania.

[1984-06-08-Houston Wrestling] Hector Guerrero vs Jose Lothario (Mexican Death)
We start with a Chavo interview where he's in humble babyface mode.He even gives Mr. Boesch a jar of salsa from his dad. We go to the match and this was worked perfectly. This is a Mexican Death Match. We start slow and methodical. Hector out wrestling Lothario early. Just one upping him early. This was paced perfectly . So when it was time to become violent it hit the switch. It then morphs into this bloody hate filled brawl. Both guys are bloody. Both guys working the cut. Then we get the finish . Both guys can't make the count. The ref declares the winner is who gets to his feet 1st. Both guys are getting up. Jose ko's Hector and the ref. To the crowd they see him as the winner.Chavo tosses salsa in Lothario's eyes. He crumbles. The ref sees Hector up and declare him the winner. What a great match, with incredible psychology. Then we get a great Guerrero post match promo. Just wow. This was just incredible all around . 4*

The Nightmares
They also have a mini run in 1990 as the Galaxians in WCW as tv jobbers. A super fun tag team. As faces they were similar to the Fantastics. As heels they were very similar to the MX.

WWN Live-Evolve, I-ppv's
Evolve 48 Page vs Nese I kind of zoned out here and there. It felt it went too long. I think both guys are limited and are better working tags. Gargano vs Swann Pearl Harbor by Swann. Swann on top. Gargano is telling the story he can't strike his former friend Swann. Pretty stupid. Gargano teasing a punch, but can't do it again. Finally Gargano can fight. This was just a stupid match. 1* Konley vs Baretta These guys worked this match much more personal than the pevious match on the card. Konley working the back. Baretta is a guy who works better underneath.Just too damn long. 2 1/2 * Bailey/Horus vs Gulak/Williams A total style clash. This was a total mess. 1/2* Hero vs Sabre Jr. 2 guys who are well traveled. Mat wrestling to start. In an exchange of holds Hero nails a pilledriver. Hero with an elbow and targets Sabre Jr's neck. Like how Zack sells the neck while having Hero in the Octopus. Hero is using his weight to his advantage. The Kimura battle was an amazing exchange. I'm loving how both guys are pinpointing their attacks. Zack countering the Gotch Piledriver with a Kimura was sick. This was a great match. 4 1/4* Thatcher vs Busick Anything goes. Thatcher with nasty upper cuts. Busick right at him. Loving Busick punishing Thatcher's mid section. Adominal stretch does more damage to Thatcher's mid section. A surfboard with similar results. Side salto x3 by Thatcher. Thatcher going after the injured thumb. Knee lock to the STF by Busick. Still focusing on Thatcher's core. Thatcher's busted open. Busick is just viciously attacking the bloody ear. Busick reinjures his thumb attacking the bloody ear. Running power bomb by Busick. Elbows to the ear. Side choke by Busick. Thatcher snaps the thumb and gets a tap out. Holy fuck that was brutal in a realistic way.4 1/2* We get a killer angle with Hero elbow taped with Ice laying out Thatcher/Williams/Gulak. It was a sick visual with the ice.

ROH vs. NXT
That I don't know. I've liked Caprice Coleman on color when he's done it. He's called moves wrong here or there. That to me is easy to fix. He gets the psychology of the matches over.A play by play guy is tough. I wouldn't retread any wwe or TNA guys. I loved the guy who's name escapes me who did the last night of Ultima Lucha if he's available. Jim Ross is the exception to the retread rule. he's a name and he could groom someone else down the line. We have guys who post here who do Pbp and can tell us how hard it is. It seems like a really hard job.

ROH vs. NXT
Castle had a great match against Adam Cole on the ppv. Then he had a really good match with ACH on a VOD show. Then he got his 1st main event on a VOD teaming with Jay Briscoe and Kyle O'Reilly. He's feuding with Silas Young who beats up his tag partners. He gets babyface reactions. He's a babyface who the announcers treat as a heel.
