Wild West Wrestling March 1986
Me too! It's the perfect way to turn the Hot Stuff Gilbert situation into a big positive.

AWA results for March 1986
Pillman vs Tanaka would have been a tough act to follow in Calgary. I agree with the general consensus that putting it on last was the right way to go.

Shodate banned?
Didn't think of that. It makes sense.

- Shodate banned?
when he first got here he dropped a humblebrag about having been banned from "CM" which I assumed to mean CrazyMax.- Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Katie Vick for me too. Same deal. Completely put me off of watching RAW for years. I went back to watching SmackDown occasionally fve or six months after the angle, when Benoit and Eddie started wrestling on that show. I remember reading about Chris Jericho running over HHH's dog as the main story in the build to WrestleMania, a month or two after I stopped watching RAW, and just feeling like I had made the best decision. I haven't been a regular weekly viewer of any WWE program since then, though I still pop in during the Rumble-Mania season most years.- AWA results for March 1986
Nice to see the Canadian Championship belt around the waist of a Canadian wrestler.- AWA results for March 1986
Bigelow vs Nord and Spivey vs Cactus both sound right up my alley. And of course we all know how great Regal and Finlay can be in there together. The AWA continues its long run of great cards.- Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling- March 86
- [1968-01-20-France] Jean Ferre (Andre the Giant) vs Franz Van Buyten
What a find! Thank you very much for posting this. There is a match from I believe, IWE in 1972, that I'm pretty sure Jetlag introduced me to: Ali Bey, Andre & Franz Van Buyten vs. Rusher Kimura, Isamu Teranishi & Thunder Sugiyama. It's one of my favourite matches now, and the interactions between Monster Rousimoff and Van Buyten are the best thing about it. Getting 10+ minutes of those two is a real gift.- World Class Championship Wrestling: March 1986
I like the use of pictures. JYD as the mystery partner is perfect. Great twist at the end with Friday!- Shodate banned?

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Team Hell No vs The Thrillseekers- World Class Championship Wrestling: March 1986
Absolutely! But... I think his name is "Nick Mantell" Plus we get a stealth team-up of an Executioner and an Assassin facing them. I'm wondering who will team with Mr. Olympia. I'm looking forward to Von Erichs vs Kokina and Kamala. That should be really entertaining.- Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling- March 86
- NWA Lutte Internationale March 1986
I think the name change is very recent. It was basically just a ski resort, but hey ran into financial problems around '05 or '06 due to light snowfall. Reportedly, the new ownership plans to expand it into a year-round family entertainment destination. I think the name change is connected to the planned change in identity. In '86 it still would have been Hemlock Valley Resort. Good place for a show, you'd draw from the small cities of Mission and Agassiz and maybe even get some hardcore fans to drive out from Vancouver. I have never been there but I know people who worked there, hence my interest in the place.- When did they make the leap?
I'm less sure about this one, but Mick Foley sure seemed to make a leap at Bash at the Beach '92 in the Falls Count Anywhere match vs Sting. His bumping and selling seemed to hit a whole new level and kayfabe wise his character seemed a lot tougher, less quiet and shy, and more dangerous and maniacal from that point on.- When did they make the leap?
I think it's reasonable to say that Misawa made the leap during the famous Tiger Mask & Kawada vs Yatsu & Fuyuki match when he got Kawada to tear off his mask. It is also the moment when Baba began Misawa's major push (within weeks, Misawa got his big win vs Jumbo). Tenryu had left AJPW, and Baba needed a new star. I'm pretty sure most will agree that Misawa rose to the occasion.- Bryan Danielson's in ring ability
Bryan Danielson is easily in the "Best of His Generation" category. If I'm forced to make a list I might rank him below, for example, Misawa but he's certainly on the same tier (I.e. the top tier) or at worst very close. He's a supremely talented pro wrestler (and also a decent human being and very nice person).- NWA Lutte Internationale March 1986
Tag Team Name Suggestion: The Electric Maniacs Trivia: Hemlock Valley Resort is now known as Sasquatch Mountain Resort.- KIMERA
The match that leaps out to me there is Fuke vs Tamura. I'm a big Fuke fan, I think he's often overlooked and I'd love to see him in there with an all-time top guy like Tamura. Edit: just looked it up on Cagematch. They had a 3-minute match once, in U-Style, and also teamed up there once. Something for me to look for. I hope you give them more than 3 minutes.- Dirt Sheets
Stirring things up on yourself. That is awesome... I might "borrow" that idea down the line.- Dirt Sheets
